EL AL Israel Airlines solicita 31 aviones Boeing 737 MAX

The Boeing Company y EL AL Israel Airlines han confirmado el 15/08 que la aerolínea de bandera israelí ha finalizado un acuerdo para adquirir hasta treinta y uno (31) aviones Boeing 737 MAX, lo que respalda los planes de la aerolínea de renovar su flota de aviones 737 Next Generation. EL AL elige el 737 MAX para modernizar y hacer crecer su flota de pasillo único. El pedido del 737 MAX es la mayor compra de aviones de EL AL en sus 76 años de historia.

Con la familia 737 MAX, EL AL Airlines logrará la mejor economía por asiento de su clase, un mejor desempeño ambiental y una mayor comodidad para los pasajeros. En particular, el 737 MAX reducirá el uso de combustible y las emisiones en un 20% en comparación con los aviones a los que sustituye y tendrá una huella acústica un 50% menor.

El pedido del 737 MAX de EL AL sigue a su compra a principios de año 2024 de tres aviones Boeing 787-9 adicionales con opciones para seis más a medida que la aerolínea expande aún más su flota de 787 Dreamliner. La aerolínea recibirá un nuevo 787-9 este año y planea recibir otros dos nuevos 787-9 en arrendamiento en los próximos años.

The Boeing Company and EL AL Israel Airlines have confirmed on 08/15 that the Israeli flag carrier has finalized an agreement to acquire up to thirty-one (31) Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, supporting the airline’s plans to renew its fleet of 737 Next Generation aircraft. EL AL selects the 737 MAX to modernize and grow its single-aisle fleet. The 737 MAX order is EL AL’s largest aircraft purchase in its 76-year history.

“This is an important milestone for EL AL, which will enable us to offer our customers the most advanced service and technological expertise in the industry. The implementation of the long-term procurement plan, which began with the purchase of additional 787 Dreamliners earlier this year and culminates in the current agreement, once again demonstrates our commitment to the Israeli public and the state. EL AL has a central role in ensuring open skies for Israel. The implementation of our strategic plan, which aims to expand the fleet, increase the value proposition for customers, and increase capacity and seats, will ensure a strong and growing company for many years to come”, said Dina Ben-Tal Ganancia, CEO of El Al Israel Airlines.

With the 737 MAX family, EL AL Airlines will achieve best-in-class seat economy, improved environmental performance and enhanced passenger comfort. In particular, the 737 MAX will reduce fuel use and emissions by 20% compared to the aircraft it replaces and will have a 50% lower noise footprint.

EL AL’s 737 MAX order follows its purchase in early 2024 of three additional Boeing 787-9 airplanes with options for six more as the airline further expands its 787 Dreamliner fleet. The airline will take delivery of one new 787-9 this year and plans to take delivery of two more new 787-9s on lease in the coming years.
