Caribbean Airlines reinicia operaciones en Venezuela

Caribbean Airlines, la aerolínea estatal de Trinidad y Tobago, reinició este Sábado 14/05, después de tres años, sus operaciones en Venezuela a través de la ruta Puerto España/POS—Caracas/CCS que desarrollará una frecuencia semanal (1Frq/S), informó el Instituto Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil (INAC). La compañía aéreas empleará para la ruta las aeronaves turboprop ATR 72-600 configurada para 68 pasajeros en clase Economy.

“Después de tres años, hoy reinició operaciones hacia nuestro país Caribbean Airlines de Trinidad y Tobago, la cual operará la ruta Puerto España—Maiquetía—Puerto España con una frecuencia semanal los días sábados“, dijo el INAC en un mensaje en su cuenta en Twitter.

El primer vuelo desde Puerto España llegó al Aeropuerto Internacional Simón Bolívar de Maiquetía, que sirve a Caracas, donde fue recibido por un tradicional arco de agua hecho por los bomberos para “bendecir el inicio de estas operaciones. Bajo el cumplimiento de las normas de seguridad operacional del Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquetía, los pasajeros llegaron a Venezuela en este vuelo que promete seguir diversificando la oferta de rutas aéreas desde y hacia nuestro país”, detalló el Instituto Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquetía (IAIM). Agregó, que en este viaje inaugural se completó la ruta con otro grupo de pasajeros que embarcó desde Caracas con destino a la capital de Trinidad y Tobago, sin detallar el número de personas que tomaron este primer vuelo.

El Embajador trinitario en Caracas, Edmund Dillon, estuvo presente en Maiquetía, donde saludó y entregó presentes a la tripulación de este primer viaje.

El pasado 7 de Abril de 2023, 110 turistas de Trinidad y Tobago llegaron a la isla venezolana de Margarita, ubicada en el sureste del mar Caribe, en el primer vuelo de la ruta aérea tipo chárter que conecta a ambos países caribeños y que estuvo paralizada durante ocho años. El Ministerio de Turismo informó entonces de que los trinitarios llegaron al Aeropuerto Internacional Santiago Mariño de la ciudad de Porlamar, que sirve a Margarita, en un vuelo de la aerolínea Rutaca.
