American Airlines cancela vuelos por huracán Debby

American Airlines atribuyó las complicaciones de cancelaciones aéreas masivas a razones climáticas y técnicas. Alrededor de un millar de argentinos se encontraban hoy varados en Miami y Nueva York por la cancelación de varios vuelos de American Airlines en los Estados Unidos, particularmente los tres servicios diarios que aterrizan en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Ezeiza.

Los pasajeros nacionales debían regresar al país entre el Viernes 02/08 y el Lunes 05/08, pero sucesivamente algunos de esos vuelos sufrieron cancelaciones y reprogramaciones. La compañía norteamericana ha comunicado que las cancelaciones se debieron a fallas técnicas y a cuestiones meteorológicas: “Acá tenemos dos situaciones, los vuelos de Miami y los vuelos de Nueva York. El vuelo AA953, de Nueva York a Buenos Aires, fue cancelado por mal tiempo. Hay huracán e impidió la operatoria normal. Consecuentemente el vuelo AA954, de Buenos Aires a Nueva York también fue cancelado”. En cuanto a los vuelos de Miami, explicaron que el vuelo AA907, de Miami a Buenos Aires del pasado Viernes 02/08 sufrió un desperfecto técnico y ahí comenzó un retraso de una serie de vuelos que, además, se complicó también por el clima.

Las fuentes señalaron que “American Airlines está haciendo todo lo posible por el tema de las reprogramaciones y con brindarle hospedaje y asistencia a los pasajeros que lo necesiten».

Alrededor de un millar de argentinos se encuentran afectados por los inconvenientes, muchos de los cuales ya se están trasladando a la Argentina a través de otras compañías.

Las cancelaciones se debieron a una serie de circunstancias convergentes, que llevaron al colapso a los vuelos. Algunos vuelos despegaron, pero debieron retornar al aeropuerto de origen debido a fallas técnicas y otros fueron cancelados debido a cuestiones gremiales. Ante este panorama, algunos se hospedaron en hoteles, otros siguen esperando dentro del aeropuerto y hay quienes prefirieron comprar pasaje para regresar con Aerolíneas Argentinas, Copa Airlines o Avianca Airlines, aunque para este último caso se enfrentan al problema de la devolución del equipaje.

American Airlines attributed the complications of massive flight cancellations to weather and technical reasons. Around a thousand Argentines were stranded today in Miami and New York due to the cancellation of several American Airlines flights in the United States, particularly the three daily services that land at Ezeiza International Airport.

National passengers were due to return to the country between Friday 02/08 and Monday 05/08, but successively some of those flights suffered cancellations and rescheduling. The North American company has communicated that the cancellations were due to technical failures and weather issues: “Here we have two situations, the Miami flights and the New York flights. Consequently, flight AA954, from Buenos Aires to New York, was also cancelled”. Regarding the Miami flights, they explained that flight AA907, from Miami to Buenos Aires last Friday 02/08, suffered a technical failure, and that led to a delay in a series of flights that was also complicated by the weather.

The sources indicated that “American Airlines is doing everything possible to deal with the rescheduling and to provide accommodation and assistance to passengers who need it”.

Around a thousand Argentines are affected by the inconveniences, many of whom are already moving to Argentina through other companies.

The cancellations were due to a series of converging circumstances, which led to the collapse of flights. Some flights took off, but had to return to the airport of origin due to technical failures and others were cancelled due to union issues. Given this situation, some stayed in hotels, others are still waiting inside the airport and there are those who preferred to buy a ticket to return with Aerolíneas Argentinas, Copa Airlines or Avianca Airlines, although in the latter case they face the problem of returning luggage.
