Aeropuerto Tulum inauguración 1 Diciembre 2023
El Aeropuerto Internacional de Tulum (TQO), será oficialmente inaugurado el Viernes, 1 de Diciembre de 2023, junto con el inicio de operaciones del aeropuerto también denominado Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Carrillo Puerto, ubicado a unos diez kilómetros al suroeste de Tulum, Quintana Roo, México. El desarrollo de esta nueva terminal aérea en el Estado de Quintana Roo (QR), permitirá la construcción de un corredor comercial y de servicios a lo largo de 10.5 kilómetros de la Carretera Federal 307 y propiciará la edificación de una ciudad aeroportuaria con reordenamiento urbano.
El Aeropuerto Tulum ha sido construido por la Secretaría de Defensa Nacional (SEDENA), ha sido planificado con el objetivo de reactivar el turismo en la Riviera Maya, convirtiéndose en la segunda puerta de ingreso en el sureste mexicano después del Aeropuerto Cancún (CUN). El nuevo aeropuerto será inaugurado por el Presidente mexicano Manuel López Obrador.
Cronología Tulum
En Marzo de 2011 debía concluirse la licitación de los contratos de construcción. A partir de Abril de 2014, todos los proyectos relacionados con el Aeropuerto de Tulum dejaron de estar disponibles a través de los sitios oficiales, y tras la toma de posesión de Andrés Manuel López Obrador como Presidente en 2018, se puso énfasis en el Tren Maya. Sin embargo, en los últimos años se reestablecieron los planes y el aeropuerto está programado para abrir en Diciembre de 2023.
En Marzo de 2022, el Presidente López Obrador informó que para los trabajos de construcción del Aeropuerto Internacional de Tulum y los tramos 6 y 7 del Tren Maya, partirán a la Península de Yucatán 80 ingenieros militares que se sumarian a los 75 que partieron el antes para comenzar los trabajos de edificación, por lo que sumarian 155 los efectivos que participarían en las obras.
Las obras de construcción del aeropuerto comenzaron en los primeros días de Junio de 2022 y se desarrollará en un predio de 1.200 hectáreas de terreno en el Municipio de Felipe Carrillo Puerto, sitio a las afueras del poblado turístico. Bautizado con el nombre de Felipe Carrillo Puerto, el Aeropuerto de Tulum representa más que un proyecto de infraestructura. Con una inversión que supera los MX$ 3.200 millones de Pesos, se espera que este aeródromo atienda a más de 5.5 millones de pasajeros y facilite hasta 32.000 operaciones anuales. Se contempla que una vez concluido, contará con 13 posiciones para estacionar aviones que permitan suficientes operaciones para que pueda recibir a 4 millones de pasajeros al año, poco menos de una sexta parte de los más de 25 millones que recibió el Aeropuerto de Cancún en 2019, antes de la pandemia. La distancia entre el Aeropuerto Tulum y el Aeropuerto de Cancún es de 118 km, tomando la carretera Chetumal-Cancún.
Servicios Tulum
Para la inauguración del Aeropuerto Tulum, para los vuelos domésticos brindará servicios a cinco ciudades dentro del país a cargo de tres aerolíneas a los siguientes destinos: Ciudad de México (MEX), Ciudad de México (NLU), Guadalajara (GDL), Monterrey (MTY) y Tijuana (TIJ). Los servicios de Aeroméxico serán operados por Aeroméxico Connect. Los servicios internacionales programados serán cubiertos por cuatro aerolíneas a diez destinos, incluye un seervicio estacional. Las aerolíneas que darán apertura a los vuelos corresponden a Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines, Spirit Airlines. Entre las aerolíneas europeas, British Airways ha manifestado su interés en convertirse en la primera aerolínea en operar rutas hacia el Aeropuerto Felipe Carrillo Puerto. El mercado británico ocupa actualmente el cuarto lugar para México y sus destinos favoritos son Cancún y la Riviera Maya.
United Airlines y Delta Air Lines se encuentran entre las primeras aerolíneas en anunciar vuelos directos al Aeropuerto Tulum, uno de los principales proyectos del Gobierno mexicano para impulsar la actividad económica en la región. United lanzará 22 vuelos semanales desde Nueva Jersey/Liberty/Newark (EWR), Nueva York (JFK), Houston (IAH) y Chicago (ORD) a Tulum (TQO) a finales de Marzo 2024, y agregará servicio desde Los Ángeles (LAX), según un comunicado de United este Viernes 17/11. Delta Air Lines ofrecerá un servicio sin escalas desde Atlanta (ATL) a Tulum (TQO) a partir del 28 de Marzo de 2024, informó la aerolínea el Jueves 16/11.

Tulum Services

United Airlines and Delta Air Lines are among the first airlines to announce direct flights to Tulum Airport, one of the Mexican Government’s main projects to boost economic activity in the region. United will launch 22 weekly flights from New Jersey/Liberty/Newark (EWR), New York (JFK), Houston (IAH), and Chicago (ORD) to Tulum (TQO) in late March 2024, and will add service from Los Angeles (LAX ), according to a statement from United this Friday, 11/17. Tren Maya
El aeropuerto contara con una estación del Tren Maya, la cual será la segunda que tendrá la ciudad de Tulum, la primera se llamará Estación de Tulum y se ubicará cerca de los terrenos de la Estación Aeronaval de Tulum, al noreste de la mancha urbana de Tulum. El Tren Maya será un transporte ferroviario de larga distancia que conectará al sureste en México. Es propiedad de la empresa pública Olmeca-Maya-Mexica. El tren prestará tres tipos de servicios: tren de pasajeros, tren turístico y tren de carga. El primer segmento del Tren Maya será inaugurado el próximo viernes 15 de diciembre, con la apertura de los tramos 1, 2, 3 y 4, que van de Campeche a Cancún. A finales de Diciembre 2023 se abrirá un segmento que irá de Cancún a Palenque. El proyecto ferroviario en su totalidad estará listo el 29 de Febrero de 2024.
Mayan Train
