Obliga a Ryanair a cancelar vuelos temporada invierno 2023-2024
Ryanair ha anunciado el Jueves, 28 de Septiembre de 2023 una serie de reducciones en su programación para el invierno 2023/2024, como consecuencia de los retrasos en la entrega de aviones de la marca Boeing entre los meses de Septiembre y Diciembre. Las cancelaciones entrarán en vigor a finales de Octubre y se comunicarán a todos los pasajeros afectados por correo electrónico en los próximos días.
La low cost irlandesa esperaba recibir 27 aviones en este intervalo, pero debido a los retrasos de producción en las instalaciones de Spirit Aerosystems en Wichita, Kansas, Estados Unidos, sumado a los retrasos en las reparaciones y entregas de Boeing en Seattle (WA), la previsión ahora es de tan solo la mitad en 14 aviones entre Octubre y Diciembre 2023.
Ryanair informa de que está trabajando con el fabricante de aviones para intentar acelerar las entregas en el periodo de Enero a Mayo de 2024, con el objetivo de que pueda iniciar la temporada alta de viajes del verano próximo con los 57 nuevos aviones previstos.
Como resultado de estos aplazamientos, Ryanair realizará esta semana una serie de ajustes en su programa de invierno. Así, reducirá en tres el número de aviones con base en Charleroi (Bélgica), en dos los de Dublín (Irlanda), y se reducirán también cinco aviones de las cuatro bases italianas, incluyendo Bérgamo, Nápoles y Pisa. También habrá reducciones de aviones en East Midlands (Reino Unido), Oporto (Portugal) y Colonia (Alemania).
La aerolínea irlandesa ha pedido disculpas por estas reducciones inevitables en su programación de invierno, pero justifica la decisión en que no dispone de aviones de repuesto suficientes. Según explica, es necesario realizar un mantenimiento programado en toda su flota, de más de 550 aeronaves, con el fin de tenerlas disponibles para el programa de verano que la compañía tiene previsto para 2024.
“Estamos trabajando muy de cerca con Boeing y su proveedor, Spirit, para minimizar estos retrasos en las entregas. Es muy lamentable que los problemas de producción en Wichita y en Seattle hayan vuelto a retrasar las entregas contratadas por Ryanair a Boeing para este invierno. Estas cancelaciones entrarán en vigor a finales de octubre y se comunicarán a todos los pasajeros afectados por correo electrónico en los próximos días. Se les ofrecerá el realojamiento en vuelos alternativos o el reembolso íntegro si así lo desean. Pedimos sinceras disculpas a nuestros pasajeros por las molestias causadas por estos retrasos en las entregas de este invierno”, ha señalado Michael O’Leary, CEO de Ryanair.

The Irish airline has apologized for these inevitable reductions in its winter schedule but justifies the decision by not having enough spare planes. As he explains, it is necessary to carry out scheduled maintenance on its entire fleet, of more than 550 aircraft, in order to have them available for the summer program that the company plans for 2024.
“We are working closely with Boeing and its supplier, Spirit, to minimize these delivery delays. It is very unfortunate that production problems in Wichita and Seattle have once again delayed the deliveries contracted by Ryanair to Boeing for this winter. These cancellations will take effect at the end of October and will be communicated to all affected passengers by email in the coming days. They will be offered re-accommodation on alternative flights or a full refund if they wish. We sincerely apologize to our passengers for the inconvenience caused by these delays in deliveries this winter”, said Michael O’Leary, CEO of Ryanair.
