TransNusa Airlines (PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri) confía en que el nuevo avión COMAC ARJ21 de la Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. que recibió en 2022 dará a la aerolínea la oportunidad de ofrecer un servicio único a sus pasajeros. El Director Ejecutivo de TransNusa, Datuk Bernard Francis, dijo que el ARJ21 tiene tecnología avanzada y un potente motor que podría reducir el tiempo de vuelo en comparación con otros modelos de aviones que tradicionalmente son fabricados por fabricantes no chinos.
“Trabajé en el proyecto ARJ21 en los últimos tres años y medio. Parece un Airbus o Boeing. No hay diferencia. En términos de cabina, todo es igual a Airbus y Boeing, si no mejor”, dijo Datuk Bernard Francis. TransNusa es propiedad en un 51 por ciento de PT Panca Global International Indonesia y en un 49 por ciento de Linkasia Airlines Group, con sede en Singapur, en la que China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Ltd posee el 72,82 por ciento. La aerolínea fue lanzada en 2005 como una aerolínea de bajo costo que vuela desde el Aeropuerto Internacional Soekarno-Hatta de Jakarta. Fue renombrado como un operador de servicio premium en 2022 con centros en Bali y Yakarta.
Cuando se le preguntó sobre el alto consumo de combustible del ARJ21 en comparación con los rivales de Comac: Boeing de Estados Unidos, Airbus de Europa y Bombardier de Canadá, Bernard dijo que habría una serie de actualizaciones en el modelo de avión en el futuro similares a otros aviones que fueron construidos por otros fabricantes. “Para todos los aviones nuevos, también hay un viaje. Inicialmente podría ser un poco más pesado y quemar más combustible y todos esos requisitos son para asegurarse de que el avión sea absolutamente seguro. Nada se ve comprometido. El avión ARJ21 es operado principalmente por aerolíneas con sede en China, incluidas Air China, China Southern Airlines, Jiangxi Air, Chengdu Airlines. TransNusa es la primera aerolínea extranjera que recibió el avión en Diciembre de 2022. COMAC Corp. ha desarrollado dos modelos de aviones, el ARJ21 de pasillo único de corto alcance y el C919 de alcance medio. El fabricante chino está desarrollando su avión de largo alcance de doble pasillo, el C929, que se espera que ingrese al mercado en 2026.
En cuanto a la capacitación de Pilotos, Bernard Francis dijo que los pilotos de TransNusa estaban siendo entrenados en el centro de pruebas de vuelo COMAC en Shanghai, China, y que el fabricante chino de aviones también está enviando a unos treinta especialistas e ingenieros de operaciones de vuelo para estar en Indonesia para apoyar a la aerolínea. “En el futuro, a medida que construyamos nuestra flota, a medida que obtengamos más aviones, veremos opciones (sobre) si tener una instalación local dentro de la región. Podría ser en Indonesia, Malasia, Singapur o donde tenga sentido”, expresó Batuk Bernard Francis. Agregó que TransNusa estaba operando el Airbus A320 de fuselaje estrecho para su ruta inaugural Yakarta-Kuala Lumpur en lugar del ARJ21 configurado para 95 asientos que actualmente estaba destinado a servir al mercado interno de Indonesia.

When asked about the high fuel consumption of the ARJ21 compared to the COMAC: Boeing of the United States, Airbus of Europe and Bombardier of Canada, Bernard said that there would be a series of updates in the plane model in the similar similar future to other airplanes that were built by other manufacturers. “For all new airplanes, there is also a trip. Initially it could be a bit heavier and burn more fuel and all those requirements are to ensure that the plane is absolutely safe. Nothing is compromised. With more and more flights made in This plane (ARJ21), then we would know what the whistles and bells are that we may not need. As we grow and develop them, we will make changes in the aircraft”, said the manager.
The ARJ21 plane is mainly operated by China airlines, including Air China, China Southern Airlines, Jiangxi Air, Chengdu Airlines. TransNusa is the first foreign airline that received the plane in December 2022. COMAC Corp. has developed two aircraft models, the short range single corridor ARJ21 and the C919 medium reach. The Chinese manufacturer is developing its long range aircraft, the C929, which is expected to enter the market in 2026.
Regarding the training of pilots, Bernard Francis said that TransNusa pilots were being trained at the COMAC flight test center in Shanghai, China, and that the Chinese aircraft manufacturer is also sending about thirty specialists and operations engineers of flight to be in Indonesia to support the airline. “In the future, as we build our fleet, as we get more airplanes, we will see options (on) if having a local installation within the region. It could be in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore or where it makes sense”, said Batuk Bernard Francis. He added that TransNusa was operating the Airbus A320 of narrow fuselage for its opening route Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur instead of the ARJ21 configured for 95 seats that was currently destined to serve the domestic market of Indonesia.
