Boeing China nombra nuevo presidente de origen chino

The Boeing Company ha nombrado a Alvin Liu, natural de la República Popular de China, como Jefe de la unidad de Boeing China mientras lucha contra una sequía en las importaciones estadounidenses al crucial mercado de la aviación de oriente. Alvin Liu es nativo de la Provincia de Liaoning, en la parte noreste de China. Se unió a la compañía estadounidense en 2022 procedente de la industria automotriz.

La medida asume importancia teniendo en cuenta que China representa aproximadamente una cuarta parte de las importaciones mundiales de aviones, un mercado muy importante para los constructores de aviones.

Los recientes tratos entre Boeing y China han sido difíciles debido a las tensiones geopolíticas y comerciales entre Washington y Pekín. China fue el primer país en prohibir el 737 MAX después de dos accidentes aéreos que han incursionado en tierra a toda la flota de aeronaves por problemas de diseño, mientras que paralelamente continúa retardando en reiniciar las importaciones de aviones para las aerolíneas locales chinas.

Boeing China names new president of Chinese origin

The Boeing Company has appointed Alvin Liu, a native of the People’s Republic of China, as Boeing China unit head as he battles a drought in US imports to the crucial eastern aviation market. Alvin Liu is a native of Liaoning Province, in the northeast part of China. He joined the American company in 2022 from the automotive industry.

The measure assumes importance considering that China accounts for about a quarter of world aircraft imports, a very important market for aircraft manufacturers.

Recent dealings between Boeing and China have been difficult due to geopolitical and trade tensions between Washington and Beijing. China was the first country to ban the 737 MAX after two plane crashes grounded the entire aircraft fleet due to design issues while continuing to delay restarting plane imports for local Chinese airlines.

Boeing estimated that China will require 8,500 new aircraft and US$550.20 million in commercial services in the coming years. Both Boeing and Airbus now have Chinese-born senior executives for the region.

A220 para reemplazar flota Fokker

La aerolínea nacional de Papúa Nueva Guinea, Air Niugini, ha estado evaluando los aviones Embraer E2 como así también los Airbus A220, para evaluar las capacidades regionales de la aerolínea. La compañía anunció planes para solicitar once aviones A220 a partir de 2025 como parte de la decisión de un acuerdo para adquirir el producto europeo.

Air Niugini, la aerolínea nacional de Papúa Nueva Guinea, anunció este Martes 15/08 que había seleccionado el Airbus A220 para renovar su flota, formada principalmente por los Fokker F70 y F100, algunos con más de treinta años en servicio. La aerolínea reveló planes para tener once aviones Airbus, incluidos los modelos A220-100 y A220-300, que se unirán a dos Boeing 787 Dreamliner de fuselaje ancho, que se utilizarán en rutas de larga distancia.

“El Airbus A220 puede operar rutas nacionales e internacionales con más capacidad. Quema un 27 por ciento menos de combustible que la flota actual para los mismos sectores y tiene una mayor comodidad y eficiencia operativa”, dijo el Ministro de Empresas Estatales, William Duma. La decisión fue aprobada por el Consejo Ejecutivo Nacional, abriendo espacio para que Air Niugini continúe con el proceso de negociación con el constructor de aeronaves europeo Airbus Group.

A220 to replace Fokker fleet

Papua New Guinea’s national airline, Air Niugini, has been evaluating Embraer E2 aircraft as well as Airbus A220 aircraft, to assess the airline’s regional capabilities. The company announced plans to order eleven A220 aircraft from 2025 as part of a deal decision to purchase the European product.

Air Niugini, the national airline of Papua New Guinea, announced this Tuesday 08/15 that it had selected the Airbus A220 to renew its fleet, made up mainly of the Fokker F70 and F100, some with more than thirty years in service. The airline revealed plans to have eleven Airbus aircraft, including the A220-100 and A220-300 models, joining two wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which will be used on long-haul routes.

“The Airbus A220 can operate domestic and international routes with more capacity. It burns 27 percent less fuel than the current fleet for the same sectors and has greater comfort and operational efficiency”, said State Enterprises Minister William Duma. The decision was approved by the National Executive Council, opening space for Air Niugini to continue the negotiation process with the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus Group.

Embraer reporta fuerte crecimiento ingresos y entregas 2Q2023

La compañía brasileña Embraer S.A. ha informado los resultados económicos del 2Q2023 permitiendo una mejora significativa de los negocios en los sectores de aviación comercial y ejecutiva que han permitido alcanzar un buen desempeño.

Embraer reportó mejores resultados en el segundo trimestre que incluyeron aumentos significativos en los ingresos y las entregas de aviones comerciales y de negocios. La compañía, con sede en São Paulo, Brasil, registró una pérdida neta de US$ 18.8 millones Dólares. Los ingresos para el segundo trimestre aumentaron un 27 por ciento de US$ 1.02 millones a US$ 1.29 millones de Dólares.

Air Transat volará a Perú

Compañía canadiense nuevo operador hacia Perú

Air Transat ha anunciado que a partir de Diciembre 2023 desembarcará en Perú iniciando vuelos Toronto—Lima y Montreal—Lima.. El aterrizaje en el Perú marca una nueva etapa de expansión de la línea aérea al abrir su segundo país destino en Sudamérica, después de Colombia.

La aerolínea está enfocada en vuelos vacacionales a destinos turísticos, ampliando el mercado hacia Sudamérica permitiendo atender la demada de rutas turísticas. Además, busca dar una mejor utilización a la flota durante los cambios de temporada en ambos hemisferios.

Las nuevas rutas permitirán aumentar la presencia de Air Transat en América del Sur con vuelos estacionales. A partir del 20 de Diciembre de 2023 y hasta el 24 de Abril de 2024, operará la ruta Toronto/YYZ—Lima/LIM con dos frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S) los Miércoles y Sábados. La ruta Montreal/YUL—Lima/LIM está programado entre el 22 de Diciembre de 2023 al 26 de Abril de 2024 con una frecuencia semanal (1Frq/S).

Para las rutas asignadas, la compañía canadiense operará la flota de aeronaves Airbus A321LR en configuración para 199 pasajeros distribuidos en dos clases: Club Class (Business Class) y Economy Class. Durante la primera temporada de operación en el Perú, Air Transat ofrecerá una capacidad semanal de 796 asientos en el tramo Toronto–Lima y de 398 asientos en la ruta Montreal–Lima.

Los nuevos servicios introductorios hacia Perú permitirán estimular la competencia con Air Canada, que mantenía exclusividad operativa en Perú, a la vez que permitirá emplear la flora de aviones de manera más eficiente enlas diferentes temporadas vacacionales en el hemisferio Norte y Sur de América. Los beneficios para el pasajero permitirán ampliar la oferta disponible más allá de Estados Unidos, permitiendo ofrecer vuelos en el segmento turístico vacacional.

Gremio Local 555 anuncia acuerdo tentativo personal

Southwest Airlines y el Sindicato de Trabajadores del Transporte Local 555 (TWU 555) anunciaron el Martes 15/08 que llegaron a un acuerdo tentativo para los agentes de rampa, operaciones, provisiones y carga de la aerolínea. “Nuestros trabajadores agentes de rampa, operaciones, aprovisionamiento y carga desempeñan un papel valioso para ayudar a Southwest Airlines al brindar una gran experiencia a nuestros clientes. Estoy satisfecho con el trabajo de ambas partes para llegar a un Acuerdo Tentativo que ofrecería a los empleados aumentos de compensación bien merecidos y le daría a Southwest las eficiencias necesarias para mantenernos competitivos”, dijo Adam Carlisle, Vicepresidente de Relaciones Laborales de Southwest Airlines.

Southwest Airlines and Transportation Workers Union Local 555 (TWU 555) announced Tuesday 08/15 that they have reached a tentative agreement for the airline’s ramp, operations, supplies, and cargo agents.

“Our hard-working ramp, operations, provisioning, and cargo agents play a valuable role in helping Southwest Airlines provide a great experience for our customers. I am pleased with the work by both parties to reach a Tentative Agreement that would offer employees raises well-deserved compensation and would give Southwest the efficiencies needed to stay competitive”, said Adam Carlisle, Southwest Airlines Vice-president of Labor Relations. This Tentative Agreement covers Southwest’s 17,120 ramp, operations, procurement, and freight agents.
