La República Popular de China ha anunciado que pone fin a una de las pocas restricciones que continuaban por la crisis de la pandemia del COVID-19, terminando con las restricciones impuestas como medidas sanitarias después de años de requisitos para los usuarios del transporte aéreo. En Enero 2023 el Gobierno levantó los requisitos de cuarentena, y después fue ampliando el número de países a los que consideraba seguro viajar. mientras que las dificultades sanitarias se focalizaban en su propio país.

Esta medida llega tras haber conseguido una fuerte contención de los casos. Desde el estallido de la epidemia, China mantuvo una política de “Covid cero”, imponiendo durísimas restricciones de entrada y salida. De esta manera, China reabre sus fronteras tras casi tres años de aislamiento.
