Aerolínea española obtiene mejores resultados históricos
International Airlines Group (IAG) presume del gran desempeño de Iberia Líneas Aéreas de España en los tres primeros meses del año 2023, periodo en el cual el holding aéreo ha perdido € 87 millones de Euros, nueve veces menos que en el mismo tramo de 2022, cuando fueron € 787 millones.
El grupo IAG destaca en su comunicado: “una demanda especialmente fuerte en España y Latinoamérica, así como en las rutas a Estados Unidos, ha dado lugar a los mejores resultados en un primer trimestre en la historia de Iberia, que se convirtió en una de las aerolíneas más rentables del mundo en el primer trimestre de 2023. La demanda de viajes de negocios está recuperándose ligeramente más rápido que en otras aerolíneas”.
Vueling, aerolínea low cost miembro del grupo, señala que su estrategia de incrementar la capacidad a destinos de ocio durante la temporada invernal “ha mejorado los ingresos unitarios y los coeficientes de ocupación, lo que también se traduce en unos ingresos complementarios más altos y sostenibles”.
En conjunto, IAG cierra el trimestre con un beneficio operativo de € 9 millones de Euros, frente a las pérdidas de € 741 millones de hace un año. Es el primer resultado positivo en un primer trimestre desde 2019. Sus ingresos ascienden a € 5.889 millones, un 71,4% más que en el mismo periodo de 2022, mientras que su deuda neta baja un 19,1%, situándose en € 8.398 millones. El grupo resalta que las perspectivas para el verano son alentadoras, con alrededor del 80% de los ingresos previstos para el segundo trimestre ya reservados. “En este momento esperamos que nuestro beneficio de las operaciones antes de partidas excepcionales para el conjunto del año 2023 sea superior al rango más alto de nuestra anterior previsión de entre 1.800 millones y 2.300 millones”, concluye en el comunicado.

Together, IAG closes the quarter with an operational benefit of € 9 million, compared to the losses of € 741 million Euros a year ago. It is the first positive result in a first quarter since 2019. Its income amounts to € 5,889 million, 71.4% more than in the same period of 2022, while its net debt drops by 19.1%, standing at € 8,398 millions. The group emphasizes that the perspectives for summer are encouraging, with about 80% of the income planned for the second quarter already reserved. “At this time we hope that our benefit of operations before exceptional items for the whole of the year 2023 will be higher than the highest range of our previous forecast of between 1.8 billion and 2.3 billion”, he concludes in the statement.
