Compañía canadiense nuevo operador hacia Perú
Air Transat ha anunciado que a partir de Diciembre 2023 desembarcará en Perú iniciando vuelos Toronto—Lima y Montreal—Lima.. El aterrizaje en el Perú marca una nueva etapa de expansión de la línea aérea al abrir su segundo país destino en Sudamérica, después de Colombia.
La aerolínea está enfocada en vuelos vacacionales a destinos turísticos, ampliando el mercado hacia Sudamérica permitiendo atender la demada de rutas turísticas. Además, busca dar una mejor utilización a la flota durante los cambios de temporada en ambos hemisferios.
Las nuevas rutas permitirán aumentar la presencia de Air Transat en América del Sur con vuelos estacionales. A partir del 20 de Diciembre de 2023 y hasta el 24 de Abril de 2024, operará la ruta Toronto/YYZ—Lima/LIM con dos frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S) los Miércoles y Sábados. La ruta Montreal/YUL—Lima/LIM está programado entre el 22 de Diciembre de 2023 al 26 de Abril de 2024 con una frecuencia semanal (1Frq/S).
Para las rutas asignadas, la compañía canadiense operará la flota de aeronaves Airbus A321LR en configuración para 199 pasajeros distribuidos en dos clases: Club Class (Business Class) y Economy Class. Durante la primera temporada de operación en el Perú, Air Transat ofrecerá una capacidad semanal de 796 asientos en el tramo Toronto–Lima y de 398 asientos en la ruta Montreal–Lima.
Los nuevos servicios introductorios hacia Perú permitirán estimular la competencia con Air Canada, que mantenía exclusividad operativa en Perú, a la vez que permitirá emplear la flora de aviones de manera más eficiente enlas diferentes temporadas vacacionales en el hemisferio Norte y Sur de América. Los beneficios para el pasajero permitirán ampliar la oferta disponible más allá de Estados Unidos, permitiendo ofrecer vuelos en el segmento turístico vacacional.
La Cancillería del Perú celebra el arribo de la aerolínea canadiense Air Transat como el resultado de un trabajo conjunto gestionado a través de la Embajada de Canadá: “La Cancillería, a través de nuestra Embajada en Canadá, brindó el soporte necesario con el propósito de garantizar el éxito de este nuevo servicio, el cual permitirá el desarrollo del turismo y facilitará el comercio, en beneficio de la reactivación económica del Perú”, señalan en su cuenta de X (Twitter).
La compañía aérea Air Transat tiene una fuerte presencia en el México, Centroamérica y el Caribe, atendiendo mercados desde los aeropuertos de Canadá como Toronto, Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Halifax, Hamilton, Londres (Ontario) y Moncton.

Canadian company new operator to Peru
Air Transat has announced that as of December 2023 it will disembark in Peru, starting flights Toronto—Lima and Montreal—Lima. The landing in Peru marks a new stage of expansion for the airline by opening its second destination country in South America, after Colombia.
The airline is focused on vacation flights to tourist destinations, expanding the market to South America, allowing it to meet the demand for tourist routes. In addition, it seeks to make better use of the fleet during seasonal changes in both hemispheres.
The new routes will increase Air Transat’s presence in South America with seasonal flights. As of December 20, 2023 and until April 24, 2024, the Toronto/YYZ—Lima/LIM route will operate with two weekly frequencies (2Frq/S) on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Montreal/YUL—Lima/LIM route is scheduled between December 22, 2023 to April 26, 2024 with a weekly frequency (1Frq/S).
For the assigned routes, the Canadian company will operate the fleet of Airbus A321LR aircraft in a configuration for 199 passengers divided into two classes: Club Class (Business Class) and Economy Class. During the first season of operation in Peru, Air Transat will offer a weekly capacity of 796 seats on the Toronto-Lima section and 398 seats on the Montreal-Lima route.
The new introductory services to Peru will stimulate competition with Air Canada, which maintained operational exclusivity in Peru, while allowing more efficient use of the aircraft flora in the different holiday seasons in the North and South America. The benefits for the passenger will make it possible to expand the offer available beyond the United States, making it possible to offer flights in the vacation tourism segment.
The Peruvian Foreign Ministry celebrates the arrival of the Canadian airline Air Transat as the result of joint work managed through the Canadian Embassy: “The Foreign Ministry, through our Embassy in Canada, provided the necessary support in order to guarantee the success of this new service, which will allow the development of tourism and facilitate trade, for the benefit of the economic reactivation of Peru”, they point out in their X (Twitter) account.
The airline Air Transat has a strong presence in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, serving markets from Canadian airports such as Toronto, Quebec, Montreal, Ottawa, Halifax, Hamilton, London (Ontario) and Moncton.
