Paro afectará transporte aéreo

El paro general de la CGT (Confederación General del Trabajo) se lleva a cabo el Jueves 9 de Mayo de 2024 en la República Argentina. Se trata de la segunda huelga que la central obrera realiza durante el Gobierno de Javier Milei. En esa jornada del día Jueves 09/05, muchos servicios no funcionarán, como es el caso del transporte aéreo, ferroviaria, bus. Se espera que haya cancelaciones o reprogramaciones en distintas compañías aéreas.

En los últimos días, la Asociación Pilotos de Líneas Aéreas (APLA) ratificó su participación en la convocatoria obrera. Por lo tanto, los pilotos afiliados al gremio no volarán durante el Jueves 9 de Mayo de 2024. La Asociación del Personal Aeronáutico (APA) y la Unión del Personal Superior y Profesional de Empresas Aerocomerciales (UPSA) se suman a la medida de fuerza. Además, Aerolíneas Argentinas confirmó que no se realizarán vuelos esa fecha. Las operaciones de Intercargo ― que se ocupa de los servicios de asistencia en tierra para los aviones― se verá afectada por la protesta. La Asociación Técnicos y Empleados de Protección y Seguridad a la Aeronavegación (Atepsa) ―que nuclea a los trabajadores del servicio de tráfico aéreo― también se pliega a la protesta convocada por la CGT, pero no frena sus operaciones las 24 horas que están estipuladas para la huelga al ser un servicio esencial.

Esta situación obliga a la mayoría de las aerolíneas a reprogramar o cancelar sus vuelos tanto nacionales como internacionales. Las operaciones en el principal aeropuerto doméstico de Argentina, Buenos Aires/Jorge Newbery (AEP) estará totalmente sin operaciones, como el resto de las aeroestaciones del país; mientras que el Aeropuerto Ezeiza tendrá algunos vuelos de American Airlines y de Flybondi Líneas Aéreas. Respecto de Flybondi específicamente, desde la empresa informaron que trasladarán toda su operación a Ezeiza para garantizar la salida de aviones. Asimismo, recomiendan a sus pasajeros chequear el estado del vuelo en el sitio web oficial, en la sección “Mi Reserva”. JetSMART Airlines Argentina informó a sus clientes que tienen programado sus vuelos para esa fecha pueden cambiar de día sin costo. Así lo indica un comunicado que emitió la compañía el Domingo 5 de Mayo de 2024 y ofreció un link para que se puedan hacer estas modificaciones.

Por su parte, AirEuropa advirtió sobre cancelaciones de los vuelos que estaban programados para el 09/05. La empresa española aclaró que se trata de una medida por causas ajenas relacionadas con la huelga general.

Por el momento, otras compañías aéreas no se pronunciaron sobre los efectos que puede provocar el paro general en sus servicios. Antes de tomar algún vuelo el 9 de Mayo de 2024, se sugiere revisar el estado del vuelo para cerciorarse de que no sea cancelado. Esto se puede hacer unas 24 horas antes del horario de partida. Para chequear esta información, uno debe ingresar a la página oficial de la compañía aérea o en el website de Aeropuertos Argentina 2000.

Se espera que a partir de las primeras horas del Viernes 10 de Mayo de 2024, al finalizar el paro general, se retomen los servicios de los vuelos de las líneas aéreas en Argentina.

The general strike of the CGT (General Confederation of Labor) takes place on Thursday, May 9, 2024, in the Argentine Republic. The Association of Air Navigation Protection and Safety Technicians and Employees (Atepsa), which brings together air traffic service workers, also joins the protest called by the CGT but does not stop its operations for the 24 hours that are stipulated for the strike is an essential service.

This situation forces most airlines to reschedule or cancel their domestic and international flights. Likewise, they recommend their passengers check the status of the flight on the official website, in the “My Reservation” section. JetSMART Airlines Argentina informed its customers who have their flights scheduled for that date can change the day at no cost. This is indicated in a statement issued by the company on Sunday, May 5, 2024, and offered a link so that these modifications can be made.

For its part, AirEuropa warned about cancellations of flights that were scheduled for 05/09. The Spanish company clarified that this is a measure due to unforeseen causes related to the general strike.

For the moment, other airlines have not commented on the effects that the general strike may have on their services. Before taking a flight on May 9, 2024, it is suggested to check the status of the flight to make sure it is not canceled. This can be done about 24 hours before departure time.
