Incorporación nuevas rutas aéreas y aeronaves
Inversiones por casi 500 millones de Dólares
La aerolínea colombiana Avianca Airlines ha anunciado que en el marco de la millonaria inversión de alrededor de US$ 500 millones de Dólares abrirán 1.200 vacantes de empleo, en la que incluirán a los trabajadores afectados por el cese de operaciones de Viva y Ultra Air.
El CEO de Avianca, Adrián Neuhauser, anunció el Jueves 7 de Septiembre de 2023 que la aerolínea invertirá US$ 473 millones con los cuales incorporarán 16 aviones a su flota aérea, de los cuales 14 estarán destinados para Colombia. Las nuevas incorporaciones permitirán aumentar su presencia en el mercado doméstico colombiano, aumentando la oferta de vuelos en alrededor de 4.249 vuelos y 767.490 asientos adicionales en toda Colombia. La flota de aeronaves se incorporarán de manera paulatina entre Octubre de 2023 y Enero de 2024.
“Colombia es un país que por su geografía depende altamente de la conectividad aérea y por eso hemos estado más de 104 años presentes, 80% de nuestra operación está aquí y más de 8.500 personas hacen parte de nuestro equipo en Colombia. Nuevas frecuencias/destinos
Entre los destinos que se verán favorecidos con la nueva oferta de frecuencias áreas en Colombia están San Andrés, Villavicencio, Riohacha y Leticia, que entre otras cosas se vieron impactados por la suspensión de operaciones de Viva y Ultra Air.
El nuevo Deputy CEO, Frederico Pedreira, detalló que en zonas como San Andrés, incrementarán en un 75% el número de sus frecuencias semanales, pasando así de 30 a 53 vuelos adicionales a la semana, lo que representará un 75% más de conectividad para la isla. En el caso de la ruta Bogotá-Villavicencio, la aerolínea pasará de ofertar de uno a dos vuelos diarios, operando así 14 vuelos semanales entre las dos ciudades, para un crecimiento del 82% en el trayecto. El aumento de las frecuencias aéreas en Riohacha, Leticia, Ipiales y Pasto, por su parte, según Pedreira, serán de la siguiente manera: Riohacha: pasará de 20 a 28 vuelos semanales que conectarán con Bogotá. Leticia: pasará de 10 a 18 vuelos por semana para conectar con el centro del país. Ipiales: pasará de cuatro vuelos semanales a uno diario, para una oferta de 7 vuelos semanales. Pasto: pasará de 25 vuelos semanales a 42, para conectar el sur del país.
“Nos da un orgullo gigantesco ser la única aerolínea que sigue invirtiendo en Colombia, en las regiones, porque el reto es encontrar a alguien que de verdad esté invirtiendo en las regiones. Me da mucho orgullo decirles que como nunca, en invierno de este año, vamos a invertir en la conectividad del país”, señaló el Deputy CEO de Avianca.
Perspectivas Avianca
En el marco de esa millonaria inversión e incremento en la capacidad aérea, Avianca informó que generarán 1.200 empleos en su compañía, de los cuales 800 serán directamente para la operación de la aerolínea en Colombia. Aunque los ejecutivos de la compañía aérea no dieron una cifra oficial, indicaron que gran parte de esas vacantes buscarán llenarlas con los trabajadores afectados tras la quiebra de Viva y Ultra Air a mediados de este 2023. Con este nuevo plan de expansión, Avianca indicó que buscará ajustarse a la capacidad del Aeropuerto Internacional El Dorado en Bogotá, que pasará de tener 66 vuelos a 74 por hora en la temporada de viajes de final de año.

New frequencies/destinations
Among the destinations that will benefit from the new air frequency offer in Colombia are San Andrés, Villavicencio, Riohacha, and Leticia, which among other things were impacted by the suspension of Viva and Ultra Air operations.

Avianca Perspectives
Within the framework of this million-dollar investment and increase in air capacity, Avianca reported that they will generate 1,200 jobs in their company, of which 800 will be directly for the airline’s operation in Colombia. Although the executives of the airline did not give an official figure, they indicated that a large part of these vacancies will seek to fill them with the workers affected after the bankruptcy of Viva and Ultra Air in mid-2023.
