Gobierno holandés sigue adelante límite vuelos de Schiphol
El Gobierno holandés seguirá adelante con sus planes para limitar el número de vuelos en el Aeropuerto Amsterdam/Schiphol de los Países Bajos el próximo año 2024 para reducir el índice sonoro, dijo el Viernes 01/09. Tras la decisión tomada, la aerolínea de bandera KLM Airlines y grupos de la industria aérea han manifestado su reclamo rechazando la postura.
La principal razón del Gobierno para el límite es abordar la contaminación acústica, pero también ha citado la necesidad de reducir las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, así como los problemas logísticos recurrentes en el aeropuerto. Los grupos ecologistas y la propia Schiphol apoyan los recortes. “La aviación puede traer a los Países Bajos mucho que es bueno, siempre y cuando prestemos atención a los efectos negativos para las personas que viven cerca del aeropuerto”, dijo el ministro de Transporte, Mark Harbers, en un comunicado anunciando el límite, que entrará en vigencia en 2024 a la espera de la aprobación de la Comisión Europea. Los vuelos tendrán un límite de 452.500 por año, dijo Mark Harbers, 9.5% por debajo de los niveles de 2019 y más bajo que una propuesta anterior de 460.000.
Las aerolíneas que se oponen a la prohibición están apelando ante la Corte Suprema holandesa después de perder una apelación en Julio 2023.
Las aerolíneas que utilizan Amsterdam/Schiphol han demandado para tratar de evitar el límite en uno de los aeropuertos más concurridos de Europa. Dicen que perjudicará a los negocios y violará acuerdos anteriores. KLM calificó el Viernes 01/09 el límite de vuelos como incomprensible y dijo que implementarlo dañaría a los Países Bajos.
La decisión es “arbitraria, mal pensada y socava los procedimientos normalmente utilizados”, dijo Ourania Georgoutsakou, Directora Gerente del grupo industrial Airlines For Europe (A4E).
La Asociación Internacional de Transporte Aéreo (IATA), que apoya el caso de las aerolíneas, dijo el jueves al gobierno provisional holandés que no proceda antes de las elecciones nacionales de Noviembre 2023. “En unos meses, este gobierno no será responsable de las graves consecuencias que puedan derivarse de la decisión de Schiphol, particularmente con respecto a las relaciones con los socios comerciales de los Países Bajos, y la pérdida de empleos y prosperidad en el país”, dijo IATA en un comunicado.
En una conferencia de prensa, el Primer Ministro saliente, Mark Rutte, confirmó que el Departamento de Transporte de Estados Unidos había enviado al Gobierno holandés una carta expresando sus preocupaciones sobre el límite, que dijo que se abordaría.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA), which supports the airlines’ case, told the Dutch interim government on Thursday not to proceed before the November 2023 national elections. “In a few months, this government will not be responsible for the serious consequences that may result from Schiphol’s decision, particularly with regard to relations with trading partners of the Netherlands, and the loss of jobs and prosperity in the country”, IATA said in a statement.
At a press conference, outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte confirmed that the US Department of Transportation had sent the Dutch government a letter expressing its concerns about the cap, which he said would be addressed.
