Ibom Air recibirá primer A220 hacia 4Q2023
Ibom Air de Nigeria ahora espera la entrega del primero de los diez Airbus A220-300 a partir de Noviembre de 2023, según el Director Comercial de la aerolínea George Uriesi. El A220-300 fue bien recibido en el mercado nigeriano y ayudó a mejorar el rendimiento de la aerolínea. Esto informó su decisión de ordenar diez nuevos A220-300 de Airbus en Octubre de 2021.
Ibom Air actualmente opera dos A320-200 arrendados con tripulación de Airhub Airlines y GetJet Airlines Latvia, y cinco CRJ900LR, tres propios y dos en arrendamientos operativos. George Uriesi dijo que Ibom Air estaba eligiendo sus modelos de aviones estratégicamente para mejorar su competitividad en el mercado nacional. El enfoque principal de Ibom Air era aumentar su presencia en el mercado africano, priorizando la seguridad y la calidad del servicio sobre la expansión intercontinental. La aerolínea ha logrado hitos notables, incluidos 2,5 millones de pasajeros el 12 de Julio de 2023; 34.802 vuelos programados al 31 de Agosto de 2023; y la certificación IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) en Marzo de 2023. Habiendo recibido su AOC en Mayo de 2019, Ibom Air es propiedad total del Gobierno del Estado de Akwa Ibom de Nigeria, a través de su vehículo Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP).

Ibom Air will receive first A220 around 4Q2023
Nigeria’s Ibom Air now expects delivery of the first of ten Airbus A220-300s from November 2023, according to the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer George Uriesi. The A220-300 was well received in the Nigerian market and helped improve the airline’s performance. This informed its decision to order ten new Airbus A220-300s in October 2021.
Ibom Air currently operates two wet-leased A320-200s from Airhub Airlines and GetJet Airlines Latvia, and five CRJ900LRs, three of its own and two on operating leases. George Uriesi said Ibom Air was choosing its aircraft models strategically to enhance its competitiveness in the domestic market. Ibom Air’s main focus was to increase its presence in the African market, prioritizing safety and quality of service over intercontinental expansion. The airline has achieved notable milestones, including 2.5 million passengers on July 12, 2023; 34,802 flights scheduled as of August 31, 2023; and IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification in March 2023. Having received its AOC in May 2019, Ibom Air is wholly owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government of Nigeria, through its Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP) vehicle.
