De Havilland Canada y Fokker Services firman acuerdo ampliado
El fabricante de aviones canadiense De Havilland Canada (DHC) ha ampliado su acuerdo con Fokker Services, con sede en los Países Bajos, para incluir apoyo logístico en las piezas de su avión turboprop DHC 8-400. La asociación extendida continúa el acuerdo existente de De Havilland Component Solutions por un período adicional de cinco años, hasta finales de 2027. Según los términos del acuerdo, Fokker Services proporciona un almacén de 27,000 pies cuadrados en Amsterdam y operaciones de terceros para respaldar el modelo de distribución de piezas radiales de De Havilland Canada, con sede en Calgary, Canadá. Menzo van der Beek, CEO de Fokker Services, agrega que la compañía se está posicionando para enfrentar cualquier desafío de reparación de componentes y también ayudará a los esfuerzos para reducir los tiempos de respuesta. Fokker Services ha buscado aumentar la capacidad durante el año pasado. En Octubre de 2022, anunció planes para expandir su sitio existente en los Países Bajos mediante la construcción de un nuevo hangar de mantenimiento de fuselaje ancho.
La ubicación será en el MRO y centro de finalización del especialista independiente en el mercado de accesorios en el aeropuerto de Woensdrecht, ubicado a 45 millas al sur de Rotterdam y 20 millas al norte de Amberes, al otro lado de la frontera belga. La instalación tendrá capacidad para varios aviones de fuselaje ancho, incluidos aviones Airbus A330, A350 y Boeing 777.

De Havilland Canada-Fokker Services sign extended agreement
The manufacturer of Canadian aircraft De Havilland Canada (DHC) has extended its agreement with Fokker Services, based in the Netherlands, to include logistical support in the pieces of its turboprop DHC 8-400 aircraft. The Extended Association continues the existing of Havilland Component Solutions for an additional five year period, until the end of 2027. According to the terms of the agreement, Fokker Services provides a warehouse of 27,000 square feet in Amsterdam and third party operations to support the model of distribution of radial pieces of De Havilland Canada, based in Calgary, Canada. The storage services provided include incoming reception and component storage, collection, packaging and shipping together with quality control.
The MRO’s independent supplier website lists the services related to the aircraft such as availability and reconditioning of components, local lease stocks, several modifications services and repair offers and exchange of parts.
“This agreement with Fokker Services further demonstrates De Havilland Canada’s commitment to bring distribution network solutions to our clients to achieve better delivery deadlines and reduce freight costs. While some of our peers are withdrawing from their global distribution network of De Havilland Canada is showing an additional commitment to ours”, said Leighton Storsley, Vice-President of After-sales and Commercial Development.
Menzo Van Der Beek, CEO of Fokker Services, adds that the company is positioning to face any challenge for repairing components and will also help efforts to reduce response times. Fokker Services has sought to increase capacity during the last year. In October 2022, he announced plans to expand its existing site in the Netherlands through the construction of a new hangar fuselage maintenance.
The location will be in the MRO and the completion center of the independent specialist in the accessories market at the Woensdrecht airport, located 45 miles south of Rotterdam and 20 miles north of Antwerp, on the other side of the Belgian border. The installation will have capacity for several wide fuselage aircraft, including Airbus A330, A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft.
From Havilland Canada, established in 2018 after its previous incarnation when the Bombardier Q400 program was downloaded to Longview Aviation, operates four distribution centers to support the global fleet of more than 1,100 DASH aircraft 8. These centers are located in Amsterdam, Calgary, Singapore and Sydney.
