ITA Airways recibe primer Airbus A220 cielo azul

ITA Airways recibió su primer Airbus A220-300 con el fuselaje pintado totalmente en azul brilloso. El avión, registrado como EI-HHM, aterrizó en el Aeropuerto Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino (FCO) de Roma después de reabastecerse de combustible en el Aeropuerto de Londres Stansted (STN) en su camino desde la Línea de Ensamblaje Final (FAL) de Mirabel, Canadá, en el Aeropuerto Internacional Mirabel de Montreal (YMX) el 26 de Agosto de 2023.

Esto marca la entrega del primer Airbus A220 totalmente azul a ITA Airways. Los otros cuatro aviones de la aerolínea del tipo tienen un fuselaje completamente blanco con las palabras “Born To Be Sustainable” escritas en el costado. La librea totalmente blanca es un respaldo al compromiso de ITA Airways de operar una flota de 80% de aviones de nueva generación para 2026, parte del plan de renovación de la flota de la aerolínea. “La gran escritura Born To Be Sustainable en el fuselaje ilustra este compromiso fundacional, que ITA Airways persigue en línea con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de las Naciones Unidas, combinando la sostenibilidad ambiental y social con el crecimiento comercial y la solidez financiera”, describió ITA Airways en una página especial dedicada al plan de renovación de la flota.

Los cinco aviones Airbus A220-300 de ITA Airways están arrendados a Air Lease Corporation (ALC), y la aerolínea está programada para recibir once aviones adicionales del tipo. Las presentaciones de Airbus Orders & Deliveries para Julio de 2023 también muestran que la aerolínea italiana tiene siete A220-100 seleccionados, que se compraron en Diciembre de 2021. También finalizó los pedidos por once (11) aviones A320neo y diez (10) A330neo en un Memorando de Entendimiento (MoU) firmado en Septiembre de 2021.

ITA Airways y ALC acordaron el arrendamiento de 31 nuevos aviones programados para ser entregados a la aerolínea desde el segundo semestre de 2022 hasta Septiembre de 2025. Los 31 aviones consistían en quince Airbus A220, dos A220neo, nueve A320neo/A321neo y cinco A330neo, que serían operados por la aerolínea en arrendamiento a largo plazo de la cartera de pedidos de ALC con Airbus Group.

ITA Airways receives first Airbus A220 sky blue

ITA Airways took delivery of its first Airbus A220-300 with the fuselage painted entirely in brilliant blue. The aircraft, registered as EI-HHM, landed at Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci/Fiumicino Airport (FCO) after refueling at London Stansted Airport (STN) on its way from the Final Assembly Line (FAL) of Mirabel, Canada, at Montreal Mirabel International Airport (YMX) on August 26, 2023.

This marks the delivery of the first all-blue Airbus A220 to ITA Airways. The other four airline planes of the type have an all-white fuselage with the words “Born To Be Sustainable” written on the side. The all-white livery is an endorsement of ITA Airways’ commitment to operate a fleet of 80% new-generation aircraft by 2026, part of the airline’s fleet renewal plan. “The large Born To Be Sustainable writing on the fuselage illustrates this founding commitment, which ITA Airways pursues in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), combining environmental and social sustainability with business growth and financial strength”, described ITA Airways on a special page dedicated to the fleet renewal plan.

ITA Airways’ five Airbus A220-300 aircraft are on lease to Air Lease Corporation (ALC), and the airline is scheduled to take delivery of an additional eleven aircraft of the type. Airbus Orders & Deliveries filings for July 2023 also show that the Italian airline has seven A220-100s selected, which were purchased in December 2021. It also finalized orders for eleven (11) A320neo and ten (10) A330neo aircraft in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in September 2021.

ITA Airways and ALC agreed to lease 31 new aircraft scheduled to be delivered to the airline from the second half of 2022 to September 2025. The 31 aircraft consisted of fifteen Airbus A220s, two A220neo, nine A320neo/A321neo, and five A330neo, which would be operated by the airline on a long-term lease of the ALC order book with Airbus Group.
