Aerolíneas del grupo alcanzan certificación IEnvA
Las aerolíneas del Grupo SATA, SATA Air Açores y Azores Airlines, han conseguido hacerse con la certificación del programa IATA Environmental Assessment (IEnvA).De este modo se convierten así en las primeras aerolíneas portuguesas en obtener esta distinción. La certificación IEnvA, que las aerolíneas pueden solicitar de forma voluntaria, reconoce el compromiso asumido por las aerolíneas SATA Air Açores y Azores Airlines con la sostenibilidad ambiental y los esfuerzos realizados para reducir el impacto ambiental de sus operaciones.
Teresa Gonçalves, Presidenta del Consejo de Administración de SATA Holding, expresa que “este es un reconocimiento de IATA, a quien agradecemos el apoyo y la orientación que han sido fundamentales para el éxito de este proyecto. También es prueba de que contamos con equipos enfocados y dedicados, lo que hizo posible obtener esta certificación en tan solo un año. Mostraron una notable determinación y adaptabilidad. Estamos seguros de que esta certificación nos inspirará a continuar nuestro viaje hacia un futuro más verde y sostenible que afectará positivamente a nuestras aerolíneas y nuestro planeta”.
Con la certificación IEnvA completa (Etapa 2), las aerolíneas SATA Air Açores y Azores Airlines demostraron que están implementando políticas y procedimientos ambientales efectivos, tanto en la operación como en las áreas corporativas, y que están monitoreando el progreso para mejorar su desempeño ambiental. Además, esta certificación confirma simultáneamente el cumplimiento de la norma ISO 14001:2015, así como la Evaluación IWT (Illegal Wildlife Trafficking), que es un programa desarrollado para apoyar a la industria aérea en la sensibilización y seguimiento de la lucha contra el comercio ilegal de animales salvajes, en línea con la Declaración del Palacio de Buckingham.

The Iienva certification, which airlines can voluntarily request, recognizes the commitment assumed by the Air Açores and Azores Airlines airlines to environmental sustainability and efforts made to reduce the environmental impact of their operations.

With the complete IEnvA certification (stage 2), the SATA Air Açores and Azores Airlines airlines demonstrated that they are implementing effective environmental policies and procedures, both in the operation and in the corporate areas, and that they are monitoring progress to improve their environmental performance. In addition, this certification simultaneously confirms compliance with ISO 14001: 2015, as well as the IWT evaluation (Illegal Wildlife Trafficking), which is a program developed to support the air industry in the awareness and monitoring of the fight against illegal trade of wild animals, in line with the declaration of the Buckingham Palace.
