La aerolínea low cost irlandesa Ryanair estudia la viavilidad del cobro por el servicio de toallet enlos vuelos de la compañía. La Agencia Federal de Aviación (FAA) norteamericana como la Agencia Europea de Seguridad Aérea (EASA), han pedido a las aerolíneas permitan hacer uso de los baños de manera gratuita.
La primera reacción de las intenciones del lector podría ser una broma de mal gusto. No es la primera vez que esta compañía aérea con antecedentes agresivos a otras aerolíneas y usuarios del transporte hace este tipo de comentarios. Particularmente, Ryanair, una aerolínea de bajo costo ha sido acusada en reiteradas oportunidades por ofrecer servicios deficitarios. Acostumbran a anunciar una frase que parece chiste de mal gusto, pero en el trasfondo hacia el futuro resulta que comienzan a cobrar por el equipaje y todo servicio imaginable a bordo, es solo cuestión de tiempo antes de que cobren por usar el baño.
En un diario de Córdoba, España informa: “Acusan a Ryanair de cobrar por ir al baño en el avión y esta es su preocupante respuesta”. Primero la gente creía que era uno más de los rumores que suelen soltarse dentro del medio aeronáutico. Esta aerolínea irlandesa fundada en 1984 maneja más de 200 destinos, y es una de las principales creadoras del modelo de bajo costo que consiste en ofrecer al usuario tarifas muy bajas, pero que todo lo demás lo vende aparte, como la documentación del equipaje, el asiento, la selección del mismo y un largo etcétera que termina sumando un costo que en primera instancia no contempla el usuario de transporte.
Ryanair está acostumbrada a enfrentar graves problemas por la constante violación a los derechos laborales de los trabajadores. A principios de 2023 los diferentes sindicatos con los que mantiene contratación colectiva estallaron una huelga por ese motivo.
Cobro del baño
La compañía aérea, en la plataforma de TikTok, sacó un video en la que responden irónicamente a la pregunta: “¿Es cierto que vas a empezar a cobrar por ir al baño?” y vaya menuda respuesta que han dado. Utilizando de fondo un avión de la empresa, y el filtro de “Face features”, responde “Puede ser que sí. Puede ser que no, bravo”. Y en otro video más dicen que hicieron una encuesta y que por el momento no cobrarán por usar el baño en el avión. Esta es una estrategia de sondeo para medir que impacto tendrá, mientras que analizan las implementaciones a futuro. En otras palabras se burlan de la gente y los usuarios del transporte aéreo. La aerolínea debería ser nuevamente sancionada por conducta inapropiada.
El hecho de sondear el nivel de aceptación o rechazo que tendría esta nueva medida, la aerolínea está aprovechando que en la ley no hay nada al respecto de cobrar por utilizar los servicios sanitarios durante el vuelo. Pero aunque no exista una ley que lo impida, eso no le da derecho a vulnerar un servicio esencial para el cuerpo humano. La Administración Federal de Aviación de Estados Unidos como la Agencia Europea de Seguridad Aérea han hecho la petición expresa de que las aerolíneas norteamericanas y europeas permitan hacer uso de los baños de manera gratuita. La “innovadora idea” de Ryanair está siendo analizada con seriedad y verdadero interés, mientras la compañía aérea analiza implementarla. En el mundo de la aviación, como en la vida, existen límites, pero en este caso Ryanair ha sobrepasado todo lo racional.
