Samoa Airways reintroducirá su ruta Savai’i

Samoa Airways ha anunciado que se encuentra planeando reintroducir su ruta entre la Isla Savai’i y la Isla Upolu conectando los destinos Maota y Fagali’i, que estuvo suspendida durante años. Esta medida tiene como objetivo facilitar los viajes de negocios y asuntos urgentes, ofreciendo una alternativa a los abarrotados barcos que diariamente sirven a las dos islas.

Esta iniciativa es parte del compromiso de Samoa Airways de servir a Samoa y responde a la creciente demanda de turistas y locales que desean viajar a Savaii y evitar el viaje en ferry de una hora. La aerolínea aún no ha finalizado sus planes y su calendario para retomar sus vuelos, proyecta comenzar con tres vuelos por semana (3Frq/S) para minimizar las interrupciones en su apretada agenda de servicios a Samoa y Samoa Americana.

Samoa Airways también se está asegurando de que el Aeropuerto de Maota esté completamente preparado para la reapertura de la ruta tras la aprobación del Gobierno.

Los operadores turísticos de Savai’i esperan con entusiasmo la reapertura de los servicios aéreos para dar cabida a la afluencia de turistas que desean visitar Savai’i. “Estamos entusiasmados ante la perspectiva de que se vuelva a planificar un viaje más rápido hacia y desde Savaii. Si se aprueba, esperamos que todos los sectores involucrados puedan trabajar juntos para garantizar su longevidad y complementar los servicios de ferry existentes. Con un tiempo de viaje de solo 5 a 10 minutos, los vuelos serán populares entre los turistas y aquellos que viajan por negocios hacia y desde Upolu”, dijo Elisabeth Siaosi, Vicepresidenta de la Asociación de Turismo de Savai’i Samoa.

Samoa Airways has announced that it is planning to reintroduce its Savai’i to Upolu route connecting Maota and Fagali’i, which has been suspended for years. This move is intended to facilitate business and urgent travel by offering an alternative to the overcrowded boats that serve the two islands on a daily basis.

This initiative is part of Samoa Airways’ commitment to serving Samoa and responds to the growing demand from tourists and locals who wish to travel to Savaii and avoid the hour-long ferry ride. The airline has not yet finalised its plans and schedule for resuming its flights, planning to start with three flights per week (3Frq/S) to minimise disruption to its busy schedule of services to Samoa and American Samoa.

Samoa Airways is also ensuring that Maota Airport is fully prepared for the reopening of the route following the Government’s approval.

Savai’i’s tourism operators are eagerly awaiting the reopening of air services to accommodate the influx of tourists wishing to visit Savai’i. “We are excited at the prospect of faster travel to and from Savaii being planned again. If approved, we hope that all sectors involved can work together to ensure its longevity and complement the existing ferry services. With a journey time of just 5 to 10 minutes, the flights will be popular with tourists and those travelling on business to and from Upolu”, said Elisabeth Siaosi, Vice President of the Savai’i Samoa Tourism Association.
