Slots quedarían disposición demás aerolíneas en caso liquidación
La agencia aeronáutica Aerocivil estudia el análisis de disposición de los slots de la aerolínea Viva Air. Tras tres meses desde que Viva Air detuvo sus operaciones de transporte aéreo, los cambios en el mercado no permitieron terminar el proceso de integración con Avianca Airlines, que les permitiría recibir un apoyo de capital. Otra opción fue el Proceso de Recuperación Empresarial (PRE), pero este tampoco se pudo hacer, por lo que la aerolínea se enfrenta a una posible liquidación. De accionarse este mecanismo, sus slots en el Aeropuerto Bogotá/El Dorado quedarían en manos de la Aeronáutica Civil, siendo la entidad encarga de asignar estos puestos en los aeropuertos.
Juan Felipe Reyes, Abogado aeronáutico de Parra Rodríguez Abogados, recalcó que, “si Viva Air se liquida los slots deben volver al fondo de reservas de slots para ser asignados en otras aerolíneas que los necesitan”. La normativa legal expresa que si los slots no se usan se pierde la titularidad en la aerolíneas.
La disponibilidad de los slots o franjas horarias, pueden ser solicitados por cualquier aerolínea, nacional e internacional, sin tener ninguna prioridad, pues está determinado dentro del Convenio de Chicago sobre igualdad de oportunidades para aerolíneas. Estos puestos podrían solicitarse, por parte de las aerolíneas, siempre y cuando se complete el proceso de liquidación a Viva Air.

The legal regulations express that if the slots are not used, ownership in the airlines is lost.
The availability of slots or time slots can be requested by any airline, national and international, without having any priority, since it is determined within the Chicago Agreement on equal opportunities for airlines. These positions could be requested, by the airlines, as long as the liquidation process is completed for Viva Air.
