Copa Airlines inaugurará a partir del 26 de Junio de 2024, conectando Panamá con Tulum, ubicada en el estado mexicano de Quintana Roo, permitirá acceder a un nuevo destino turístico ubicado al sur de Quintana Roo entre la Riviera Maya y Bacalar, a orillas del Mar Caribe. Desde el Hub de las Américas en Panamá se podrá acceder al nuevo Aeropuerto Tulum (TQO), oficialmente Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Carrillo Puerto, ubicado a 20 kilómetros al suroeste de Tulum. El aeropuerto fue inaugurado el 1 de Diciembre de 2023. La aerolínea panameña Copa Airlines inaugurará una ruta que será la sexta en México.

El fabricante brasileño de aviones Embraer SA, posicionándose como el tercer diseñador de la aviación a nivel global, planea invertir este año 2024 R$ 2.000 millones de Reales/US$ 390 millones de Dólares en una nueva planta, según anunció la semana pasada ante el Presidentede Brasil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. La empresa contrató el año pasado a 1.500 nuevos trabajadores para recuperar la plantilla de 19.000 que tenía antes de la pandemia.
“Estoy en una empresa que siempre ha sido motivo de orgullo para este país. Hay que soñar en grande. Si Ozíres [Silva, fundador de Embraer] no hubiera pensado en grande, no tendríamos Embraer. Las grandes cosas son el resultado de un gran coraje, no de la cobardía. Quiero que sepan que éste es un momento histórico para mí», expresó Lula da Silva.
«Estamos invirtiendo cerca de R$ 2.000 millones de Reales este año y generando más de 900 puestos de trabajo directos en nuestras fábricas de Brasil”, declaró el Presidente de Embraer, Francisco Gomes Neto, durante una ceremonia celebrada en las instalaciones de la empresa en São José dos Campos, en el Estado de São Paulo, con motivo de la entrega de un avión de pasajeros E195-E2 a Azul Linhas Aéreas para servicios regionales. La aerolínea ha hecho pedidos de 13 nuevos aviones Embraer este año 2024, lo que supone una inversión de unos R$ 3.000 millones de Reales/US$ 586 millones de Dólares. El mandatario presidencial instó a otras compañías aéreas brasileñas a adquirir aviones Embraer para renovar sus flotas.
“En Estados Unidos, el 50% es con aviones Boeing. En Francia, del 100% de la aviación, el 41% es con aviones Airbus. Y, en Brasil, del 100% de la aviación brasileña, sólo el 12% son aviones Embraer”, argumentó Silvio Costa Filho, Ministro de Puertos y Aeropuertos. También subrayó que en poco más de un año, Brasil ha aumentado el número de pasajeros transportados en un 15% y prevé 140 millones de pasajeros transportados cada año en un futuro próximo.
“Cuando se fundó Azul en 2008, todas las compañías de Brasil transportaban 50 millones de pasajeros. Sólo este año, Azul transportará 35 millones”, subrayó el CEO de Azul, John Rodgerson.
Creada por el Estado brasileño en 1969, Embraer ha fabricado y vendido más de 8.000 aviones que hoy transportan unos 145 millones de pasajeros al año en todo el mundo. Fue privatizada en 1994, pero el Estado sigue teniendo la última palabra en las decisiones estratégicas de la empresa. Además de fabricar aviones comerciales y privados, la empresa fabrica aviones militares, como el carguero KC-390 y el Super Tucano, así como aviones agrícolas.

Turkish Airlines ha anunciado el 29 de Abril de 2024 un importante acuerdo con el fabricante europeo Airbus Group por 230 aeronaves. Turkish Airlines, Airbus y Rolls-Royce se reunieron en la sede central de la aerolínea de bandera de Turquía en Estambul para celebrar el histórico pedido por ciento cincuenta A321neo (150) y ochenta aviones de la Familia A350 (80) realizado el pasado Diciembre 2023.
En el acto de ceremonia estuvieron presentes el Ministro de Comercio turco, Sr. Prof. Ömer Bolat, el Ministro de Industria y Tecnología, Sr. Mehmet Fatih Kacır, el Ministro de Transporte e Infraestructuras, Sr. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, y el Viceministro de Defensa Nacional, Sr. Bilal Durdalı, representantes de las principales empresas aeroespaciales turcas, así como el Cónsul General británico, y subsecretarios de Francia y España.
La celebración también marcó la presentación del Programa estratégico reforzado de Turquía (STEP), creado por Airbus, Turkish Airlines y empresas aeroespaciales de Turquía para seguir desarrollando la industria aeroespacial del país en línea con el plan de crecimiento estratégico a largo plazo de Turkish Airlines, buscando así generar un valor económico exponencial en los próximos 15 años.
El reciente pedido de aviones sitúa a Turkish Airlines como el mayor operador mundial del motor Rolls-Royce Trent XWB. En línea con la asociación con Rolls-Royce, el fabricante está estudiando la puesta en marcha de una serie de iniciativas industriales en Turquía, incluido el posible establecimiento de una capacidad competitiva de Mantenimiento, Reparación y Revisión (MRO) y una mayor contratación de la cadena de suministro.

Orders 230 aircraft with Roll Royce engines
Turkish Airlines announced on April 29, 2024, an important agreement with the European manufacturer Airbus Group for 230 aircraft. The celebration also marked the presentation of Türkiye’s Strategic Enhanced Program (STEP), created by Airbus, Turkish Airlines, and Turkish aerospace companies to further develop the country’s aerospace industry in line with Turkish Airlines’ long-term strategic growth plan, thus seeking to generate exponential economic value in the next 15 years.
The recent aircraft order places Turkish Airlines as the world’s largest operator of the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine. In line with the partnership with Rolls-Royce, the manufacturer is exploring the launch of a number of industrial initiatives in Türkiye, including the possible establishment of a competitive Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) capability and increased contracting of the supply chain.
