Estreno nueva terminal del Aeropuerto Faustino Sarmiento
En el marco del Plan de Modernización del Transporte Aéreo que impulsa el Gobierno de Argentina, a través del Ministerio de Transporte que conduce Diego Giuliano, comenzó a operar la Nueva Terminal del Aeropuerto de San Juan (UAQ). Con el fin de mejorar y hacer más cómoda la experiencia de viaje para los pasajeros y pasajeras de unos de los aeropuertos internacionales más importantes de la región, se completó la primera etapa de las obras.
La cartera nacional qdel Ministro Transporte continúa avanzando en la modernización de los aeropuertos argentinos. Es así que en un trabajo coordinado con el Organismo Regulador del Sistema Nacional de Aeropuertos (ORSNA) y Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, comenzó a operar la primera etapa de la Nueva Terminal de Pasajeros del Aeropuerto Internacional Domingo Faustino Sarmiento de la Ciudad de San Juan.
En la planta baja de la nueva terminal se habilitó el hall central con doce nuevos puestos de check-in con un diseño inspirado en las cadenas montañosas del Valle de la Luna; un nuevo carrusel de equipaje para las partidas, sanitarios, locales comerciales, nuevas oficinas de las líneas aéreas y organismos. Posee dos niveles de estructuras de hormigón y metal que se emplazan en una zona de peligrosidad sísmica 4, brindando gran seguridad arquitectónica antisísmica. En el segundo piso, se sitúa la nueva sala de preembarque con vistas al cerro “Pie de Palo” y una pasarela telescópica para abordar directamente al avión.
Tras un trabajo en conjunto entre ORSNA y AA2000, se concretó un edificio moderno, con tecnología de vanguardia. Es así que la nueva terminal incluye un nuevo embarque doméstico y una nueva manga. En esta primera etapa también se incorporaron una nueva subestación transformadora de energía eléctrica; un nuevo edificio técnico de agua potable; un nuevo edificio técnico de tanques de incendio y una nueva planta de tratamiento. Con esta inauguración, queda desafectada la vieja terminal la cual será demolida en los próximos días sin verse afectada la operatividad del aeropuerto, dando comienzo a la segunda etapa de las obras. Se prevé que para cuando finalicen las obras de la siguiente etapa, la nueva terminal contará con una superficie total de 5.396m2.
Estas importantes y necesarias obras de infraestructura responden al creciente flujo de pasajeros: en lo que va de 2023 pasaron 58.536 pasajeros y pasajeras, en un total de 644 vuelos, reafirmando que el Aeropuerto Faustino Sarmiento es uno de los aeropuertos más importantes de la región, operando vuelos comerciales y privados, domésticos e internacionales. Además, cabe destacar que durante el mes de Mayo 2023 se espera mayor afluencia de turismo en la provincia debido a que San Juan oficiará como una de las sedes del Mundial Sub-20 de fútbol.
Con esta inauguración, el Ministerio de Transporte finalizó obras en veintisiete aeropuertos de todo el país en los últimos tres años y a través del Plan de Modernización del Transporte Aéreo, actualmente hay nueve aeropuertos con obra.

On the ground floor of the new terminal, the central hall was enabled with twelve new check-in positions with a design inspired by the mountainous chains of the Moon Valley; A new luggage carousel for the games, sanitary, commercial premises, new offices of the airlines and organisms. It has two levels of concrete and metal structures that are located in an area of seismic danger 4, providing great antisísmic architectural security. On the second floor, the new pre-mounted room is located with views of the “Palo de Palo” hill and a telescopic catwalk to board directly to the plane.
After a joint work between Orsna and AA2000, a modern building was completed, with avant-garde technology. Thus, the new terminal includes a new domestic shipment and a new manga. In this first stage, a new transforming substation of electricity was also incorporated; as a new technical drinking water building; A new technical building of fire tanks, and a new treatment plant. With this inauguration, the old terminal is disaffected, which will be demolished in the next few days without being affected the operations of the airport, beginning the second stage of the works. It is expected that by the end of the works of the next stage, the new terminal will have a total area of 5,396m2.
These important and necessary infrastructure works respond to the growing passenger flow: so far from 2023, 58,536 passengers and passengers passed, in a total of 644 flights, reaffirming that Faustino Sarmiento airport is one of the most important airports in the region, operating commercial and private, domestic and international flights.
