Ryanair confirma acuerdo por 150 aviones 737-10 MAX

La especulación había estado creciendo por un anuncio después de que el CEO de la compañía Michael O’Leary dijera en Marzo de 2023 que Boeing y Ryanair habían reiniciado las conversaciones. Según los informes, un acuerdo se había roto dieciocho meses antes sobre los precios de la aeronave por un mega pedido. Expansión flota 737 MAX

The Boeing Company and Ryanair announced that the low-cost airline in Europe has selected the largest 737 MAX model to boost its future growth with an order of up to 300 airplanes. The purchase agreement is the largest in Ryanair’s history and includes a firm order of 150 737-10 aircraft and options for 150 more.
Ryanair has deployed a growing fleet of aircraft 737-8 MAX 200 to accelerate its recovery after the pandemic and meet the strong demand for travel. Model 737-8 200 of 197 seats has helped the airline reduce the use of fuel and emissions by more than 20% compared to the planes they are replacing. The new order adds the largest 737-10 variant, which offers Ryanair 228 seats and the best unity economy of any single corridor plane.
“Ryanair is pleased to sign this record order of airplanes up to 300 max 10 with our Boeing aircraft partner. These new ecological and low fuel consumption aircraft offer 21% more seats, consume 20% less fuel And they are 50% more silent than our Boeing 737-NG”, said Michael O’Leary, CEO of the Ryanair group.

Speculation had been growing over an announcement after company CEO Michael O’Leary said in March 2023 that Boeing and Ryanair had restarted talks. An agreement had reportedly broken down eighteen months earlier over prices for the aircraft for a mega order. Although Michael O’Leary admitted that talks were in the early stages, he seemed excited that a deal was near. “We’re back talking to them, which I think is an indication that there’s some price movement […] I think there’s a deal to be made”, Michael O’Leary said.
Rumors have grown that Ryanair will place an order for a large number of aircraft on May 8, 2023. Ryanair plans to firmly purchase 150 of the 737-10 MAX aircraft, the largest version of the fourth-generation line, along with an option for 150 additional orders. The order is the largest for the European low-cost airline, as it aims to update its fleet. Each of the planes will have 228 passenger seats.
Ryanair’s current order for the Boeing 737 MAX brings the total number of MAXs ordered by the Irish LCC to 360 units. According to Boeing’s order books, the airline placed one hundred (100) firm orders in November 2014, ten (10) in June 2017, twenty-five (25) in March 2018, and seventy-five (75) in December 2018. 2020.

Expansion Flota 737 MAX
The leading low cost company in Europe, Ryanair, currently only flies the Boeing 737-8 MAX 200, a condensed version of 737-8 MAX equipped with an additional set of emergency exits to increase the number of seats to 197 high-density. As the orders are concretized, the Boeing 737-10 MAX will allow Ryanair to transport even more passengers on their routes.
Ryanair revealed that his Boeing 737-10 MAX aircraft will have 228 seats 21% more than their Boeing 737-800 and 5% more than the Boeing 737-8 MAX 200.
