Mexicana Aviación retornará a los cielos 4Q2023

El Gobierno de México ha adquirido la marca Mexicana de Aviación por un total de MX$ 815 millones de Pesos Mexicanos. En un acuerdo histórico y luego de un turbulento proceso para adquirir la marca, el Gobierno Federal formalizó la compra de Mexicana de Aviación y la recuperación de la aerolínea después del cese de operaciones el 28 de Agosto de 2010.

Tras trece años de puesta en tierra, trabajadores lucharon por recuperar una parte de sus indemnizaciones tras la quiebra de la aerolínea. La Secretaria de Gobernación, Luisa María Alcalde Luján, manifestó la satisfacción del Ejecutivo por el consenso con los más de 7.000 trabajadores para que el proyecto aeronáutico eche a volar en diciembre próximo, a cargo de la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (Sedena). Tras repasar la historia de la aerolínea, la funcionaria detalló que la Administración federal logró un acuerdo por un monto de MX$ 815 millones de Pesos, cantidad que será destinada a compensaciones por las indemnizaciones del personal a partir del próximo Martes 15/08 entre 7.407 trabajadores.

El Miércoles 09/08 el Gobierno Federal de México formalizó la compra del nombre y algunos activos de la marca, que arrastraba problemas financieros desde Agosto de 2010 y fue declarada en quiebra en Abril de 2014; no obstante, aún está por concluir la adquisición de tres inmuebles y un simulador de vuelo.

Durante su intervención, el Secretario de la Defensa Nacional, Luis Crescencio Sandoval, informó que la aerolínea Mexicana de Aviación contribuirá a aumentar la conectividad de los diferentes servicios aéreos, de pasajeros, carga y correo.

La nueva Mexicana de Aviación lucirá una nueva identidad visual con los colores distintivos de la bandera nacional rojo, blanco y verde, mientras que el isotipo continuará vigente. La flota estará conformada por diez (10) aviones Boeing 737-800 en una configuración para 180 pasajeros en una sola clase. La aerolínea recibirá tres aeronaves hacia el 30/09, mientras que las siete restantes hacia el 30/10.

El restablecimiento de las operaciones de Mexicana de Aviación continúa para definirse aproximadamente hacia Diciembre 2023 con su centro de operaciones en el Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles (AIFA). La nueva Mexicana permitirá garantizar un servicio de calidad a un costo accesible, asegurando que el precio de los boletos será entre 18 y 20 por ciento menor que las aerolíneas comerciales. El inicio de la venta de tickets se iniciará a partir de Septiembre 2023.

Mexicana de Aviación ha informado de las próximas veinte rutas que iniciarán para conectar en rutas domésticas en México: Acapulco, Campeche, Cancún, Chetumal, Ciudad Juárez, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Huatulco, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, La Paz, León, Los Cabos, Mazatlán, Mérida, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, Tijuana y Villahermosa.

Desde el Gobierno sostienen que Mexicana de Aviación comenzará a tener rentabilidad a partir de 2025, luego de la inversión inicial de MX$ 4.000 millones de Pesos, que incluye la renta, mantenimiento, combustible, entre otros ítems. La aerolínea insignia de de México que inició operaciones el 12 de Julio de 1921 es considerada una delas más antiguas del mundo, junto con KLM Airlines y Avianca Airlines. Ahora, tras el quiebras, Mexicana de Aviación retornará a los cielos de México y el mundo buscando restablecer aquella gloria que supo tener en su pasado.

Mexicana Aviation will return to the skies on 4Q2023

The Government of Mexico has acquired the Mexicana de Aviación brand for a total of MX$ 815 million Mexican Pesos. In a historic agreement and after a turbulent process to acquire the brand, the Federal Government formalized the purchase of Mexicana de Aviación and the recovery of the airline after the cessation of operations on August 28, 2010.

After thirteen years of grounding, workers fought to recover a part of their compensation after the bankruptcy of the airline. The Secretary of the Interior, Luisa María Alcalde Luján, expressed the Executive’s satisfaction with the consensus with the more than 7,000 workers for the aeronautical project to start flying next December, under the responsibility of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena). After reviewing the history of the airline, the official explained that the federal Administration reached an agreement for an amount of MX$ 815 million Pesos, an amount that will be allocated to compensation for staff indemnities starting next Tuesday 08/15 between 7,407 workers.

On Wednesday 09/08 the Federal Government of Mexico formalized the purchase of the name and some assets of the brand, which had financial problems since August 2010 and was declared bankrupt in April 2014; however, the acquisition of three buildings and a flight simulator is yet to be completed.

During his speech, the Secretary of National Defense, Luis Crescencio Sandoval, informed that the Mexicana de Aviación airline will contribute to increasing the connectivity of the different air, passenger, cargo, and mail services.

The new Mexicana de Aviación will display a new visual identity with the distinctive colors of the red, white, and green national flag, while the logo will remain in force. The fleet will consist of ten (10) Boeing 737-800 aircraft in a configuration for 180 passengers in a single class. The airline will receive three aircraft by 09/30, while the remaining seven will be received by 10/30.

The reestablishment of the operations of Mexicana de Aviación continues to be defined approximately by December 2023 with its operations center at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). The new Mexicana will guarantee a quality service at an affordable cost, ensuring that the price of tickets will be between 18 and 20 percent less than commercial airlines. The start of ticket sales will start from September 2023.

Mexicana de Aviación has reported the next twenty routes that will begin to connect to domestic routes in Mexico: Acapulco, Campeche, Cancun, Chetumal, Ciudad Juárez, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Hermosillo, Huatulco, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, La Paz, León, Los Cabos, Mazatlán, Mérida, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, Tijuana, and Villahermosa.

From the Government, they maintain that Mexicana de Aviación will begin to have profitability in 2025, after the initial investment of MX$ 4,000 million Pesos, which includes rent, maintenance, and fuel, among other items.

The flagship airline of Mexico which began operations on July 12, 1921, is considered one of the oldest in the world, along with KLM Airlines and Avianca Airlines. Now, after the bankruptcy, Mexicana de Aviación will return to the skies of Mexico and the world seeking to restore that glory that it knew how to have in its past.
