Demoras por dificultades financieras
El relanzamiento de Monarch Airlines ha tenido un nuevo capítudo en un estancamiento para el reinicio de sus operaciones en el Reino Unido. El sueño de relanzar una aerolínea emblemática británica ha quedado estancada después de unas pocas semanas donde la Junta Directiva de la compañía anuncia que ha detenido el proyecto.
Los directivos de Monarch Airlines han estado renovando la identidad visual y estructuración financiera de la relanzada aerolínea, mientras buscaba reflotar las esperanzas por retomar los cielos. En un comunicado publicado en su sitio web, la Junta Directiva de la compañía ha expresado:
“Es con inmenso pesar que anunciamos hoy que nos hemos visto obligados a frenar nuestro proceso para relanzar Monarch. Esta no es una decisión que hayamos tomado a la ligera, sin embargo, desde que nos hicimos cargo del negocio hace dos semanas, nos hemos acercado a agotar la financiación inicial que se nos proporcionó mucho más rápidamente de lo previsto.
Hemos estado buscando rutas alternativas, como la desinversión parcial del capital social, y continuaremos haciéndolo, sin embargo, en la etapa actual no hay una opción práctica para avanzar en el futuro inmediato”.
Los costos en la puesta en marcha incluirían la adquisición de un Certificado de Operador Aéreo (AOC), un acuerdo de arrendamiento para entre quince a veinte aviones Airbus A320 como parte de la nueva flota.
En esta etapa será necesario realizar actualizaciones adicionales sobre el estado de la aerolínea, especialmente ante una nueva inyección de fondos adicionales de capital para continuar el proceso de puesta en marcha, aunque no se ha especificado las capacidades para alcanzar una nueva recapitalización. Mirando hacia el futuro, todos los ojos están puestos en el transportista para ver si pueden obtener más fondos sobre la línea, y si realmente pueden llevar el nuevo Monarch a los cielos para el próximo año.

The relaunch of Monarch Airlines has had a new chapter in a stalemate for the restart of its operations in the United Kingdom. The dream of relaunching a British flagship airline was stalled after a few weeks when the company’s Board of Directors announced that it had halted the project.
Monarch Airlines executives have been revamping the relaunched airline’s visual identity and financial structuring as it sought to revive hopes of resuming the skies. The group was looking for the relaunch the iconic British airline, but the managers have abruptly stopped after canceling the start-up of the airline, also canceling social networks. In a statement published on its website, the company’s Board of Directors has expressed:
“It is with immense regret that we announce today that we have been forced to halt our process to relaunch Monarch. This is not a decision we have made lightly, however, since taking over the business two weeks ago, we have become closer to exhausting the initial funding that was provided to us much faster than anticipated.
We have been looking at alternative routes, such as partial equity divestment, and will continue to do so, however, at the current stage there is no practical option to move forward in the immediate future”.
Start-up costs would include the acquisition of an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and a lease agreement for fifteen to twenty Airbus A320 aircraft as part of the new fleet.
At this stage, it will be necessary to carry out additional updates on the status of the airline, especially before a new injection of additional capital funds to continue the start-up process, although the capacities to achieve a new recapitalization have not been specified. Looking ahead, all eyes are on the carrier to see if they can get more funding over the line, and if they can really get the new Monarch into the skies for next year.
