Aerolíneas Argentinas retorna ruta Buenos Aires—Porto Seguro

Aerolíneas Argentinas volverá a operar la ruta Buenos Aires/AEP—Porto Seguro/BPS, tras cinco años sin prestar servicios de conexión. La compañía ha establecido el destino internacional número 22 después de su cancelación en 2019. En el marco de la feria ABAV RIO 2023, desde la compañía de bandera dieron a conocer los detalles de la operación en las rutas con Brasil para la temporada de verano e invierno para el próximo año 2024. A partir de Abril 2024, Aerolíneas Argentinas contará en la ruta Buenos Aires/AEP—Porto Seguro/BPS con una frecuencia semanal (1Frq/S) y hacia Julio 2024, serán dos las frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S).

“Es un gran orgullo retomar las rutas que fueron abandonadas por la gestión anterior. Hoy tenemos más vuelos, más destinos, más aviones y mejores resultados económicos”, expresó el CEO de Aerolíneas Argentinas Pablo Ceriani.

Como parte de las estrategias de Aerolíneas Argentinas la aerolínea competirá con GOL Linhas Aéreas que inaugurará sus vuelos entre Porto Seguro y Buenos Aires a partir del 6 de Enero de 2024. La aerolínea volverá a operar esta ruta después de casi cinco años, ya que sus últimos servicios habían sido en febrero de 2019.

De acuerdo con el sistema de reserva, GOL Linhas Aéreas tendrá dos servicios semanales hasta el 31 de marzo próximo en aeronaves Boeing 737-800 y Boeing 737-8 MAX de 186 plazas.

Ampliación frecuencias
Aerolíneas ha confirmado la ampliación de frecuencias para la temporada de verano 2024, donde se destacan los vuelos Córdoba/COR—Río de Janeiro/GIG con tres vuelos semanales (3Frq/S), Mendoza/MDZ—Río de Janeiro/GIG con dos vuelos semanales (2Frq/S), Buenos Aires/AEP—Florianópolis/FLN con siete vuelos semanales (7Frq/S), Córdoba/COR—Florianópolis/FLN con tres vuelos semanales (3Frq/S) y Buenos Aires/AEP—Salvador de Bahía/SSA con cinco vuelos semanales (5Frq/S) operados con aeronaves Airbus 330-200. En la ruta Buenos Aires/AEP—São Paulo/GRU habrá 28 vuelos semanales (28Frq/S), Mendoza/MDZ—São Paulo/GRU con dos frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S) y Salta/SLA—São Paulo/GRU on una frecuencia semanal (1Frq/S) y Buenos Aires/AEP—Río Janeiro/GIG con veintisiete frecuencias semanales (27Frq/S).

Fabián Lombardo, Director Comercial de Aerolíneas Argentinas y encargado de la presentación en la feria, dijo que la participación en la ABAV 2023 tuvo como objetivo “mostrarles a los principales operadores turísticos de Brasil nuestra oferta para el próximo invierno. A partir de octubre, las agencias brasileñas estarán vendiendo nuestros vuelos. Estamos seguros de que tendremos un invierno 2024 aún mejor que el de este año”.

Reapertura Aeropuerto Termas de Río Hondo

El Aeropuerto Termas de Río Hondo (RHD) reabrió el 26 de Setiembre de 2023, luego de haber estado cerrado por obras de renovación que brindan mayor seguridad operacional y posibilitan la operación de aviones como los Boeing 737-800/MAX y los Airbus A320. Las obras demandaron una inversión de AR$ 3.034 millones de Pesos. Además, continúan las obras en la terminal de pasajeros iniciadas recientemente, que dejarán un aeropuerto internacional con servicios de alta calidad para los usuarios.

El cierre del aeropuerto santiagueño ha permitido obras en la nueva pista entre otros detalles mientras permaneció sin operaciones aerocomerciales durante 106 días. En los primeros cinco meses del año 2023 hubo un 78% más de pasajeros que en el mismo período de 2019, permitiendo actualizar las mejoras para profundizar las operaciones de las líneas aéreas.

La obra quedó inaugurada en un acto realizado en el Aeropuerto de Río Hondo, al que asistieron el Gobernador de Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora; el Secretario de Planificación de Transporte del Ministerio de Transporte de la Nación, Gastón Jaques; el Intendente de Río Hondo, Jorge Mukdise; el Presidente del Organismo Regulador del Sistema Nacional de Aeropuertos (ORSNA), Carlos Lugones Aignasse; el Vicepresidente del ORSNA, Fernando Muriel; un representante de la Empresa Argentina de Navegación Aérea (EANA) y el CEO de Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, Daniel Ketchibachian.

Daniel Ketchibachian, dijo que la nueva pista “forma parte del plan de modernización del Aeropuerto Internacional de Termas de Río Hondo, que se completará con la refuncionalización de la terminal. La nueva pista contribuirá a fortalecer y potenciar el turismo, uno de los factores claves en el desarrollo económico provincial”.

El Presidente del ORSNA indicó que “en estos últimos cuatro años de gestión de gobierno hemos impulsado más de 75 obras en todo el territorio federal y hemos invertido más de AR$ 120.000 millones en mejorar nuestras pistas, calles de rodaje, plataformas, sistemas de balizamiento y terminales aeroportuarias”.

Por su parte, al cierre del acto el Intendente Jorge Mukdise señaló que “esta obra es clave para potenciar la actividad turística en la provincia, es un sueño cumplido. El sector privado se compromete a llenar los vuelos para que sigamos creciendo como la ciudad termal más grande del mundo”.

Las obras se iniciaron el 12 de Junio de 2023 con el objetivo de repavimentar la pista y sus márgenes, la ampliación de las dársenas de giro en cabeceras, la repavimentación de la calle de rodaje Alpha y sus márgenes y la rehabilitación y ampliación de la plataforma comercial. Así, se amplían de 1 a 3 las posiciones para aeronaves con Clave de Referencia C, lo que hace a una operación más flexible con más capacidad y mayor seguridad.

Río Hondo es un aeropuerto estratégico para la Provincia de Santiago del Estero, pues conecta Buenos Aires con este importante centro turístico de la región. Entre Enero y Junio de 2023, el aeropuerto ha desarrollado un tráfico de 10.962 pasajeros lo que muestra un crecimiento del 47% contra el mismo período de 2019, en 2022 pasaron 23.027, un 128% más respecto de 2019 cuando se registraron 12.679.

DETALLES DE LA OBRA
Rehabilitación de pavimentos del área de movimientos:

  • Repavimentación de pista y márgenes pavimentados, reconstruyéndolos de manera total.
  • Ampliación de dársenas de giro en cabeceras de la pista, de manera que permitan la operación sin restricciones de todas las aeronaves que pueden operar en el Aeropuerto.
  • Repavimentación de la calle de rodaje Alpha y sus márgenes.
  • La Rehabilitación y ampliación de la plataforma comercial. Esta ampliación permitirá la operación de 3 aeronaves Clave C en simultaneo sin restricciones operativas y sin afectar la vida útil del pavimento

El tráfico de aeronaves aerocomerciales que operan en el Aeropuerto Internacional Termas de Río Hondo es casi en su totalidad Clave C, es decir habilitado para operaciones con aeronaves Boeing 737, Airbus A320, Embraer E190, por lo que los trabajos ejecutados, optimizarán la operación de estas aeronaves.

El primer vuelo al Aeropuerto Internacional de La Tontouta en Noumea será el 30 de Noviembre de 2023, y a partir del 7 de Diciembre de 2023, la aerolínea nacional volará dos veces por semana, los Lunes y Jueves. La aerolínea desplegará uno de sus aviones Boeing 737-8 MAX en la nueva ruta en Oceanía. La configuración aereonaves en 170 pasajeros en una configuración de clase dual, que comprende ocho asientos reclinables de Clase Ejecutiva configurados 2-2 y 162 asientos de Clase Económica.

Fiji Airways, socio de conexión de Oneworld, tiene un acuerdo de servicio aéreo existente que permite a la aerolínea prestar servicios en territorios franceses en el Pacífico Sur.

Launch of the Nadi—Noumea route

Fiji Airways has announced the launch of the Nadi/NAN—Noumea/NOU route with two weekly frequencies (2Frq/S) between its base in Fiji and the capital of New Caledonia. The first flight to La Tontouta International Airport in Noumea will be on November 30, 2023, and from December 7, 2023, the national airline will fly twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. The airline will deploy one of its Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft on the new route in Oceania. The aircraft configuration accommodates 170 passengers in a dual-class configuration, comprising eight lie-flat Business Class seats configured 2-2 and 162 Economy Class seats.

Oneworld’s connecting partner Fiji Airways has an existing air service agreement that allows the airline to serve French territories in the South Pacific.

“On the basis of this agreement, we were able to negotiate with our counterparts in New Caledonia and select a date for the start of services between Nadi and Noumea. At Fiji Airways we are very excited about the prospects of this new route,” said the CEO and CEO of Fiji Airways, Andre Viljoen.

“In addition, thanks to our codeshare partners, we are able to connect New Caledonians to over 100 destinations around the world. Noumea is the third new market added to the Fiji Airways network since international borders opened in December 2021. Aerolínea estadounidense amplía rutas en Europa y Asia

Delta Air Lines ha anunciado nuevas rutas desde Nueva York (JFK) a Munich (MUC) y Nápoles (NAP) para el verano septentrional de 2024, como parte de lo que dice que serán sus horarios transatlánticos más grandes el próximo año. Delta launches JFK to Munich and Naples

US airline expands routes in Europe and Asia

Delta Air Lines has announced new routes from New York (JFK) to Munich (MUC) and Naples (NAP) for northern summer 2024, as part of what it says will be its largest transatlantic schedule next year. The American airline will offer the New York/JFK—Naples/NAP route with a daily frequency (1Frq/D) starting May 23, 2024, which will be added to Delta’s existing Italian routes to Milan, Rome, and Venice. The airline will also launch a New York/JFK—Munich/MUN service with three weekly frequencies (3Frq/S) starting April 9, 2024. Delta will compete with Lufthansa on the new route.

The airline will resume New York/JFK—Shannon/ flights on May 23, 2024, the first time the route has operated since 2019. Aer Lingus also flies between the two airports. The resumption of the route to Shannon, Ireland, follows the airline’s recent announcement of new flights between Minneapolis St-Paul and Dublin by summer 2024. In total, Delta will offer nearly 260 weekly flights from JFK to 18 countries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East next summer.

From its hub in Atlanta, the airline will operate flights four times a week to Zurich starting May 31, 2024, and will also add frequencies from Atlanta to Paris and Venice next summer, in addition to increasing flights from Cincinnati and Detroit to Paris, from New York (JFK) to Barcelona, from Detroit to Reykjavík and from Boston to Athens.

A year-round service between Los Angeles and Shanghai Pudong Airport will resume on March 31, 2024, operating four times a week.

The airline recently completed its US$ 2.3 billion Delta Sky Way project at LAX and currently serves thirteen international cities from the airport, including London, Paris, Tokyo, and Sydney.

Qatar Airways reanuda las rutas de Chengdu y Chongqing

Qatar Airways ha reanudado los vuelos a Chengdu y Chongqing en el suroeste de China. Ambas rutas serán operadas por aviones Airbus A330-300 de Qatar Airways, con capacidad para 30 pasajeros en la cabina de clase ejecutiva 2-2-2 y 275 en clase económica en una configuración 2-4-2.

Qantas Airways ha anunciado el restablecimiento de la ruta Sydney/SYD—Shanghai-Pudong/PVG se reanudará el 29 de Octubre de 2023 con cinco frecuencias semanales (5Frq/S). New services to the Solomon Islands, New Zealand, and Japan

Qantas Airways has announced the restoration of the Sydney/SYD—Shanghai-Pudong/PVG route will resume on October 29, 2023, with five weekly frequencies (5Frq/S). Australia’s Qantas Group, which includes airline group Qantas Airways and low-cost carrier JetStar Airlines, has said new aircraft deliveries and wet lease agreements will help increase international capacity by twelve percentage points by 4Q2023, an increase in the service network of almost fifty per week.

Flights on the Sydney-Shanghai route will depart at 10:55 from Sydney every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, arriving in Shanghai at 18:30 on the same days. Qantas will deploy its A330-200 aircraft on the route to Shanghai, China. The configuration of the widebody aircraft in two classes with 27 or 28 lie-flat Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration and between 224 and 243 Economy Class seats configured 2-4-2. On Sydney-Shanghai, Qantas will compete with its partner airline China Eastern Airlines, which will fly the route eleven times a week with A350-900 aircraft.

Qantas Airways has confirmed the expansion of further services this week that would launch new routes Brisbane/BNE—Honiara/HIR in the Solomon Islands, as well as Brisbane/BNE—Wellington/WLG, in New Zealand. As a further boost to its Brisbane base, it has confirmed the launch of a new JetStar service between the Queensland capital and Tokyo, launching the Brisbane/BNE—Tokyo/HND, Japan route.

Improvements at Qantas Group
Australian Oneworld member Qantas Airways said on September 25 it would invest a further AU$ 80 million Australian Dollars/US$ 51 million in customer improvements in fiscal 2024, on top of the previously budgeted AU$ 150 million, which will be financed with profits. JetStar, the low-cost airline of the Qantas group, with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft that operate medium and long-distance services.

Qantas notes that this additional investment aims to address a number of customer pain points through improvements such as better contact center resources and training, an increase in the number of seats that can be redeemed with frequent flyer points, a more generous recovery support when operational issues arise, as well as a review of long-standing policies for equity and quality improvements in inflight catering.
