Boeing superó en ventas a Airbus en Dubai Air Show 2023

The Boeing Company ha desarrollado una buena performance en la feria Dubai Air Show (DAS) de 2023, la feria aeroespacial celebrada la pasada semana en el Aeropuerto Internacional Dubai (DXB) de la ciudad de Dubai, en los Emiratos Árabes Unidos (EAU). Al contrario de lo ocurrido en la última edición del Salón Aeronáutico de París 2022, en el balance de esta concentración aeroespacial emiratí el fabricante norteamericano ha superado ampliamente en pedidos a su competidor europeo Airbus Group.

Boeing empezó con buen pie la feria de Dubai. A primeras horas de la mañana del día Lunes 13/11 de la jornada inaugural anunciaba tres pedidos importantes: la compra de 90 aviones Boeing 737 MAX por parte de la aerolínea turca SunExpress, otra orden de aviones Beonig 777X y cinco aviones 787 Dreamliner más por Emirates Airline, la gran protagonista de la feria de aviación, y los 30 aviones 787 Dreamliners encargados por flydubai.

Los pedidos recibidos por el fabricante norteamericano la pasada semana casi triplicaron los registrados en la edición anterior en Dubai Airshow 2021 y se acercaron al total de los obtenidos el pasado mes de Junio 2023 en el Salón Aeronáutico de París Le Bourget, en Francia.

Según todas las fuentes, en los cuatro primeros días de la feria Boeing había conseguido 295 pedidos totales, 246 órdenes en firme de aviones comerciales. Por su parte, su competidor europeo habrá recibido 86 pedidos de aviones comerciales, mientras se enfrentaba a negociaciones de acuerdos en curso y críticas sobre el coste y el rendimiento de los motores Rolls-Royce que equipan sus variantes del A350. Si bien es verdad que Turkish Airlines, adelantó un pedido de más de 350 aviones en vísperas del salón, Airbus declaró que existía un acuerdo de principio, pero no se había firmado nada formalmente.

Las aerolíneas en Dubai se lanzaron a hacer pedidos de aviones de fuselaje ancho por valor de US$ 67.000 millones de Dólares a precio de catálogo, mientras las aerolíneas nacionales saudíes y turcas ultimaban negociaciones para pedidos muti-millonarios. Otra diferencia notable entre la feria de Dubai y la de Le Bouget es que en ésta los fabricantes aeronáuticos recibieron importantes pedidos de aviones de fuselaje estrecho, mientras que este segmento apenas ha tenido influencia en el salón aeronáutico de Dubai Airshow 2023.

Boeing surpassed Airbus in sales at Dubai Air Show 2023

The Boeing Company has developed a good performance at the 2023 Dubai Air Show (DAS), the aerospace fair held last week at Dubai International Airport (DXB) in the city of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Contrary to what happened in the last edition of the 2022 Paris Air Show, in the balance of this Emirati aerospace concentration, the North American manufacturer has far surpassed its European competitor Airbus Group in orders.

Boeing started the Dubai fair on the right foot. Early in the morning of Monday, 11/13, the opening day announced three important orders: the purchase of 90 Boeing 737 MAX airplanes by the Turkish airline SunExpress, another order for Beonig 777X airplanes, and five more 787 Dreamliner airplanes by Emirates Airline, the main protagonist of the aviation fair, and the 30 787 Dreamliners ordered by flydubai.

The orders received by the North American manufacturer last week almost tripled those registered in the previous edition at Dubai Airshow 2021 and were close to the total of those obtained last June 2023 at the Paris Air Show Le Bourget, in France.

According to all sources, in the first four days of the show Boeing had obtained 295 total orders, 246 firm orders for commercial aircraft. For its part, its European competitor will have received 86 orders for commercial aircraft, while facing ongoing deal negotiations and criticism over the cost and performance of the Rolls-Royce engines powering its A350 variants. While it is true that Turkish Airlines placed an order for more than 350 aircraft on the eve of the show, Airbus stated that there was an agreement in principle, but nothing had been formally signed.

Airlines in Dubai launched orders for wide-body aircraft worth US$ 67 billion at list prices, while Saudi and Turkish national airlines finalized negotiations for multi-million dollar orders. Another notable difference between the Dubai Fair and Le Bouget is that in the latter aeronautical manufacturers received important orders for narrow-body aircraft, while this segment hardly had any influence at the Dubai Airshow 2023.
