Volaris inaugura nueva ruta Cancún-McAllen

Volaris Airlines, la aerolínea mexicana de bajo costo que opera en México, Estados Unidos, Centro y Sudamérica, celebró la inauguración de su nueva ruta internacional que conecta a Cancún con la ciudad de McAllen, Texas, fortaleciendo así su operación y oferta de destinos entre ambas ciudades.

La nueva ruta Cancún/CAN—McAllen/MFE opera con dos frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S) los Miércoles y Sábados, proporcionando conectividad directa entre dos puntos estratégicos que fomentan el desarrollo del turismo y los negocios en ambos países. Los ciudadanos de McAllen, ciudad ubicada en el sur de Texas, podrán beneficiarse de los precios competitivos que ofrece Volaris para viajar a Cancún, destino turístico líder en América Latina y uno de los más populares de México.

En el evento celebrado en el Aeropuerto de McAllen, Fernanda Pereda, Gerente de Ventas y Desarrollo de Mercado de estados Unidos de Volaris, realizó el corte del listón en compañía de autoridades e invitados especiales, ante quienes señaló: “Estamos muy agradecidos por el apoyo y facilidades que nos brindaron las autoridades y el aeropuerto de McAllen para hacer posible esta ruta con la que fortalecemos nuestra posición como la principal conexión que une a las comunidades latinas con sus seres queridos en México, además de facilitar el acceso a los viajeros estadounidenses a los destinos turísticos más importantes de México, como lo es Cancún”.

GOL expande capacidad a Miami, Orlando y Buenos Aires

La compañía aérea GOL Linhas Aéreas ha anunciado el aumento y de operaciones internacionales a Buenos Aires (EZE), el nuevo destino a Miami (MIA) y el retorno de operaciones a Orlando (MCO). La alta temporada de invierno 2024 permitirá a GOL Linhas Aéreas tener una marcada presencia en la región de América del Sur al aumentar sus operaciones en Julio 2024 con más de mil vuelos durante el mes. GOL se enfoca en expandir las conexiones entre Argentina, su principal mercado internacional, y otros destinos en la región y Estados Unidos. La aerolínea brasileña operará 1.096 vuelos internacionales, destacando rutas hacia Miami y Orlando, y hacia Buenos Aires, incrementando su capacidad internacional en un 36%, incorporando 247 vuelos adicionales y un incremento de oferta de 46.200 asientos.

GOL se centrará en la expansión de las operaciones internacionales, destacando destinos como Buenos Aires en Argentina, Orlando y Miami en Estados Unidos, y Bogotá en Colombia, además de importantes rutas en el Nordeste, Norte y Sudeste de Brasil. La compañía ofrecerá tanto rutas estacionales como frecuencias adicionales, y la reanudación de rutas regulares clave como Fortaleza/FOR—Orlando/MCO. Durante 07/2024, mantendrá el vuelo que une Buenos Aires/EZE—Fortaleza/FOR y sumará una operación adicional estacional de Buenos Aires/EZE—Recife/REC. Además, incorpora Buenos Aires/EZE—Belo Horizonte/CNF como ruta estacional desde el 06/07 hasta 09/2024, con una frecuencia semanal (1Frq/S) directo a la capital del Estado de Minas Gerais (MG).

A partir del 27 de Junio de 2024, GOL reanudó la ruta Fortaleza/FOR—Orlando/MCO con un a frecuencia semanal (1Frq/S). La aerolínea había operado esta ruta hasta 2020. Desde el 21 de Junio de 2024, la ruta Fortaleza/FOR—Miami/MIA ddesarrollará dos frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S). También, restablecerá Brasilia/BSB—Orlando/MCO cununa frecuencia diaria (1Frq/D) y aumentará las frecuencias de Brasilia/BSB—Miami/MIA de cinco a once frecuencias semanales (11Frq/S) hasta el 9 de Agostode 2024. La ruta Manaos/MAO—Miama/MIA tendrá vuelos directos y estacionales a Miami del 29 de Junio al 10 de Agosto de 2024.

Para potenciar las conexiones internacionales, GOL Linhas Aéreas mantiuena presencia a los destinos argentinos como Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Córdoba y Rosario. Actualmente, opera doce destinos internacionales en Argentina, Colombia, Estados Unidos, Uruguay, República Dominicana, entre otros. Aerolíneas Argentinas abandona ruta a Nueva York

En un comunicado oficial Aerolíneas Argentinas ha informado la baja de la ruta Buenos Aires/EZE—New York/JFK el 10 de Agosto 2024. Según trascendió, el motivo se relaciona con la intención de aumentar la productividad de su flota en los destinos de mayor rentabilidad, en base a una política de evaluación permanente sobre la rentabilidad de rutas frente a un mercado aeronáutico de extrema volatilidad.

Desde la compañía detallaron que esta modificación permitirá aumentar a dos vuelos diarios la oferta a Miami y a Madrid, además de disponer de recursos con el fin de incrementar los vuelos al Caribe. La medida busca reforzar y priorizar la operación a los destinos de mayor beneficio económico para la línea aérea.

Cancela servicio Orlando—Lansing

Avelo Airlines finaliza su servicio a Orlando desde el Aeropuerto Internacional de la Región Capital de Lansing (LAN), Ingham, Michigan. La compañía con sede en Houston, Texas, que se describe a sí misma como una aerolínea de tarifas ultrabajas, confirmó al Lansing State Journal el miércoles que pondrá fin a los vuelos hacia y desde el Aeropuerto Internacional de la Región Capital.

En 2022, Avelo comenzó a ofrecer dos vuelos semanales a Orlando desde Lansing durante los meses de clima más frío, y debido al éxito de la ruta de Orlando, Fort Meyers se agregó en 3Q2023. En ese momento, Nicole Noll-Williams, presidenta y directora ejecutiva del aeropuerto, dijo que Orlando era el destino número 1 de la región de Lansing. El alcalde de Lansing, Andy Schor, calificó la noticia de tremendamente decepcionante. «Tenemos un gran aeropuerto ubicado justo en el centro del estado al que es fácil llegar, fácil de usar y conveniente para muchos. Es lamentable que Avelo no haya podido llegar aquí o en las otras ciudades donde cortaron el servicio. Lansing continúa ofreciendo muchos otros vuelos diarios y tengo fe en que el liderazgo de nuestro aeropuerto hará todo lo posible para buscar aerolíneas que ofrezcan vuelos directos y brinden las mejores opciones para el área de la capital», dijo Andy Schor.

El mes pasado, Apple Vacations dijo que regresará al Aeropuerto Internacional de la Región Capital con vuelos a partir de enero del próximo año a varios lugares tropicales. Apple ha ofrecido vuelos en el aeropuerto desde 2010. Los vuelos que huyen del clima frío comienzan el 25 de Enero y se extenderán hasta el 9 de Abril, según un comunicado del aeropuerto. Avelo Airlines is ending service to Orlando from Lansing Capital Region International Airport (LAN), Ingham, Michigan. The Houston, Texas-based company, which describes itself as an ultra-low-fare carrier, confirmed to the Lansing State Journal on Wednesday that it will end flights to and from Capital Region International Airport.

In 2022, Avelo began offering two weekly flights to Orlando from Lansing during the colder weather months, and due to the success of the Orlando route, Fort Meyers was added in 3Q2023. At the time, Nicole Noll-Williams, the airport’s president and CEO, said Orlando was the Lansing region’s No. 1 destination. Now, according to its updated flight schedule through January 2025, Lansing is not included.

Avelo Airlines is also ending service to other cities, including Redding, California. Five more cities are expected to be canceled: Kalamazoo, Michigan; Dubuque, Iowa; Mosinee, Wisconsin; Broome County, New York; and Brownsville, Texas. Lack of profitability was behind the decision, said Jim Olson, Chief Brand and Communications Officer for Avelo Airlines. “Unfortunately, the LAN-MCO route was not profitable and we do not expect it to be within a reasonable time horizon. Every route that Avelo flies must be profitable or be on a trend line toward that goal. Before committing to a new route, we conduct a thorough analysis of the available and relevant data. In most cases, the routes we introduce are successful and we continue to operate them. However, with those that are not, we must make the difficult decision to exit them”, Jim Olson said.

Lansing Mayor Andy Schor called the news tremendously disappointing. «We have a great airport located right in the center of the state that is easy to get to, easy to use, and convenient for many. It’s unfortunate that Avelo was not able to get here or the other cities where they cut service. Lansing continues to offer many other daily flights and I have faith that our airport leadership will do everything possible to seek out airlines that offer direct flights and provide the best options for the capital area», Andy Schor said.

Last month, Apple Vacations said it would return to Capital Region International Airport with flights starting in January of next year to several tropical locations. Apple has offered flights at the airport since 2010. Flights escaping the cold weather begin Jan. 25 and run through April 9, according to a statement from the airport. Planned routes include nonstop flights from Lansing to Cancun, Mexico; Lansing to Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic; and Lansing to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The airport also has scheduled service from Delta and American Airlines. In March 2024, Breeze Airlines said it would begin offering service to Orlando and Fort Myers, Florida, in October of this year. The relatively new airline, which started about two and a half years ago and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, plans to offer Lansing-based flights to both Orlando and Fort Myers, Florida.

Aerolíneas Argentinas estrena vuelos entre Córdoba y Río de Janeiro

Aerolíneas Argentinas ha inaugurado el Lunes 1 de Julio de 2024 los vuelos entre las ciudades de Córdoba, Argentina y Río de Janeiro, Brasil. La ruta Córdoba/COR—Rio Janeiro/GIG contará con una frecuencia de dos vuelos semanales (2Frq/S) los Lunes y Viernes.

El anuncio oficial se había realizado en Mayo 2024 y hoy, en el primer día de julio, comenzaron las operaciones de los vuelos Córdoba—Río de Janeiro. La compañía aérea detalló que la ruta entre Córdoba y la ciudad brasileña prestará servicios los Lunes y los Viernes. Para los vuelos de ida, el horario de partida será a las 14:00 arribando a las 17:00 a la ciudad carioca brasileña. El retorno el vuelo despegará a las 11:15 y aterrizará a las 14:45 en Córdoba.

Los nuevos vuelos permitirán conexiones rápidas y eficientes vía Córdoba con destinos como Salta, Mendoza, Tucumán, Jujuy y Posadas. Además, Aerolíneas Argentinas estrenará a partir del 13 de Septiembre de 2024 la otra ruta, desde Córdoba a Punta Cana. En este caso, los vuelos están previstos para los días viernes y sábados. Actualmente, son veinte las rutas internacionales que Aerolíneas Argentinas ofrece desde Córdoba. En todos los casos, los vuelos operan desde el Aeropuerto Córdoba/Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella.

Flybondi inicia operaciones hacia San Juan

El Gobierno de la Provincia de San Juan anuncia que Flybondi empieza a operar hacia la provincia de la Región de Cuyo. Tras un anuncio anterior, este Viernes 28/06 el Gobierno provincial anunciará el arribo de Flybondi a la Ciudad de San Juan. La low cost cubrirá la ruta Buenos Aires/AEP—San Juan/AUQ a partir del 2 de Septiembre 2024 con cuatro frecuencias semanales (4Frq/S) los Domingos, Lunes, Miércoles y Viernes. Aunque el anuncio se hará este mediodía en Casa de Gobierno de San Juan, trascendió que habrá vuelos cuatro frecuencias semanales pero no se conocieron los horarios. En San Juan, Flybondi sumará sus aviones Boeing 737-800 que saldrán desde Aeroparque con 186 pasajeros por vuelo.

El arribo de la aerolínea de presupuesto permitirá acceder a vuelos más económicos y hacer frente a Aerolíneas Argentinas que es la única que hasta ahora trabaja en la provincia. Desde la provincia esperan que esto baje los altísimos costos que actualmente pagan los sanjuaninos para poder volar a Buenos Aires.

En la actualidad únicamente opera en el Aeropuerto Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, Aerolíneas Argentinas que tiene dos vuelos por día de San Juan a Buenos Aires, lo que incrementó muchísimo el precio de los pasajes. En Julio 2024, sin embargo, la aerolínea de bandera retomaría otro vuelo más.
