Embraer y Royal Jordanian acuerdan firma de compra
Embraer y el arrendador de aviación comercial Azorra Aviation anunciaron un nuevo acuerdo de ocho aviones para Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ), la aerolínea bandera de Jordania. El acuerdo alcanzado comprende ocho aviones comerciales, cuatro E190-E2 (4) y cuatro E195-E2 (4), con un precio de catálogo de US$ 635 millones de Dólares. Las entregas de las unidades se iniciarán en el cuarto trimestre de 2023 (4Q2023). Además, la compañía contempla la adquisición de dos unidades E195-E2 (2) que son encomendadas de manera directa del fabricante brasileño. Estas aeronaves figuraban como cartera de pedido no revelado en 4Q2022.
Sobre la base del anuncio hecho por Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) en Octubre de 2022, en el que la aerolínea reveló sus planes para expandir su flota con aviones de nueva generación, E2 fue elegido específicamente por su rendimiento superior y eficiencia operativa. El avión está alineado con los objetivos estratégicos de RJ para renovar y hacer crecer la flota que se despliega a destinos dentro del Levante. El plan estratégico de la aerolínea es impulsar aún más la posición de RJ como la aerolínea preferida en la región al ofrecer una conectividad mejorada a una red más amplia, posicionando a Amman como la principal puerta de entrada al Levante.
Las nuevas adquisiciones de aeronaves regionales permitirán a Royal Jordanian completar el plan estratégico de la aerolínea para impulsar su posición en la región ofreciendo una mejor conectividad y red de servicios desde su hub en Ammán.
Elección del E2-Jet
“Tras exhaustivos estudios de viabilidad, RJ eligió el E2 de Embraer por ser el que mejor se adapta a sus objetivos financieros y a su estrategia de red. RJ lleva 15 años operando con aviones Embraer, y el E2 reduce significativamente el costo de inversión en formación de pilotos y aprovisionamiento de piezas de repuesto, al tiempo que reduce los costos de programación y mantenimiento de la tripulación. El avión también proporciona un 25% de ahorro de combustible en comparación con los aviones actuales, lo que se traduce en un ahorro de costos operativos, así como en una reducción significativa de las emisiones de carbono, en apoyo de la estrategia y los objetivos medioambientales de la aerolínea. El E195-E2 tendrá capacidad en clase Crown (12) y Turista (108). El E190-E2, más pequeño, Clase Crown (12) y Turista (80). Todos los aviones cuentan con los característicos asientos 2×2 y asientos de clase Business con un impresionante espacio de 53 pulgadas para las piernas. La cabina económica contará con nuevos asientos estilizados, también en configuración de cuatro sin asiento central.
