La compañía American Airlines ha anunciado el cierre de su división comercial en buena parte del continente europeo. La aerolínea ha copiado su estrategia de recorte de personal, que ha aplicado hace tres meses en Iberoamérica, con lo que ha determinado un proceso de cierre de oficinas comerciales propias en casi todos los países europeos donde, hasta ahora, tenía presencia comercial. Así, se elimina la división comercial de American en países como España, Reino Unido, Alemania, Italia, Francia y Suiza, ahorrándose todos los salarios directos del área Comercial.
De este modo, American Airlines centralizaría su faceta comercial en una única oficina en el viejo continente, ubicado en Liverpool, Reino Unido, y responsable de coordinar con terceros la venta de billetes y el resto de procesos comerciales.

Alaska Airlines ha anunciado la incorporación a su red internacional dos nuevas rutas a las Islas Bahamas para satisfacer la demanda de viajes de ocio. Azul Linhas Aéreas ha anunciado que excluye de sus planes de retorno de operaciones a la Argentina y Chile, dado que no los considera un mercado con condiciones atractivas para operar. La aerolínea brasileña que salió elegida la mejor de América latina en el ranking World Airline Awards en 2022 como más puntual de América latina, con un puntaje de 88,93%, continúa recuperándose de los efectos de la pandemia, mientras que restablece operaciones regionales.
La compañía aérea mantuvo operaciones en Argentina entre 2017 y principios de 2020 hasta la llegada de la crisis sanitaria mundial. El CEO de Azul, John Rodgerson, ha definido a Buenos Aires y Santiago de Chile como mercados financieramente inviables. El ejecutivo de la aerolínea no contempla “la oportunidad de ganar dinero”, mientras que mantiene contratos de código compartido con Copa Airlines, empresa con la que el mercado está satisfecho. Como parte de esta alianza, Copa Airlines comercializa vuelos con Brasil, con beneficios como la acumulación de millas ConnectMiles, un solo ticket aéreo hasta el destino final y equipaje registrado hasta el último destino del viaje. La aérea panameña cumplió 75 años en 2022 y actualmente opera vuelos entre su hub de Panamá y cuatro ciudades argentinas: Buenos Aires, Rosario, Córdoba y Mendoza. Desde su centro de conexión, ofrece viajes a más de 75 destinos. Asimismo, se prepara para reiniciar los servicios con Salta, donde operó hasta la pandemia, y ampliar el número de frecuencias aéreas en función del crecimiento de la demanda.
Para Azul Linhas Aéreas, la Argentina, donde operó vuelos hasta 2020, no es un mercado rentable. En 2021 había argumentado problemas vinculados al tipo de cambio en la Argentina como obstáculo para el regreso al país, pese a que la Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC) autorizó a la aerolínea a volar entre la Argentina y Brasil con servicios regulares de pasajeros y carga utilizando equipos de gran porte.
El mercado brasileño es el más relevante a nivel regional para la Argentina, con un intercambio de más de 1,4 millones de pasajeros entre Enero y Mayo de 2023, según datos de la ANAC. Actualmente, el mercado entre ambos países está servido por cinco aerolíneas: Aerolíneas Argentinas, GOL Linhas Aéreas, LATAM Airlines, y las de bajo costo Flybondi y JetSMART Airlines. Por este motivo, sumado a los anteriores, Azul Linhas Aéreas no encuentra una motivación para retomar operaciones en Argentina, mientras que en el mercado de Chile, observa que está bien atendida por LATAM Airlines y las low-cost JetSMART Airlines y SKY Airline.
Luego de una larga negociación con sus lessors, la aérea reestructuró su deuda de más de R$ 20.000 millones de Reales y se prepara para volver a crecer en destinos que definió como estratégicos. Desde que reactivó sus vuelos tras el levantamiento de las restricciones sanitarias, llevó adelante una reorganización de sus operaciones en la región, aumentando la presencia en algunos mercados por sobre otros. Por caso, intensificó la conectividad en Uruguay, con más servicios en Montevideo y Punta del Este.
En este contexto, John Rodgerson adelantó que habrá más vuelos en el segundo semestre, especialmente desde las ciudades del nordeste de Brasil. Azul ha abierto nuevas rutas como Recife—Fort Lauderdale y Belo Horizonte—Curazao. La nueva demanda de rutas permitirá a la aerolínea brasileña incorporar nuevas aeronaves antes de fin de año de un Airbus A320neo y seis Embraer E2-Jets, pero estima que demandará más aeronaves para su próximo crecimiento. Estelar incorpora nueva frecuencia Caracas-Santiago de Chile
La aerolínea venezolana Aerolíneas Estelar informó la reanudación de sus vuelos directos entre Caracas y Santiago de Chile, con una nueva frecuencia semanal a partir del próximo 4 de Julio de 2023. La nueva frecuencia desde Caracas será a las 10:00 a.m. y llegará a las 07:30 p.m., hora de Santiago, los días Martes. Los días Miércoles la hora de salida desde Santiago será a las 07:00 a.m. y arribará a la 04:30 p.m. hora de Caracas.
Representantes de la aerolínea, primera en anunciar vuelos entre Chile y Venezuela, que anteriormente se realizaban con escala en Panamá, sostuvieron un encuentro con el Presidente del Instituto Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil (INAC) Juan Manuel Teixeira, con el objetivo de evaluar la viabilidad de otros proyectos de conectividad nacional e internacional.
Vuelos a Caracas La aerolínea colombina Wingo anunció la apertura de cuatro vuelos semanales entre Bogotá y Caracas, y según el CEO Eduardo Lombana expresó, “será para el segundo semestre de este año y la idea es poder llegar a las frecuencias diarias”.

More than 8,000 US flights delayed or canceled by severe storms
Disruptions for air travelers continued on Tuesday 06/27 for a fourth day with more than 8,000 flights across the United States delayed or canceled after powerful storms tore through parts of the country, including in the Mid-Atlantic and parts of the Northeast where many busy centers.
Data from FlightAware showed that, as of Tuesday afternoon, more than 6,500 flights in or out of the United States were delayed and more than 1,900 were canceled. Still, that’s a major decrease from the chaos on Monday, when more than 11,000 flights were delayed or canceled due to severe weather and air traffic control personnel issues.
United Airlines was once again the worst of America’s domestic airlines. About 19% of its schedule, or 548 flights, was canceled and another 43%, or 1,236 flights, were delayed just before 09:00 p.m. ET. Republic Airways, which operates feeder flights for American Airlines, Delta, and United, had 39% of its schedule canceled with some 375 flights.
On Tuesday 06/27 night, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) implemented temporary ground stops for flights going to the three main airports in the New York metropolitan area. Average departure delays from LaGuardia are more than two hours, according to an FAA advisory, and more than four hours for flights to the airport.

Aproximan lanzamiento 1 Julio 2023 Implementación aerolíneas no estarían preparadas
La implementación de la tecnología de Quinta Generación (5G) a bordo de las aeronaves podría causar retrasos y cancelaciones en la aviación estadounidense. Las aerolíneas como Delta Air Lines y JetBlue Airways informan no estar preparadas completamente para adoptar el 5G a bordo el próximo 1 de Julio de 2023.
La implementación del 5G a bordo el próximo 01/07 en la aviación de estados Unidos podría causar diversos problemas en la navegación aérea al poder interferir con los altímetros de los aviones. Así lo ha anunciado el Secretario de Transporte de Estados Unidos, Pete Buttigieg, quien ha explicado que puede haber algunos retrasos o cancelaciones en las aerolíneas, pues el 65% de los aviones aun no han actualizado sus altímetros para estar homologados con la interferencia 5G. Las líneas aéreas como Delta Air Lines y JetBlue Airways, que disponen de 190 aviones y 17 aviones en circulación respectivamente, han anunciado que no estarán preparadas al completo para adoptar el 5G en sus aviones el próximo 1 de Julio de 2023.
Desde la Administración Federal de Aviación (FAA) sostienen que las señales de Banda C de 5G podrían llegar a interferir con los emisores de ondas de radio que utilizan los aviones de pasajeros y que se utilizan para medir la distancia a la que se encuentran del suelo, siendo además una de las herramientas en las que los pilotos depositan su confianza cuando tienen que aterrizar con poca visibilidad.
Por su parte, el grupo global de aerolíneas Asociación Internacional de Transporte Aéreo (IATA) ha informado que las aerolíneas van a hacer «todo lo posible» para evitar interrupciones y que tratarán de adaptar todos sus aviones con los altímetros requeridos. Es el caso de Air India quien anunció que toda su flota estaba actualizada y preparada para la introducción del 5G.
Para la asociación comercial Airlines for America (A4A) este retraso se debe a los problemas actuales en la cadena de suministro global así como a las dificultades para cumplir con la fecha límite.
La expansión del 5G a bordo se vio obstaculizada en 2021 debido a la preocupación de la Administración Federal de Aviación sobre la interferencia con el equipo de aviación. Aerolíneas Argentinas a partir 03/07 vuelo diario regional
Aerolíneas Argentinas iniciará el próximo 3 de Julio de 2023, la frecuencia de un vuelo diario directo Bariloche/BRC—São Paulo/GRU, Brasil. Tal como se había anunciado oportunamente, la compañía argentina iniciará el enlace entre la ciudad de San Carlos de Bariloche y la ciudad brasilera de São Paulo hacia el Aeropuerto Guarulhos.
La compañía aérea tendrá siete frecuencias semanales (7Frq/S) saliendo los vuelos desde São Paulo a las 01:00 [Hora Local] y arribando a Bariloche a las 07:00 [Hora Local]. Empleará aeronaves Boeing 737-800 Next Generation y Boeing 737-8 MAX, con una configuración para 170 pasajeros en dos clases 8 en Clase Economy Club y 162 en Clase Economy.
La compañía tiene el agrado de realizar nuevamente, como en el 2022, los vuelos regionales con siete frecuencias semanales que conectarán a ambas ciudades y permitirá traer brasileños al destino turístico de Bariloche y su zona de influencia, al mismo tiempo que los ciudadanos del sur del país podrán visitar la región paulistana.
Mediante un comunicado del Secretario de Turismo Municipal de Bariloche, Gastón Burlón, expresó “desde el 3 de Julio, los vuelos diarios entre Brasil y Bariloche comenzarán a operar de manera cotidiana, saliendo a la 1 de la madrugada desde San Pablo y llegando a Bariloche a las 7 de la mañana”.
Esta ruta se suma a los vuelos charters de operadores brasileros, lo que augura una llegada masiva de visitantes del país vecino en esta temporada invernal para disfrutar de la codiciada nieve para los visitantes brasileños.

Aerolínea operará vuelos desde Fortaleza a Bogotá y Buenos Aires
La aerolínea brasileña GOL Linhas Aéreas operará las rutas Fortaleza/FOR—Bogotá/BOG y Fortaleza/FOR—Buenos Aires/EZE con dos vuelos semanales (2Frq/S) en ambas rutas que permitirá conectar el Noreste de Brasil con estas importantes ciudades en Sudamérica de manera directa, según anunció el Lunes 26/06 el Gobierno de Ceará.
El Gobernador, Elmano de Freitas, recibió a directivos de la empresa aérea para oficializar los vuelos, que tuvieron uno en carácter experimental el último Sábado 24/06 entre el Aeropuerto Buenos Aires/Jorge Newbery/AEP y Fortaleza.
Los vuelos para las capitales de Colombia y Argentina se han anunciado para comenzar a operar en Octubre 2023 y la venta de los billetes aéreos será a partir de Julio 2023 tras definir el organigrama de vuelos.
Incentivos en Ceará El Gobierno de Ceará concede una reducción en el impuesto aplicado a la tarifa de los combustibles de las aerolíneas que abren o retoman rutas internacionales, cuya alícuota pasará del 12% al 6%.
Con el anuncio, GOL tendrá cinco rutas semanales desde Fortaleza, pues había anunciado un vuelo entre esa capital del noreste brasileño y Miami, en Estados Unidos. En el puerto, localizado en São Gonçalo de Amarante, región metropolitana de Fortaleza, se construye el llamado Hub de Hidrógeno Verde, que cuenta con treinta acuerdos para la instalación de empresas internacionales e inversiones por US$ 8.000 millones de Dólares.

Las operaciones del Aeropuerto Quito/Mariscal Sucre/UIO de Ecuador se verán limitadas como parte de las obras de mejoras de la única Pista 18/36 de la aeroestación. La idea es no afectar el tráfico de pasajeros el tiempo que duren las operaciones de mantenimiento de la pista. Las aerolíneas preparan un plan de contingencia para aplicar durante el plazo del mantenimiento.
Los trabajos están previstos para los Sábados 2, 9, 16, 23 y 30 de Septiembre de 2023, y los Sábados 14, 21 y 28 de Octubre de 2023. Durante esos días se realizará un mantenimiento preventivo de la pista y se cerrarán las operaciones del aeropuerto. Las obras se ejecutarán desde las 02:00 hasta las 14:00, informó la Corporación Quiport.
Luis Galárraga, Gerente de Comunicación de Quiport, explica que una vez que se conozcan los cambios que realicen las aerolíneas, se informará a la ciudadanía por canales oficiales. Recomienda a las personas que tienen vuelos programados para esos días, se comuniquen con las aerolíneas para conocer las opciones que les ofrezcan. Quiport preparará cuadros informativos para garantizar claro acceso a la información. Además, precisa que se escogió los sábados para realizar el mantenimiento debido al poco tráfico que existe, sobre todo en vuelos nacionales. Según Luis Galárraga, entre semana hay más personas que se movilizan en vuelos domésticos.
