Las Vegas registra mayor tráfico pasajeros historia
El Aeropuerto de Las Vegas (LAS) registró el tercer mayor total mensual de pasajeros de su historia. El Aeropuerto Internacional Harry Reid tuvo en Julio 2023 el tercer mayor número de pasajeros mensuales registrado de su historia, reportó el Lunes el Departamento de Aviación del Condado Clark.
El número de pasajeros transportados ha representado 4.946 millones de personas llegaron y salieron del aeropuerto, un aumento del 1.7 por ciento respecto a Julio de 2022. Fue el tercer mayor número de pasajeros mensuales por detrás de los 5.186 millones de Octubre de 2022 y los 4.953 millones de Mayo de 2023. Las cifras de Julio 2023 elevan el total del año hasta la fecha a 33.096 millones de pasajeros, un 13,5 por ciento más que en los siete primeros meses de 2022.
El fuerte aumento del tráfico de pasajeros registrado en Julio 2023, posiciona a la aeroestación del sur del Estado de Nevada en camino a superar el récord de 52,7 millones de usuarios alcanzados en el año 2022.
Proyecto nuevo aeropuerto
Las proyecciones de incremento constante del número de pasajeros en el Aeropuerto Las Vegas ha marcado la agenda para estudiar los planes para construir un nuevo aeropuerto en el valle de Ivanpah, al sur de Las Vegas entre Jean y Primm. La Directora del Departamento de Aviación del Condado Clark, Rosemary Vassiliadis, ha expresado en Febrero 2023 que el crecimiento de Harry Reid va camino de alcanzar su capacidad de entre 63 y 65 millones de pasajeros anuales hacia 2030. Un futuro aeropuerto ajustado a las nuevas necesidades estaría próximo operativo por allá en el 2037.
El tráfico de pasajeros nacionales ha continuado incrementándose con 4.6 millones en Julio 2023, un 1.1 por ciento más interanual. El tránsito internacional continuó escalando en Julio 2023, con 290.546 pasajeros, representando un 13.5 por ciento adicional. El total acumulado en siete meses asciende a 1.8 millones de pasajeros, un 41.4 por ciento más que el año pasado 2022.
Incremento oferta aerolíneas
El aumento del tráfico de pasajeros continúa fortaleciendo la oferta de las líneas aéreas con el número de asientos que llegan al Aeropuerto Las Vegas. Southwest Airlines, líder del mercado, tiene más asientos que nunca en Harry Reid con un factor de ocupación elevado, con 1.9 millones de pasajeros transportados en Julio 2023, un 10.3 por ciento más que el año pasado. Delta Air Lines también registró un aumento del 7.4 por ciento, hasta 436.910 pasajeros. El resto de las cinco principales aerolíneas nacionales con destino a Las Vegas registraron descensos en el mes de Julio 2023: Spirit Airlines bajó un 6%, hasta 642.512, American Airlines un 7,9%, hasta 360.157, y Frontier Airlines un 18,9%, hasta 359.196 pasajeros transportados. El el plano de vuelos internacionales, la aerolínea canadiense de bajo coste WestJet encabezó la lista de compañías extranjeras con 76.365 pasajeros, un 44.5 por ciento más que el año pasado, seguida de Air Canada, con 46.516 pasajeros, un 8.5 por ciento más, y Volaris Airlines con 26.816, un 21.5 por ciento adicional.

Las Vegas records highest passenger traffic history
Las Vegas Airport (LAS) recorded the third-highest monthly passenger total in its history. The Harry Reid International Airport had in July 2023 the third highest number of monthly passengers recorded in its history, the Clark County Aviation Department reported Monday.
The number of passengers transported has represented 4,946 million people arriving and leaving the airport, an increase of 1.7 percent compared to July 2022. It was the third highest number of monthly passengers behind the 5,186 million of October 2022 and the 4,953 million in May 2023. The figures for July 2023 bring the year-to-date total to 33,096 million passengers, 13.5 percent more than in the first seven months of 2022.
The strong increase in passenger traffic registered in July 2023, positions the airstation in the south of the State of Nevada on the way to exceed the record of 52.7 million users reached in 2022.
New airport project
Projections of steadily increasing passenger numbers at Las Vegas Airport have set the agenda for studying plans to build a new airport in the Ivanpah Valley, south of Las Vegas between Jean and Primm. The Director of the Clark County Aviation Department, Rosemary Vassiliadis, expressed in February 2023 that the growth of Harry Reid is on track to reach its capacity of between 63 and 65 million passengers per year by 2030. A future airport adjusted to the new needs It would be next operational there in 2037.

Increase offer airlines

Delta Air Lines also posted a 7.4 percent increase to 436,910 passengers. The rest of the top five domestic carriers to Las Vegas posted declines in July 2023: Spirit Airlines was down 6% to 642,512, American Airlines 7.9% to 360,157, and Frontier Airlines 18.9%, up to 359,196 passengers transported. On the plane of international flights, the Canadian low-cost airline WestJet led the list of foreign companies with 76,365 passengers, 44.5 percent more than last year, followed by Air Canada, with 46,516 passengers, 8.5 percent more, and Volaris Airlines with 26,816, an additional 21.5 percent.
