La construcción del nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional de Raman sustituirá al Aeropuerto de Eilat
Jerusalén, Israel · Eilat podría convertirse en un importante centro de transporte, con la apertura de su nuevo aeropuerto. El ministro de Transporte, Yisrael Katz, ha ordenado a la Autoridad de Aeropuertos desarrollar acuerdos con unas 70 aerolíneas para volar al nuevo aeropuerto Ilan y Assaf Ramon, que se inaugurará en abril.
El Aeropuerto Internacional Ramon (en hebreo: נמל התעופה רמון) es un aeropuerto internacional, actualmente en construcción en el Valle de Timna, en el sur de Israel. Sustituirá aeropuerto de Eilat, manejando todos los vuelos civiles que utilizan actualmente el aeropuerto de Ovda, y sirviendo como un aeropuerto alternativo para el aeropuerto principal de Israel, el de Ben Gurión. El aeropuerto se encuentra a 18 km (11 millas ) al norte de Eilat, cerca de Beer Ora.
Tendrá unos 3.600 m ( 11.800 pies) de pista, más larga que la pista de aterrizaje en Eilat, lo que permitirá a aviones más grandes poder aterrizar. La superficie de la Terminal aérea será de 40.000 M² y la altura de la torre de control es de 50 metros. Los accesos para llegar al nuevo Aeropuerto de Ramon son el tren por carretera. Con las pistas de aterrizaje de nivel internacional y una terminal de pasajeros de gran tamaño, junto con las instalaciones de carga, equipaje, catering, etc, el aeropuerto de Ramón estará en condiciones de tomar en los vuelos de todas las compañías aéreas internacionales que viajan desde y hacia Israel. Para traer nuevos portadores también. YERUSHALAYIM, Israel · Eilat could turn into a major transportation hub, with the opening of its new airport. Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz has ordered the Airports Authority to develop deals with some 70 airlines to fly into the new Ilan and Assaf Ramon Airport, which is set to open in April.
Ramon International Airport (Hebrew: נמל התפופה רמון) is an international airport currently under construction in the Timna Valley in southern Israel. It will replace Eilat airport, handling all civilian flights currently using Ovda airport, and serving as an alternative airport for Israel’s main airport, Ben Gurion’s. The airport is 18 km (11 miles) north of Eilat, near Beer Ora.
It will have about 3,600 m (11,800 ft) of runway, longer than the airstrip in Eilat, which will allow larger aircraft to land. The surface of the Air Terminal will be 40,000 M² and the height of the control tower is 50 meters. It will have a flow of passengers in numbers close to 2,250,000 pax per year. The access to the new Ramon Airport is by train and road. The duration of the works oscillates in more than 30 months, with an investment of U $ D 473,200,000.00 (448 million Euros). The airport is scheduled to open in 2017 is named after Ilan Ramon and his son Ramon Assaf.
With international-level runways and a large passenger terminal, along with facilities for cargo, luggage, catering, etc., the Ramon Airport will be in a position to take in flights from all international carriers that fly to and from Israel, and Katz hopes to bring new carriers as well. Besides travelers to and from Eilat, airlines see an opportunity to increase their passenger load from the rest of Israel, as Israelis seeking discounted flights to Europe will likely take the short haul flight from Ben Gurion Airport via Israir or Arkia and transfer to their international flights to Europe, Katz said.
One reason why Katz is confident he will achieve his goal is that landing fees at the new airport will be suspended for three years. “This is an important incentive for the airlines,” he said. “Eilat is a destination and this is the main reason we developed the airport, but airlines see this as an opportunity to increase their flights to Israel. We will continue to develop airports in Israel and we want to ensure that the low-cost revolution reaches every household in Israel.” A\W
