He had not yet confirmed whether any of his many creditors, including airports, ground handlers and refuelers, could expect to be paid the millions they were owed.

Amid the upheaval of the young Australian airline, Virgin Australia Airlines and Qantas Airways have offered to repatriate those stranded away from their home airports when all Bonza flights were suddenly canceled this week. On Tuesday 04/30, Bonza’s four remaining aircraft were seized by AIP Capital, an investment house owned by the parent company of 777 Partners, ACAP, to recover money owed to investors. AIP confirmed that the aircraft had been transferred on 04/09 to a new carrier, Phoenix Aviation Capital, which is owned by insurance giant ACAP.

Bonza Airlines CEO Tim Jordan told staff Tuesday 4/30 that the airline and 777 Partners were unaware of the plan to seize the planes and were considering the viability of their operations. The airline’s Board of Directors held an emergency meeting on Tuesday afternoon, April 30, 2024 to consider its options, but entered voluntary administration shortly afterwards. Some sources close to the administrators said the group was hoping to secure new sponsors, while others have ruled out any hope of the airline getting off the ground again.
