Aerolínea estatal argentina suspendía vuelos por falta de pasajeros
El Gobernador de la Provincia de La Rioja, Argentina, Ricardo Quintela, anunció el cierre de la aerolínea ALAS La Rioja de fomento provincial. La aerolínea regional que enlaza La Rioja con Buenos Aires fue fundada en Febrero 2022, una aerolínea que subcontrataba a la empresa American Jet con aeronaves Embraer E145 con el objetivo de atender la demanda en la ruta con dos vuelos semanales. Previo al último vuelo del 28 de Septiembre de 2023, el Gobierno de la Provincia de La Rioja gastó AR$ 1.216.776 Pesos, tras mas de un año de operaciones.
El Gobernador Ricardo Quintela anunció el cierre de la empresa, tras decidir no renovar el contrato con la empresa American Jet, dueña de la aeronave explotadora de los servicios aéreos.
ALAS La Rioja mantenía una demanda muy baja de pasajeros, incluso suspendiendo muchos vuelos debido a a falta de factor de ocupación importante para justificar la ruta. Tras deudas que acarreaban mes tras mes, la aerolínea acumuló un déficit de casi un millón de Dólares que afectaron las arcas del Gobierno provincial riojano.
El acuerdo contractual, según la titular de la Secretaría de Transporte Alcira Brizuela, el contrato con American Jet tenía una duración de seis meses por el monto de US$ 907.100 Dólares. Sin embargo, pasaron dieciocho meses y se mantiene en secreto cuales fueron las actualizaciones económicas que la Provincia de La Rioja tuvo que afrontar, pero estaría oscilando en un gasto total de alrededor de US$ 2.700.000 Dólares.

The Governor of the Province of La Rioja, Argentina, Ricardo Quintela, announced the closure of the provincial development airline ALAS La Rioja. The regional airline that links La Rioja with Buenos Aires was founded in February 2022, an airline that subcontracted the American Jet company with Embraer E145 aircraft with the aim of meeting the demand on the route with two weekly flights. Prior to the last flight on September 28, 2023, the Government of the Province of La Rioja spent AR$ 1,216,776 Pesos, after more than a year of operations.

ALAS La Rioja maintained a very low passenger demand, even suspending many flights due to the lack of a significant load factor to justify the route. After debts that carried month after month, the airline accumulated a deficit of almost one million dollars that affected the coffers of the La Rioja provincial government.
The contractual agreement, according to the head of the Secretary of Transportation Alcira Brizuela, the contract with American Jet had a duration of six months for the amount of US$ 907,100 dollars. However, eighteen months have passed and the economic updates that the Province of La Rioja had to face are kept secret, but it would be oscillating at a total expense of around US$ 2,700,000 Dollars.
