Vuelo sobrepasó final de la pista en Salvador de Bahía
Un Embraer ERJ-195-E2, registro PS-AED de la aerolínea Azul Linhas Aéreas realizando el vuelo AD-4372 despegaba el 9 de Mayo de 2023 desde el Aeropuerto Campinas/Viracopos/VCP en el Estado de São Paulo (SP) hacia el Aeropuerto Salvador de Bahía/SSA (BA) Brasil, aterrizó en la Pista 17 de Salvador a las 01:26L (04:26Z) pero invadió el final de la pista por unos 36 metros y se detuvo en la hierba más allá de la superficie pavimentada. No se reportaron pasajeros, tripulación ni personas fuera de la aeronave heridos ni daños visibles en la aeronave.
El incidente ocurrió en el vuelo AD4372 que partió del Aeropuerto de Viracopos, en Campinas, con destino a la capital de Bahía. El avión Embraer E-195-E2 con matrícula PS-AED invadió el final de la Pista 17 al aterrizar, terminando en terreno blando y anegadizo.
El avión llegó al Aeropuerto de Salvador a tiempo, a la 01:35 am del día 10/05. La aerolínea no dijo por qué el avión no pudo detenerse en la pista. En una nota, el Portavoz del Aeropuerto de Salvador Bahía destacó que el lugar donde se detuvo el avión es un área de seguridad que está diseñada para este propósito, en situaciones donde la aeronave excede los límites de la pista. La Pista 17/35 proporciona una longitud de solo 1518 metros.

La aerolínea low cost Flybondi vuela actualmente a la Provincia de Chubut en la ruta entre Buenos Aires a Puerto Madryn y Buenos Aires con Comodoro Rivadavia con una frecuencia semanal y diaria, respectivamente. American Airlines sumará vuelos a Nueva York y Miami
La compañía aérea American Airlines ha anunciado que incorporará más frecuencias en las rutas Buenos Aires/EZE—New York/JFK y Buenos Aires/EZE—Miami/MIA entre dos y tres vuelos diarios en la temporada alta. El incremento de los servicios permitirá un aumento de la capacidad de un 20% de asientos disponibles para viajar a ambas ciudades.
American Airlines anunció que ampliará sus operaciones en el Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini/Ezeiza durante la temporada de verano meridional 2023-2024, entre el 21 de Diciembre de 2023 al 29 de Marzo de 2024 la compañía aumentará sus frecuencias con Miami de 18 a 21 vuelos semanales. La ruta será operada por aeronaves Boeing 777-300 con capacidad para 304 pasajeros, y Boeing 787-8 con capacidad para 234 pasajeros. A partir del 5 de Diciembre de 2023 y hasta el 13 de Febrero de 2024, la aerolínea aumentará sus vuelos diarios a Nueva York a 10 vuelos semanales, operados por aviones Boeing 777-200 con capacidad para 273 pasajeros, con cabinas Flagship, business y premium economy. “Las aeronaves tienen interiores de última generación, Wi-Fi de alta velocidad y cientos de películas y programas de televisión on-demand en cada asiento”, dijo la compañía aérea. Con estas frecuencias adicionales, American ofrecerá hasta seis vuelos diarios durante la temporada alta desde Buenos Aires a tres destinos en Estados Unidos, incluyendo hasta tres vuelos al día a Miami/MIA, dos vuelos al día a Nueva York/JFK y un servicio diario a Dallas/Fort Worth/DFW.

Cuota Mercado Según estadísticas publicadas por la Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC), durante Abril 2023 American Airlines transportó a 41.044 pasajeros en vuelos en el Aeropuerto Ezeiza, alcanzando una leve mejora del 0,74% en la cantidad de pasajeros transportados con relación al mismo mes del año 2022. American ha tenido el mejor nivel de ocupación que registró el mes pasado en sus vuelos internacionales con un 90% en promedio, superando a United Airlines (86%), Aerolíneas Argentinas (85%) y Delta Air Lines (85%), entre otras compañías. Sin embargo, los números de American Airlines han disminuidos levemente en comparación a Abril del 2022, cuando alcanzó un nivel de ocupación del 95%.
Las compañías aéreas con mayor cuota en el transporte aéreo internacional son Aerolíneas Argentinas (24%) y LATAM Airlines (16%), de acuerdo al último informe publicado por la ANAC. American Airlines posee actualmente el 5% de cuota de mercado aéreo internacional argentino, igualando en el tercer lugar del podio junto a Iberia, GOL Linhas Aéreas y Copa Airlines. Los datos entre Enero a Abril 2023, reportan que American Airlines realizó 858 vuelos entre Estados Unidos-Argentina, alcanzando un crecimiento del 42% en relación al mismo período del año pasado de 603 vuelos. También registró una mejora del 54% en la cantidad de pasajeros internacionales transportados durante el primer cuatrimestre, pasando de 136.000 en 2022 a 210.000 en 2023. La firma estadounidense trae el 5% de las importaciones que se realizan por vía aérea y tiene una participación del 14% en las cargas de exportación, siendo la empresa con mayor peso en esa rama del negocio.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) ha firmado un Memorando de Entendimiento (MoU) publicado el Miércoles 10/05 con Airbus Group para la compra de nueve A350-1000 (9). En el marco del proyecto Ultra Long Haul Fleet de la aerolínea filipina, el A350-1000 operará en servicios sin escalas desde Manila a América del Norte, incluida la costa este de EE.UU. y Canadá.
El nuevo avión se unirá a dos A350-900 que ya están en servicio en la aerolínea y actualmente vuelan a destinos en América del Norte, Asia y Australia. Al igual que con el A350-900, los PAL A350-1000 se configurarán en un diseño premium con cabinas separadas de Business Class, Premium Economy y Economy Class.
El Capitán Stanley K.
