Aerolíneas se pronuncian contra nuevo decreto para reducir vuelos
La Cámara Nacional de Aerotransportes (CANAERO) se pronunció en contra de una potencial nueva reducción de operaciones en el Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México (AICM), que actualmente se evalúa para los vuelos de llegada, y que para la industria afectaría gravemente la planeación de operaciones, e incluso implicaría una cancelación masiva de vuelos. La agencia CANAERO advirtió que una nueva reducción de operaciones traería una cancelación masiva de vuelos, e incluso incidiría en la recuperación de la Categoría 1 que México reclama para alcanzar los máximos estándares en la aviación comercial. Las nuevas medidas que el Aeropuerto Internacional de Ciudad de México/AICM contempla incluyen la prohibición del aterrizaje de vuelos que lleguen fuera de los horarios autorizados.
En un comunicado, el organismo advirtió que el ajuste pondría en una situación desfavorable al país a nivel internacional, e hizo referencia a la recuperación de la Categoría 1 de la seguridad aérea, un proceso que las autoridades aeronáuticas han llevado por más de dos años y que actualmente limita la capacidad de las empresas mexicanas hacia Estados Unidos. “El problema de fondo en el AICM no es la capacidad de operaciones por hora, sino la antigüedad de la infraestructura y el deterioro en el que se encuentra, que requiere una intervención mayor que resulta apremiante al ser una instalación estratégica para la seguridad nacional, los ingresos del gobierno, la derrama económica y empleos”, dijo la CANAERO.
Reducción de vuelos
El Aeropuerto Ciudad de México evalúa una segunda reducción de operaciones, argumentando que las aerolíneas utilizan horarios de aterrizaje y despegue (slots) no autorizados. En Septiembre de 2022 el aeropuerto y las aerolíneas acordaron una reducción en el tope de operaciones por hora de 61 a 52 vuelos, lo que llevó a las líneas aéreas como Aeroméxico a dejar de operar cientos de franjas horarias. Sin embargo, en fechas recientes el aeropuerto ha advertido que las aerolíneas han operado miles de vuelos fuera de los slots autorizados, principalmente compañías como Volaris Airlines y Viva Aerobus. Por ello, el aeropuerto advirtió que no autorizaría el despegue de vuelos en horarios no autorizados a partir de Mayo 2023, lo cual se respetó para los vuelos de salida, pero no para los de llegada. La medida que el AICM evalúa actualmente es prohibir el aterrizaje de operaciones en horarios no autorizados, con lo cual un vuelo que busque aterrizar fuera de horario por razones imputables a la aerolínea podría ser desviado a otros aeropuertos, dijo en una entrevista con Expansión Carlos Velázquez Tiscareño, director del AICM.
Las aerolíneas pidieron que el ajuste no sea unilateral para elaborar un plan respecto a los horarios. “Solicitamos respetuosamente a las autoridad que incluyan en las mesas de trabajo a los expertos del sector para construir una estrategia que permita solucionar las necesidades de la demanda presente y futura, en beneficio del desarrollo económico y social del país”, dijo la agencia Canaero.

Reduction of flights
The Mexico City Airport is evaluating a second reduction in operations, arguing that the airlines use unauthorized landing and takeoff times (slots). In September 2022, the airport and the airlines agreed to a reduction in the maximum number of operations per hour from 61 to 52 flights, which led airlines such as Aeroméxico to stop operating hundreds of time slots. However, the airport has recently warned that airlines have operated thousands of flights outside of authorized slots, mainly companies such as Volaris Airlines and Viva Aerobus. For this reason, the airport warned that it would not authorize the takeoff of flights at unauthorized times as of May 2023, which was respected for departure flights, but not for arrivals. The measure that the AICM is currently evaluating is to prohibit the landing of operations at unauthorized times, with which a flight that seeks to land out of schedule for reasons attributable to the airline could be diverted to other airports, Carlos Velázquez said in an interview with Expansión Tiscareño, director of the AICM.
The airlines asked that the adjustment not be unilateral to develop a plan regarding schedules. “We respectfully request the authorities to include experts from the sector in the work tables to build a strategy that allows solving the needs of present and future demand, for the benefit of the economic and social development of the country”, said the agency Canaero.
