Boeing obtiene nuevo cliente en África

ASKY Airlines firmó un contrato de arrendamiento de dos aviones Boeing 737-8 MAX (2) de segunda mano con la arrendataria AerCap Holdings. El acuerdo fue rubricado el Lunes 22/05 entre ambas compañías. Los dos 737 MAX se entregarán en Junio y Agosto 2023 a la aerolínea con sede en la República de Togo, en la África Occidental.

“Estamos encantados de dar la bienvenida a ASKY como nuevo cliente de AerCap y particularmente contentos de colocar el primer MAX en Togo. AerCap es el arrendador más grande de África con catorce clientes de aerolíneas en el continente”, dijo Aengus Kelly, CEO de AerCap.

“Considero un honor introducir aviones Boeing 737-8 MAX de última generación en la flota de ASKY, que apoyará nuestra amplia red regional en nuestro esfuerzo continuo por servir a nuestros estimados clientes”, dijo Esayas W. Hailu, CEO de ASKY.

ASKY fue fundada en Junio de 2008 para reemplazar a Air Afrique, que quebró en 2002. La aerolínea totalmente privada está controlada por EBID, BOAD y el Grupo ECOBANK en asociación con Ethiopian Airlines. ASKY Airlines tiene una flota con doce Boeing 737 Next Generation, cuatro 737-700 (4) y ocho 737-800 (8), ASKY tiene una red de vuelos que sirve a 26 ciudades en 24 países de África Central y Occidental.

Boeing gets a new customer in Africa

ASKY Airlines signed a lease of two Boeing 737-8 MAX (2) second-hand aircraft with the tenant AerCap Holdings. The agreement was signed on Monday 22/05 between both companies. The two 737 MAX will be delivered in June and August 2023 to the airline based in the Republic of Togo, in Western Africa.

“We are delighted to welcome ASKY as a new AerCap client and particularly happy to place the first MAX in Togo. AerCap is the largest landlord in Africa with fourteen airline customers in the continent”, said Aengus Kelly, CEO of AerCap.

“I consider it an honor to introduce Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft in the Asky’s fleet, which will support our wide regional network in our continuous effort to serve our estimated customers”, said W. Hailu, CEO of Asky.

ASKY was founded in June 2008 to replace Air Afrique, which broke up in 2002. The fully private airline is controlled by Ebid, Boad, and the Ecobank group in association with Ethiopian Airlines. ASKY Airlines has a fleet with twelve Boeing 737 Next Generation, four 737-700 (4), and eight 737-800 (8), Asky has a network of flights that serves 26 cities in 24 countries in central and western Africa.
