Boliviana Amaszonas en riesgo perder sus aeronaves
La aerolínea boliviana Amaszonas podría perder sus únicos cuatro aviones en los próximos días si no encuentra una solución para la deuda que tiene con GY Aviation Lease 1816 Co. Limited, parte del grupo CBD Aviation. La autoridad de aviación civil del país otorgó a la compañía cinco días para resolver los problemas pendientes relacionados con el arrendamiento de cuatro E190 con CDB Aviation a riesgo de que las aeronaves pierdan registros. GY Aviation Lease arrendó cuatro aviones Embraer E190 a la aerolínea, pero solicitó a la Dirección General da Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC) que cancelara el registro de la aeronave debido a la falta de pago de las cuotas de arrendamiento por parte de Amaszonas.
La aerolínea, controlada por Nella Group, está tratando de evitar la cancelación del registro de los aviones mientras discute el monto de la deuda. Según GY Aviation, serían de US$ 17 millones, mientras que Amaszonas considera un valor de US$ 11 millones.
La DGAC había otorgado diez días para que la aerolínea resolviera el problema, pero redujo el plazo a cinco días hasta el 9 de Agosto de 2023, para regularizar los pagos de arrendamiento l por las aeronaves E190. De los cuatro aviones, solo dos están en servicio, registro CP-3135 y CP-3171. Un tercer avión ha estado inactivo durante varios meses, mientras que el E190 de registro CP-3145 voló a la sede de Embraer el 14 de Junio de 2023 para su mantenimiento.
Fondo de inversión estadounidense
Amaszonas Líneas Aéreas fue fundada en 1998 y tiene su sede en Santa Cruz de La Sierra, Bolivia. Los vuelos comerciales comenzaron en 2000 con solo operaciones fletadas en pequeños turbohélices. En 2012, con la quiebra de AeroSur, Amaszonas se hizo cargo de cinco aviones CRJ200 que iniciaron vuelos regulares. La aerolínea atravesó una crisis financiera que le hizo perder su Certificado de Operador Aéreo (OAC), pero en 2021 Nella Linhas Aéreas, propiedad del empresario Mauricio Sousa, adquirió todo su capital.
El plan era que Amaszonas recibiera aviones Boeing 737 y ampliara su operación, pero la red permaneció restringida en los meses siguientes. La aerolínea debería recibir una contribución de fondos de inversionistas estadounidenses. La Autoridad de Telecomunicaciones y Transportes (ATT), a su vez, notificó a Amaszonas que solo vendiera boletos de avión con tres días de anticipación, por temor a una posible suspensión de vuelos.

Bolivian Amaszonas at risk of losing its aircraft
The Bolivian airline Amaszonas could lose its only four planes in the next few days if it does not find a solution for the debt it has with GY Aviation Lease 1816 Co. Limited, part of the CBD Aviation group. The country’s civil aviation authority has given the company five days to resolve outstanding issues related to leasing four E190s with CDB Aviation at the risk of the aircraft losing registrations. GY Aviation Lease leased four Embraer E190 aircraft from the airline but requested the Dirección General da Aeronáutica Civil (DGAC) to cancel the aircraft’s registration due to non-payment of lease fees by Amaszonas.
The airline, controlled by Nella Group, is trying to avoid deregistration of the planes while it disputes the amount of the debt. According to GY Aviation, it would be US$17 million, while Amaszonas considers a value of US$11 million.
The DGAC had granted ten days for the airline to resolve the problem, but reduced the term to five days until August 9, 2023, to regularize the lease payments for the E190 aircraft. Of the four aircraft, only two are in service, registration CP-3135 and CP-3171. A third aircraft has been idle for several months, while the E190 registration CP-3145 flew to Embraer’s headquarters on June 14, 2023, for maintenance.
US investment fund
