United Airlines incorpora nuevo servicio directo al Caribe

United Airlines planea más servicios al Caribe desde Newark Liberty International (EWR). La aerolínea volará desde Newark al Aeropuerto Douglas-Charles (DOM) en Dominica a partir del 15 de Febrero de 2025, marcando la primera vez que ofrece servicio a la Isla Dominica localiada en el Caribe. La compañía estadounidense volará el servicio en un Boeing 737-700 una vez a la semana (1Frq/S) los Sábados, saliendo a las 09:10 a.m. desde Newark y regresando a las 03:45 p.m.

El Ministro de Turismo de Dominica, que habló con los medios locales esta semana, el servicio es un gran paso adelante para la isla, que ha buscado aumentar agresivamente su turismo. Una parte importante de ese plan es un nuevo aeropuerto internacional, el primer aeropuerto internacional dedicado en la isla, actualmente en construcción en Wesley, una parte de la parroquia de San Andrés en el Noreste de la isla. Se espera que el aeropuerto esté terminado en 2026.

United Airlines adds new non-stop service to the Caribbean

United Airlines plans more service to the Caribbean from Newark Liberty International (EWR). The airline will fly from Newark to Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) in Dominica beginning February 15, 2025, marking the first time it offers service to the Caribbean island of Dominica. The American company will fly the service on a Boeing 737-700 once a week (1Frq/S) on Saturdays, departing at 09:10 a.m. from Newark and returning at 03:45 p.m.

Dominica’s Minister of Tourism, who spoke to local media this week, said the service is a big step forward for the island, which has sought to aggressively increase its tourism. A major part of that plan is a new international airport, the first dedicated international airport on the island, currently under construction in Wesley, a part of the parish of St. Andrew in the northeast of the island. The airport is expected to be completed in 2026.
