Malaysia Airlines toma entrega primer Boeing 737 MAX

Malaysia Airlines ha recibido el primer Boeing 737 MAX a su flota. La aeronave Boeing 737-8 MAX ha ingresado a la compañía el Jueves 16/11 de los que ha ordenado 25 unidades. Retraso entregas

Malaysia Airlines has taken delivery of the first Boeing 737 MAX to its fleet. The Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft entered the company on Thursday 11/16, of which 25 units have been ordered. FIRST BOEING 737-8 MAX FOR MALAYSIA AIRLINES

Delayed deliveries
The first delivery was delayed by the manufacturer several times. A delivery target was set in May 2023, but it was later revised to August 2023, and then delayed again by three months, to November 2023. At the CAPA Asia Aviation Summit on November 2, 2023, the Director General and Malaysia Airlines Group Chief Executive Officer Izham Ismail said he was very disappointed by the change in the delivery schedule. A formal request for proposals for the narrowbody order is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2024. New aircraft are also arriving in the widebody fleet. Malaysia Airlines has secured the lease for an additional Airbus A350, which is expected to enter service in December. The airline already operates six A350s. Malaysia Airlines is in the market for three more leased A350s, Izham Ismail said. The airline is scheduled to take delivery of its first A330neo in September 2024, which will replace the airline’s current A330 fleet.
