Colombia iniciará fabricación piezas para aviones Airbus
El Gobierno de Colombia ha realizado en Mayo de 2023 la firma de un Memorando de Entendimmiento (MoU) en España con la compañía aeroespacial Airbus Group con el fin de dinamizar y potenciar el desarrollo de la industria aeroespacial, la cual ha sido identificada como un sector estratégico en el país. El acuerdo, en el que han intervenido activamente los ministerios de Defensa, y de Comercio, Industria y Turismo, así como la Asociación Nacional de Empresarios (Andi), es el punto de partida para el cumplimiento del plan de reindustrialización del sector aeroespacial previsto en el Plan Nacional de Desarrollo 2022-2026 de Colombia.
El memorando con Airbus permitirá definir necesidades, principios y plazos para las oportunidades en conjunto entre el Gobierno, universidades y la industria aeronáutica, con el objetivo de producción local de partes aeronáuticas, la transferencia de conocimiento y de tecnologías en el sector y a promover una mayor generación de empleo en la industria aeroespacial. La futura participación de la Universidad de San Buenaventura (USB) en este acuerdo permitirá la cooperación entre la multinacional francesa y el Gobierno de Colombia. Esta institución fabricó el primer dron del país, sumado a que en los últimos años también ha desarrollado más de siete propuestas de aeronaves remotamente tripuladas que han sido protegidas a través de patentes y diseños industriales. Asimismo, cuenta con el único programa acreditado en Alta Calidad en Ingeniería Aeronáutica y la primera Maestría en Ingeniería Aeroespacial. Del mismo modo, es la primera IES de Colombia que tiene las certificaciones Trípoli I y II (certificación para la construcción y el lanzamiento de cohetes en Estados Unidos) y además viene realizando diversos estudios académicos relacionados con el desarrollo e implementación de biocombustibles en la industria aeroespacial y de la aviación, con el fin de reducir las emisiones de gases contaminantes producidas por ésta.
De acuerdo con Rafael Mauricio Cerpa, decano de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la USB, “en este momento Airbus está validando otras capacidades encontradas en el sector y sólo hasta que se cumplan unos estándares específicos de calidad que exige esta multinacional se dará inicio al proceso de fabricación de piezas y componentes para las aeronaves, acompañado de la transferencia de conocimiento a la industria nacional”. Finalmente, Mauricio Cerpa comentó que la idea es vincular a este proyecto a los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la institución. “Los alumnos se capacitarán y desarrollarán soluciones a la problemática planteada por AIRBUS, lo que permitirá que a futuro puedan vincularse con la compañía”, concluyó Mauricio Cerpa.

Likewise, it has the only accredited High-Quality program in Aeronautical Engineering and the first Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering. Likewise, it is the first IES in Colombia that has Tripoli I and II certifications (certification for the construction and launch of rockets in the United States) and has also been carrying out various academic studies related to the development and implementation of biofuels in the industry. aerospace and aviation, in order to reduce the emissions of polluting gases produced by it.
