New airline Zoom!

They are looking to start a new airline in the United States

Former CEO of Global Crossing’s Group (GlobalX), Ed Wegel, has announced that he is looking to launch his own airline called Zoom!, which will operate a variety of routes from the State of Florida. Earlier this year, the former executive revealed his plans to launch a scheduled airline that will initially launch with several Embraer E-jets before transitioning to the Airbus A220 aircraft within a few years.

The Embraer E190-E1 and E195-E1 are powered by General Electric CF34 engines, while the aircraft’s seating configuration and assigned routes are not yet part of the announcements. However, the founder of the airline has inferred that it will operate a network similar to the former Air Florida, which operated from its operations center in Miami to 99 destinations in the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, and Central America. Another unique feature is that the airline is looking to attract novice pilots with its plan to work together with UrbanLink. This startup appears to operate the eVTOL Lilium Jet. It will recruit pilots at 500 hours and build with UrbanLink until they are ready to operate the Embraer aircraft and, eventually, the Airbus A220.
