BermudAir inició oficialmente sus operaciones el 1 de Septiembre de 2023 con un Embraer E175-E1 con registro VQ-BLU. El vuelo inaugural 2T301 despegó de su centro de operaciones en el Aeropuerto Internacional LF Wade (BDA) a las 08:12 y aterrizó al Aeropuerto Internacional Boston/Logan (BOS) a las 09:14 horas. El retorno a las Islas Bermudas concluyó a las 13:00 horas. La aeronave regional partió para su segundo viaje del día a White Plains Westchester County (HPN) como vuelo 2T223. La inauguración se produce casi un mes después de la aprobación de la aerolínea y la certificación de aeronaves de la Autoridad de Aviación Civil de Bermudas.
El Director Ejecutivo de BermudAir, Adam Scott, expresó: “El primer vuelo fue brillante, y tuvimos una primera experiencia increíble. Todos lo pasaron de maravilla, y todo salió sin problemas, así que estábamos muy contentos con el resultado”.
La aerolínea ha firmado un contrato de arrendamiento para dos (2) E175 de Azorra Aviation con registros VQ-BLW y VQ-BLU. A partir de Noviembre 2023, la aerolínea implementará su nuevo producto de clase ejecutiva, Aisle Class, que cuenta con solo 30 asientos. Cada asiento vendrá con un espacio de mesa individual, contenedores de almacenamiento de asientos para bolsas y una partición de privacidad con solo dos asientos en cada fila. El asiento está diseñado para crear una sensación de espacio y exclusividad para los pasajeros y fue diseñado por la agencia londinense Factory Design, que se especializa en crear interiores de cabina de alta gama. Este nuevo producto elimina el dilema de la ventana de muchos pasajeros frente al asiento del pasillo.
BermudAir aumentará el servicio entre White Plains y Bermuda a 12 veces por semana (12Frq/S) a partir del 15/09. Además de Boston y White Plains, la startup agregará vuelos a Fort Lauderdale (Florida) el 22 de Septiembre de 2023. Inicialmente, la aerolínea servirá a todos estos destinos seis veces por semana (6Frq/S).

The seat is designed to create a feeling of space and exclusivity for passengers and was designed by a London-based Factory Design agency, which specializes in creating high-end cabin interiors. This new product eliminates many passengers’ window vs. aisle seat dilemma.
BermudAir will increase service between White Plains and Bermuda to 12 times per week (12Frq/S) effective 09/15. In addition to Boston and White Plains, the startup will add flights to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on September 22, 2023. Initially, the airline will serve all of these destinations six times a week (6Frq/S).

FAA propone Directiva de Aeronavegabilidad motor GE90
La Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) de Estados Unidos ha comunicado que el motor General Electric GE90 puede estar conectado a tierra en los Estados Unidos debido a un defecto de inclusión de hierro que podría causar la liberación de residuos no contenidos y daños al motor. La compañía fabricante General Electric Company (GE) ha informado a las aerolíneas afectadas sobre el defecto, permitiendo que la regla de la FAA requeriría que las aerolíneas reemplacen las piezas defectuosas. Defectos similares de metal en polvo han afectado a otros programas de motores, incluidos los motores CFM International LEAP y Pratt & Whitney PW1100G.

The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has communicated that the General Electric GE90 engine may be grounded in the United States due to an iron inclusion defect that could cause the release of uncontained debris and engine damage. Manufacturer General Electric Company (GE) has informed affected airlines of the defect, allowing the FAA rule to require airlines to replace defective parts. Similar powdered metal defects have affected other engine programs, including the CFM International LEAP and Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engines.
General Electric has investigated defective iron inclusion material found within High-Pressure Turbine Stage 1 and 2 HTP Discs, Rotor Seals, and Compressor Spools that can cause premature metal fatigue, leading to the release of uncontained debris, engine damage, and aircraft damage. The Airworthiness Directive (AD) proposal published on Friday 01/09 describes a powdered metal defect affecting components of the GE90-90B, GE90-94B, GE90-100B1, and GE90-115B series engines.
GE has informed the airlines affected by the defect in the turbines to offer possible corrective actions. Meanwhile, the FAA rule would require all airlines operating the plane to replace faulty parts before continuing flight. “The FAA considers that this proposed AD would be an interim action. This unsafe condition is still being investigated by the manufacturer and, depending on the results of that investigation, the FAA may consider new regulatory measures”, the US aviation agency said.
Repairs to the new FAA requirements would cost around US$ 5 million. The FAA does not consider the proposed announcement to have a significant effect on US airlines where the Airworthiness Directive would affect a total of nine engines on US registration, although none would need to replace the Interstage High-Pressure Seal. General Electric confirmed that the proposed AD is in line with its recommendations and reflects its commitments to safety, although it noted that the current issue is not currently a flight safety risk.

A new investigative report claims that the final resting place of the Malaysia Airlines MH370 flight could be around 1,000 miles off the coast of Australia. The plane disappeared from radar with 239 passengers and crew on board on March 8, 2014, some 38 minutes after taking off from Kuala Lumpur.
Efforts to locate the condemned aircraft have been unsuccessful, but a report published on Wednesday 08/30 has stated that investigators have used amateur radio technology known as Weak Signal Propagation Reporter (WSPR) to determine where the downed Boeing aircraft could be located. 777-200ER.
When an aircraft flies over a WSPR link, it disturbs the signal, and these disturbances can be seen in records kept in a global database. British aerospace researcher Richard Godfrey and other colleagues used 125 WSPR links to track the plane to a location about 970 miles west of Perth, off Australia’s west coast. Frontier Airlines presenta catorce rutas a Florida y Caribe
La aerolínea Frontier Airlines con sede en Denver (Colorado), Estados Unidos, ha anunciado el restablecimiento del as rutas hacia el Caribe tras los escollos de la crisis sanitaria mundial. Frontier Airlines introduces fourteen routes to Florida/Caribe
The airline Frontier Airlines based in Denver (Colorado), United States, has announced the restoration of routes to the Caribbean after the pitfalls of the global health crisis. Avianca Airlines ha acusado a LATAM Airlines Colombia por publicitar vuelos sin autorización respectiva en Colombia, elevando la disputa llegó a instancias legales, mientras que la aerolínea de capitales chileno sostiene que las acusaciones de la aerolínea colombiana tienen un propósito anticompetitivo.
Un nuevo capítulo se abre en el competitivo mercado colombiano en una puja de intereses entre Avianca y LATAM Airlines que volvieron a ser protagonistas en el mercado aéreo en Colombia. La aerolínea colombiana solicitó a la Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC) interponer medidas cautelares contra LATAM Airlines. Una fuente de la Superintendencia reveló que Avianca solicitó a la entidad interponer medidas cautelares contra la línea aérea chilena bajo el argumento de que LATAM Airlines ha publicitado y comercializado vuelos de manera sistemática, sin tener autorizados los slots (turnos de despegue y aterrizaje) por parte de la Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia (Aerocivil).
Avianca acusa a la filial colombiana LATAM Airlines de haber ofertado y vendido vuelos entre Marzo y Abril de 2023 en el Aeropuerto Internacional Bogotá/El Dorado (BOG), sin contar con los slots autorizados. Estos mismos hechos, según la aerolínea colombiana, se estarían repitiendo, pero para los trayectos de la temporada de invierno que inicia el próximo mes de Octubre de 2023.
Avianca de esa manera no solo solicitó a la SIC interponer medidas cautelares contra LATAM Airlines, también, que la aerolínea suspenda la oferta, venta y operación de los vuelos que corresponden a esos slots. Además, solicitó que LATAM Airlines contacte vía telefónica a todos los pasajeros que adquirieron vuelos en esos horarios, y les informe que el trayecto no operará, o en el mejor de los casos, esos turnos se ofertarán con cambio de horario.
Antes de decretar las medidas cautelares, la Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio decidió establecer una caución, con el fin de evitar daños contra LATAM Airlines. Tras conocer la reclamación de Avianca ante la SIC, LATAM se pronunció rechazando las acusaciones de la aerolínea colombiana y calificándolas de irresponsables y con un propósito anticompetitivo. “Es sorprendente que, vía el ejercicio de este tipo de acciones legales tendenciosas, Avianca pretenda continuar incrementando su ventaja competitiva al generar restricciones a otras aerolíneas, en detrimento del consumidor”, señaló el Director Ejecutivo de LATAM Airlines Colombia, Santiago Álvarez, a través de un comunicado
La compañía aérea LATAM Airlines Colombia así mismo enfatizó en el documento que cuenta con todos los slots (turnos de despegue y aterrizaje) autorizados por parte de la Aerocivil para operar vuelos desde y hacia el Aeropuerto Internacional El Dorado de Bogotá. LATAM Airlines subrayó así que “ha ofrecido y comercializado todos sus vuelos cumpliendo la ley y conforme a los principios y disposiciones de las normas aeronáuticas”.
Respecto a los señalamientos de Avianca frente a que LATAM Airlines vendió tiquetes entre Marzo y Abril de 2023 sin contar con los respectivos slots, la aerolínea chilena dijo: “es necesario precisar que los vuelos respondieron al llamado hecho por el mismo Gobierno nacional para que las aerolíneas del país ofrecieran más conectividad que ayudara a enfrentar la crisis intempestiva generada por la suspensión de operaciones de Viva Air y Ultra Air”. La misma Aerocivil ha sido la que “habilitó disponibilidad de slots para todas las aerolíneas buscando proteger a los pasajeros afectados”.
LATAM Airlines aseguró que al 1 de Septiembre de 2023, la SIC no les había notificado la interposición de ninguna medida cautelar en su contra. No obstante, la compañía aérea indicó que aportaron todas las pruebas pertinentes para demostrar que han cumplido con toda la regulación colombiana. “Nuestra inversión ha sido fundamental para darle estabilidad al sector aéreo y seguiremos compitiendo en Colombia con nuestra propuesta de valor fundamentada en el cuidado del pasajero, el fortalecimiento de nuestra red de destinos y un negocio basado en la sostenibilidad ambiental y social”, concluyó el director ejecutivo de LATAM Airlines Colombia.

Avianca accuses LATAM for misleading advertising
Avianca Airlines has accused LATAM Airlines Colombia of advertising flights without respective authorization in Colombia, raising the dispute to legal instances, while the Chilean capital airline maintains that the accusations of the Colombian airline have an anti-competitive purpose.
A new chapter opens in the competitive Colombian market in a bid for interests between Avianca and LATAM Airlines once again becoming protagonists in the air market in Colombia. The Colombian airline requested the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) to file precautionary measures against LATAM Airlines. A source from the Superintendency revealed that Avianca requested the entity to file precautionary measures against the Chilean airline on the grounds that LATAM Airlines has systematically advertised and marketed flights, without having authorized the slots (takeoff and landing shifts) by the Civil Aeronautics of Colombia (Aerocivil).
Avianca accuses the Colombian subsidiary LATAM Airlines of having offered and sold flights between March and April 2023 at the Bogotá/El Dorado International Airport (BOG), without having the authorized slots. These same events, according to the Colombian airline, would be repeating themselves, but for the routes of the winter season that begins next October 2023.
In this way, Avianca not only requested the SIC to file precautionary measures against LATAM Airlines but also that the airline suspend the offer, sale, and operation of the flights that correspond to those slots. In addition, it requested that LATAM Airlines contact all passengers who purchased flights at those times by telephone, and inform them that the route will not operate, or in the best of cases, those shifts will be offered with a time change.
Before decreeing the precautionary measures, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce decided to establish a bond, in order to avoid damages against LATAM Airlines. After learning of Avianca’s claim before the SIC, LATAM ruled rejecting the accusations of the Colombian airline and describing them as irresponsible and with an anti-competitive purpose. “It is surprising that, through the exercise of this type of tendentious legal actions, Avianca intends to continue increasing its competitive advantage by generating restrictions on other airlines, to the detriment of the consumer”, said the Executive Director of LATAM Airlines Colombia, Santiago Álvarez, through of a statement
The airline LATAM Airlines Colombia also emphasized in the document that it has all the slots (takeoff and landing slots) authorized by Aerocivil to operate flights to and from the El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá. LATAM Airlines thus stressed that “it has offered and marketed all its flights in compliance with the law and in accordance with the principles and provisions of aeronautical regulations”.
Regarding Avianca’s accusations that LATAM Airlines sold tickets between March and April 2023 without having the respective slots, the Chilean airline said: “It is necessary to specify that the flights responded to the call made by the national government itself so that the airlines in the country offered more connectivity to help face the untimely crisis generated by the suspension of operations of Viva Air and Ultra Air”. Aerocivil itself has been the one that “enabled availability of slots for all airlines seeking to protect affected passengers”.
LATAM Airlines assured that as of September 1, 2023, the SIC had not notified them of the filing of any precautionary measure against them. However, the airline indicated that they provided all relevant evidence to demonstrate that they have complied with all Colombian regulations. “Our investment has been essential to give stability to the air sector and we will continue to compete in Colombia with our value proposition based on passenger care, the strengthening of our network of destinations, and a business based on environmental and social sustainability”, concluded the Executive Director of LATAM Airlines Colombia.

Aerolíneas Argentinas ha informado el aumento de vuelos en sus rutas domésticas para el último cuatrimestre de 2023. El incremento de su oferta de asientos alcanza un 21% promedio con respecto al mismo período del 2019, antes de la pandemia, según informaron el Sábado 02/09 fuentes de la compañía.
La aerolínea ha continuado incrementando las frecuencias a destinos nacionales cono así también registrando un fuerte aumento del tráfico aéreo gracias a los incentivos al turismo generados por el PreViaje, promociones de pasajes, como así también generando nuevos destinos e inversiones en el área de la aviación comercial. “Tabajamos de forma permanente en poner más vuelos donde vemos posibilidades de expansión. El sector cerrará 2023 con niveles de crecimiento históricos en cantidad de pasajeros, oferta, destinos, frecuencias e inversiones”, señaló el CEO de Aerolíneas Argentinas, Pablo Ceriani.

Fabián Lombardo, Director Comercial de Aerolíneas Argentinas ha expresado en sintonía con la aproximación de la temporada estival: “Aerolíneas está poniendo una mayor oferta de asientos en destinos que incrementan su demanda en este periodo del año y que en combinación con herramientas como Previaje, se convierten en un producto muy atractivo para el turista. Hoy podemos decir que no tenemos una alta y baja temporada porque hay un flujo de pasajeros que crece de forma constante, mes a mes”.
Aerolíneas Argentinas ha transportado durante Julio 2023 un total de 1.012.774 pasajeros correspondiendo a un 12% más que en 2019. También, alcanzó un récord histórico de pasajeros transportados en un solo día con 46.822 usuarios. Actualmente, Aerolíneas Argentinas lleva transportados acumulados hasta Agosto 2023 unos 9 millones de pasajeros, con una proyección de alcanzar alrededor de 13 millones de pasajeros transportados.

Aerolíneas Argentinas has reported an increase in flights on its domestic routes for the last four-month period of 2023. The increase in its seat offer reaches an average of 21% compared to the same period of 2019, before the pandemic, as reported on Saturday 02/ 09 company sources.

The airline has authorized an increase in frequencies from Buenos Aires (AEP) to Comodoro Rivadavia (CRD), Formosa (FMA), La Rioja (IRJ), San Luis (LUQ) and Salta (SLA), among others.
