JetSMART Airlines Argentina recibirá en breve el noveno Airbus A320ceo. La aeronave operó anteriormente en Chile como CC-AWB, con la imagen en su deriva de un Martín Pescador. La nueva incorporación será matriculada en Argentina como LV-KJA.
La flota de aviones A320ceo fueron todos transferidos desde la filial JetSMART Airlines Chile. La flota actual de JetSMART AR está compuesta por Airbus A320ceo LV-HEK, LV-HVT, LV-IVN, LV-IVO, LV-JQE, LV-KDP, LV-KFO y LV-KFX.
La novena incorporación permitirá aumentar las frecuencias de vuelo durante la temporada de invierno en el país. La aerolínea low-cost ha anunciado la próxima ruta a San Martín de los Andes (CPC). JetSMART Argentina realizará Buenos Aires/AEP—San Martín de los Andes/CPC a partir del 3 de Julio de 2023 incorporando un nuevo destino turístico localizado en la Provincia de Neuquén.

JetSMART Airlines Argentina will shortly receive the ninth Airbus A320ceo. The aircraft previously operated in Chile as CC-AWB, with the image of a Martin Fisherman in its drift. The new addition will be registered in Argentina as LV-KJA.
The fleet of A320ceo aircraft was all transferred from the subsidiary JetSMART Airlines Chile. The current JetSMART AR fleet is made up of Airbus A320ceo LV-HEK, LV-HVT, LV-IVN, LV-IVO, LV-JQE, LV-KDP, LV-KFO, and LV-KFX.
The ninth addition will increase flight frequencies during the winter season in the country. The low-cost airline has announced the next route to San Martín de los Andes (CPC). JetSMART Argentina will carry out Buenos Aires/AEP—San Martín de los Andes/CPC as of July 3, 2023, incorporating a new tourist destination located in the Province of Neuquén.

Air Baltic, la aerolínea estatal letona ha anunciado la apertura de una base en el Aeropuerto Gando, Islas Canarias. La particular nueva base de operaciones se encuentra lejos de sus operaciones rutinarias en el Norte de Europa en Letonia, Estonia, Lituania, Finlandia, Noruega, Dinamarca y Suecia. La aerolínea se encuentra incorporando un modelo de viajes parecido a Norwegian Air, la aerolínea que llegó a tener una presencia importante en el archipiélago español.
La aerolínea letona destinará a las Islas Canarias aeronaves Airbus A220 para sus rutas aéreas. La compañía operará diez nuevas rutas aprovechando la temporada alta canaria, coincidiendo con el invierno en Europa. Operará 17 vuelos semanales a diez nuevas rutas en Finlandia, Lituania, Estonia, Noruega, Dinamarca y Suecia, utilizando dos aviones Airbus A220-300. La nueva temporada comenzará a finales de Octubre 2023 con vuelos disponibles para comprar online a partir del próximo Miércoles 21/06.
El Jefe del Departamento de Turismo, Carlos Álamo, dijo: “Somos muy afortunados, esta es una gran noticia para nuestro destino. Se trata de una de las operaciones más relevantes de los últimos tiempos, con una apuesta de un operador en constante crecimiento que se está instalando en nuestra isla y llega en un momento clave porque el mercado del norte de Europa, uno de los más fuertes para el turismo en Gran Canaria, había sufrido como consecuencia de la invasión rusa de Ucrania. Este compromiso confirma el enorme interés de los nórdicos y clientes de los Balcanes hacia este destino, y asegura una mayor presencia de turistas del norte de Europa en la próxima temporada de invierno”.

Latvian airline opens base in Canary Islands
Air Baltic, the Latvian state airline has announced the opening of a base at Gando Airport, Canary Islands. The particular new base of operations is far from its routine Northern European operations in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. The airline is incorporating a travel model similar to Norwegian Air, the airline that came to have a significant presence in the Spanish archipelago.
The Latvian airline will allocate Airbus A220 aircraft to the Canary Islands for its air routes. The company will operate ten new routes taking advantage of the Canarian high season, coinciding with winter in Europe. It will operate 17 weekly flights to ten new routes in Finland, Lithuania, Estonia, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, using two Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The new season will begin at the end of October 2023 with flights available to purchase online starting next Wednesday 06/21.
The Head of the Department of Tourism, Carlos Álamo, said: “We are very fortunate, this is great news for our destination. It is one of the most relevant operations in recent times, with a commitment from a constantly growing operator that is settling on our island and it comes at a key moment because the northern European market, one of the strongest for tourism in Gran Canaria, had suffered as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This commitment confirms the enormous interest of Nordics and customers from the Balkans towards this destination, and ensures a greater presence of tourists from northern Europe in the coming winter season”.

Los pilotos de la aerolínea española Air Europa irán a la huelga entre el 19 de Junio y el 2 de Julio de 2023 tras la ruptura de las negociaciones salariales, según anunció a última hora del Jueves 15/06 el principal sindicato de pilotos del país, SEPLA.
Los pilotos afirman que la empresa ha incumplido el preacuerdo alcanzado el 08/06 y no ha atendido sus demandas salariales y de condiciones de trabajo. Las propuestas salariales de Air Europa para los pilotos eran equivalentes a las de una aerolínea de bajo coste, dijo el sindicato en un comunicado. Un portavoz de Air Europa dijo que la empresa está abierta a seguir negociando.
España obliga a aerolíneas y pilotos a mantener un número mínimo de vuelos durante las huelgas, lo que supone menos restricciones en comparación con otros países.
British Airways e Iberia, ambas aerolíneas del grupo anglo-español International Airlines Group, acordaron en Febrero 2023 comprar a la española Globalia el 80% restante de Air Europa que aún no poseían por € 400 millones de Euros/US$ 438 millones de Dólares. El acuerdo aún necesita la aprobación de los organismos reguladores de Bruselas. Un primer intento de compra de la aerolínea en 2021 fracasó tras ser rechazado por los reguladores, ante la preocupación por la falta de competencia en las rutas a Latinoamérica. La aerolínea, que fue rescatada por el Estado español en 2020 con un préstamo de € 475 millones de Euros, mantendrá su marca pero será gestionada por Iberia.

The pilots of the Spanish airline Air Europa will go on strike between June 19 and July 2, 2023, after the breakdown of wage negotiations, as announced late on Thursday 06/15 by the country’s main pilot union, SEPLA.
The pilots affirm that the company has breached the preliminary agreement reached on 06/08 and has not met their demands for wages and working conditions. Air Europa’s salary proposals for pilots were equivalent to those of a low-cost airline, the union said in a statement. An Air Europa spokesman said the company is open to further negotiations.
Spain obliges airlines and pilots to maintain a minimum number of flights during strikes, which means fewer restrictions compared to other countries.
British Airways and Iberia, both airlines of the Anglo-Spanish International Airlines Group, agreed in February 2023 to buy the remaining 80% of Air Europa that they did not already own from the Spanish Globalia for € 400 million Euros/US$438 million Dollars. The deal still needs the approval of regulatory bodies in Brussels. A first attempt to buy the airline in 2021 failed after being rejected by regulators, amid concerns about the lack of competition on routes to Latin America. The airline, which was rescued by the Spanish State in 2020 with a loan of € 475 million Euros, will maintain its brand but will be managed by Iberia.

Volaris Airlines parte de Indigo Partners la realizado la firma de inversión a través de la que participaron en una ronda de US$ 50 millones que busca acelerar la producción de combustible sostenible en el mundo. Suscribió así, un acuerdo con otras aerolíneas con las que está relacionadas a través de la firma de capital privado Indigo Partners, para invertir en la startup de combustible sostenible CleanJoule. La financiación busca acelerar la producción de combustible sostenible en el mundo (SAF).
Indigo Parnters, que tiene participación minoritaria dentro de Volaris, la estadounidense Frontier Airlines y la europea Wizz Air, fueron parte de esta ronda de inversión de CleanJoule, dedicada a desarrollar tecnologías sustentables y que destinará esta inversión al desarrollo de su tecnología para producir SAF de alto rendimiento y rentable, a partir de residuos agrícolas y desechos orgánicos, dijo Volaris, en un comunicado. En la ronda también participaron GenZero, una plataforma de inversión centrada en la descarbonización de Temasek fondo gubernamental de Singapur, y Cleanhill Partners es una firma estadounidense de capital privado centrada en la descarbonización.
Como parte del acuerdo, Volaris Airlines junto con Frontier Airlines y Wizz Air acordaron adquirir en total 90 millones de galones de SAF, de los cuales a Volaris corresponde un estimado de 30 millones de galones. Esta inversión forma parte de los esfuerzos del sector por reducir sus emisiones contaminantes, al tiempo que eventualmente pueden encontrar alternativas más asequibles que reduzcan el costo que representa la turbosina, para lo cual otras compañías de México y el mundo ya trabajan.

Volaris Airlines is part of Indigo Partners, the investment firm through which they participated in a round of US$ 50 million that seeks to accelerate the production of sustainable fuel in the world. Thus, it signed an agreement with other airlines with which it is related through the private equity firm Indigo Partners, to invest in the sustainable fuel startup CleanJoule. This investment is part of the sector’s efforts to reduce its polluting emissions, while eventually finding more affordable alternatives that reduce the cost of jet fuel, for which other companies in Mexico and the world are already working.
