Políticas sobre Antispam y Suplantación de Identidad (Phishing)
El spam o correo basura son los correos no deseados o de remitentes desconocidos, habitualmente de tipo publicitario y enviados en grandes cantidades. El spam es, esencialmente, robo de recursos. Quien recibe correo no deseado termina absorbiendo los costos de almacenamiento en disco, CPU y memoria.
Los spammers utilizan distintas técnicas para hacerse con las direcciones de correo con el fin de confeccionar listas para llevar a cabo su actividad, generalmente a través de robots o programas automáticos. Una de las formas más sofisticadas de envío de correo spam, es la creación de virus que se distribuyen entre las computadoras no protegidas por programas antivirus / firewall.
El envío es realizado luego utilizando programas destinados a tal fin. La recepción de este tipo de correos genera pérdidas al receptor en concepto de tiempo y dinero, así como también perjudica a internet en función del ancho de banda destinado a este tipo de envíos.
Un correo de suplantación de identidad (phishing) es un mensaje que parece legítimo, pero es un intento de obtener información personal u obtener un rédito económico. Los mensajes provenientes del phishing empplean una técnica denominada suplantación de direcciones para que aparezca como si ha recibido un correo electrónico de forma manual.
¿Cómo identificar un correo falso?
La siguiente lista enumera los principales indicadores a observar cuando tratas de identificar un correo falso. Ninguno de estos indicadores es infalible ni definitivo, sin embargo son guías para protegerte de mails fraudulentos o de phishing.
Dominio del correo electrónico
La verificación más básica que se puede hacer es que el dominio del correo electrónico (lo que viene después del símbolo @) corresponda a la compañía que en teoría está enviando el correo. Debe ser un dominio que no deje lugar a dudas que es legítimo.
Cuenta equivocada
Si tienes varias cuentas de correo, una forma sencilla es esta: pregúntate si la dirección a la que te llegó el correo electrónico es la que le proporcionaste a la compañía u organismo que te envió el correo electrónico. De no ser así, puedes decir con certeza que se trata de un intento de fraude.
Archivos adjuntos
Si una compañía u organismo te envía un documento, casi siempre será en la forma de un PDF. Se debe tener especial cuidado con imágenes. Regla: si el archivo adjunto está en el formato de HTML, EXE, o algún formato que haga que el sistema operativo te pida permiso para ejecutarlo, es casi seguro que se trata de malware o phishing.
Verifica si es una página segura (SSL)
Si hiciste clic en un enlace que trae uno de estos correos electrónicos, asegúrate antes de dar cualquier tipo de información, de que la página esté usando una dirección HTTPS (usa SSL). Las páginas falsas hacen usualmente un buen trabajo en falsificar las verdaderas, pero no pueden falsificar tan fácilmente un certificado de SSL mismo que toda compañía que maneje dinero o subscripciones debe usar para páginas de información confidencial.
El correo electrónico es uno de los sistemas de comunicación más usados hoy en día, lo que implica que también sea usado de manera fraudulenta para enviar software malicioso a otros usuarios, la ciberdelincuencia, el envío constante de spam o la cantidad de fraudes y problemas de seguridad que se originan a través del correo electrónico.
Las políticas de Airgways® en Airgways.com no tolerará bajo ningún concepto el uso del servicio para el envío de correo spam o no deseado así como tampoco la recepción de mensajes de este tipo que provengan de terceros u otros servidores.

Policies on Antispam and Identity Impersonation (Phishing)
Spam or junk mail is unwanted emails or unknown senders, usually of an advertising nature and sent in large quantities. Spam is essentially resource theft. Who receives spam ends up absorbing the costs of storage on disk, CPU, and memory.
Spammers use different techniques to obtain email addresses in order to create lists to carry out their activity, usually through robots or automatic programs. One of the most sophisticated ways of sending spam mail is the creation of viruses that are distributed among computers not protected by antivirus/firewall programs.
The shipment is then made using programs designed for that purpose. The reception of this type of mail generates losses to the receiver in the concept of time and money, as well as harms the internet depending on the bandwidth destined to this type of shipment.
An email of phishing is a message that seems legitimate, but it is an attempt to obtain personal information or obtain an economic return. Phishing messages use a technique called spoofing to appear as if you received an email manually.
How to identify a fake email?
The following list lists the main indicators to observe when trying to identify a fake email. None of these indicators is infallible or definitive, however, they are guides to protect you from fraudulent emails or phishing.
The domain of the email
The most basic verification that can be done is that the domain of the email (which comes after the @ symbol) corresponds to the company that is, in theory, sending the mail. It must be a domain that leaves no doubt that it is legitimate.
Wrong account
If you have several email accounts, a simple way is this: ask yourself if the address to which you received the email is the one you provided to the company or organization that sent you the email. If not, you can say with certainty that it is an attempt at fraud.
Attached files
If a company or organization sends you a document, it will almost always be in the form of a PDF. You must take special care with images. Rule: if the attached file is in HTML format, EXE, or some format that makes the operating system ask you for permission to execute it, it is almost certainly malware or phishing.
Verify if it is a secure page (SSL)
If you click on a link that brings one of these emails, make sure before giving any type of information, that the page is using an HTTPS address (use SSL). Fake pages usually do a good job of falsifying the true ones, but they can not easily falsify an SSL certificate itself that every company that handles money or subscriptions must use for confidential information pages.
Email is one of the most used communication systems nowadays, which means that it is also used fraudulently to send malicious software to other users, cybercrime, the constant sending of spam or the amount of frauds and problems of Security that originate through email.
