Nueva aerolínea regional israelí

Air Haifa es la nueva aerolínea a punto de despegar en Israel. La compañía aérea se encuentra finalizando los procesos de certificación y aprobación como nueva startup regional. La nerca aerolínea ha incorporaqdo recientemente el primer avión turboprop ATR 72-600, uan aeronave con tecnología avanzada para desarrollar rutas regionales.

El nuevo avión ATR 72-600 del constructor froanco-italiano ATR Aircraft (Avión Transport Régional) emplea motores estadounidense Pratt & Whitney. Es un avión regional con capaciadad pàra 70-80 pasajeros idóneo para aeropuertos como el de Haifa que posee pista corta de sólo 1.326 metros de longitud, lo que permite despegar y aterrizar únicamente a aviones pequeños y características STOL. A modo de comparación, el aeropuerto Ben-Gurion tiene tres pistas: la principal y más grande es la 08/26, de 4.062 metros de longitud. La pista 12/30 mide 3.112 metros y la pequeña 03/21 1.780 metros. Un Boeing 767-300, por ejemplo, «Ala de Sión», en el que vuela el primer ministro, requiere una pista de 2.410 metros.

El nuevo avión es desarrollado por ATR Aircraft, propiedad conjunta de la empresa francesa Airbus Group y la italiana Leonardo SpA. Está diseñado específicamente para vuelos cortos y medios y es conocido como uno de los aviones más eficientes en consumo de combustible de su categoría. El avión tiene una capacidad máxima de 72 plazas y es muy popular entre las aerolíneas civiles de todo el mundo. Su autonomía máxima de vuelo es de 1.665 kilómetros, lo que le permite llegar a varios destinos de la región. El avión alcanza una altitud máxima de 25.000 pies, aproximadamente 7.620 metros. La tripulación incluye dos pilotos. La cabina de pasajeros tiene un espacio para las piernas de 76 cm, similar al de otros aviones de su tamaño. El avión no tiene sistema de entretenimiento individual ni pantallas de TV, pero para distancias de vuelo cortas, esto es innecesario. Los motores turboprop del avión recuerdan a los de los aviones antiguos, lo que causó gracia entre los internautas que vieron las primeras fotos del avión el fin de semana. Se trata de motores turbohélice Pratt & Whitney PW127XT. Las hélices son más eficientes e idóneas que los motores a reacción normales en vuelos cortos y medios, proporcionando más empuje a velocidades más bajas, lo que las hace más adecuadas para distancias cortas, consumiendo menos combustible que los motores a reacción normales y, por tanto, reducen sus costes de explotación. Las hélices no significan que el avión sea inferior: aunque los motores a reacción normales, como los de los aviones Boeing o Airbus, son más rápidos en vuelos largos, los aviones de hélice tienen una eficiencia de combustible atractiva, son más baratos y están equipados con tecnologías de reducción del ruido, a diferencia de las hélices del pasado.

Air Haifa is the new airline about to take off in Israel. The airline is currently finalizing the certification and approval processes as a new regional startup. The new airline has recently incorporated the first ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft, an aircraft with advanced technology to develop regional routes.

The new ATR 72-600 aircraft from the French-Italian manufacturer ATR Aircraft (Avion Transport Régional) uses American Pratt & Whitney engines. Propellers do not mean that the plane is inferior: although regular jet engines, such as those on Boeing or Airbus planes, are faster on long flights, propeller planes have attractive fuel efficiency, are cheaper and are equipped with noise-reducing technologies, unlike the propellers of the past.
