Aerolíneas Argentinas comenzará vuelos regionales desde Aeroparque
Aerolíneas Argentinas ha comunicado el inicio de operaciones regionales desde el Aeropuerto Buenos Aires/Jorge Newbery (AEP) a partir de Octubre 2024, diagramando servicios entre Santiago de Chile (SCL), Aeroparque (AEP) y Río de Janeiro (GIG) y São Paulo (GRU). La Resolución Nº240/2024 de la Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC), ampliará las operaciones desde y hacia la estación aérea metropolitana, informaron fuentes de la compañía. Además, para la próxima temporada de verano, la aerolínea evalúa ofrecer vuelos entre la capital chilena y Florianópolis, también con escala en Aeroparque u otras combinaciones habilitadas por esta nueva norma.
Los vuelos Santiago de Chile/SCL—Buenos Aires/Jorge Newbery/AEP—Río de Janeiro/GIG y Santiago de Chile/SCL—Buenos Aires/Jorge Newbery/AEP—São Paulo/GRU contarán con una frecuencia diaria (1Frq/D). En ambos casos, los pasajeros que aborden esos vuelos en Chile permanecerán en la aeronave en la escala de Aeroparque, sin necesidad de cambio de avión y sin trámites en migraciones. Lo mismo ocurrirá en el tramo de regreso, en el que se ofrecerá un producto atractivo para el mercado brasilero con destino final a la ciudad de Santiago de Chile.
Estos vuelos se enmarcan en el plan de mejora de la eficiencia y productividad de Aerolíneas Argentinas, cuyo principal objetivo es mejorar los resultados económicos de la compañía. Parte de estas rutas se operarán con los nuevos Boeing 737 MAX que la compañía adquirió durante el último año.
Recientemente, Aerolíneas Argentinas amplió sus operaciones a Punta Cana con más frecuencias desde Buenos Aires y nuevos vuelos directos desde Córdoba, Rosario y Tucumán. A partir de Julio 2024 comenzó a operar la ruta entre Córdoba/COR—Río de Janeiro/GIG.

United Airlines incorpora nuevo servicio directo al Caribe
United Airlines planea más servicios al Caribe desde Newark Liberty International (EWR). La aerolínea volará desde Newark al Aeropuerto Douglas-Charles (DOM) en Dominica a partir del 15 de Febrero de 2025, marcando la primera vez que ofrece servicio a la Isla Dominica localiada en el Caribe. La compañía estadounidense volará el servicio en un Boeing 737-700 una vez a la semana (1Frq/S) los Sábados, saliendo a las 09:10 a.m. desde Newark y regresando a las 03:45 p.m.
El Ministro de Turismo de Dominica, que habló con los medios locales esta semana, el servicio es un gran paso adelante para la isla, que ha buscado aumentar agresivamente su turismo. United adds Dominica
United Airlines adds new non-stop service to the Caribbean
United Airlines plans more service to the Caribbean from Newark Liberty International (EWR). El Aeropuerto Internacional Rosario (ROS) ha informado que a partir del 2 de Enero de 2025 desarrollará vuelos directos estacionales a Mar del Plata por medio de Aerolíneas Argentinas con dos frecuencias semanales (2Frq/S) los días Jueves y Sábados. La línea aérea habilitó la venta de pasajes del trayecto Mar del Plata/MDQ—Rosario/ROS como parte de los nuevos incentivos para la apertura de la temporada de verano 2025. Los vuelos realizan la ruta Mar del Plata/MDQ—Rosario/ROS—Mar del Plata/MDQ, arribando a Rosario, también denominado AIR, los días Jueves a las 12:55 y partiendo hacia la Ciudad de Mar del Plata a las 13:25. Los vuelos de los días Sábados aterrizarán en Rosario a las 12:45. y despegarán a las 13:15 horas. JetSMART suprime ruta Buenos Aires—Montevideo
La aerolínea chilena de bajo coste JetSMART Airlines Chile anunció el 23/09 que suprimirá la ruta Buenos Aires/AEP—Montevideo/MVD con dos frecuencias diarias entre los aeropuertos Buenos Aires/Jorge Newbery y Montevideo/Carrasco. La aerolínea cancelará la ruta a partir del 1 de Octubre de 2024, debido al bajo resultado obtenido. El servicio fue inaugurado cuatro meses atrás.
La decisión de JetSMART ha sido una desagradable sorpresa, en declaraciones del Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores uruguayo, Omar Paganini. Al no salir las cosas como estaban previstas, JetSMART Airlines solicitó al Gobierno uruguayo una subvención de US$ 100.000 Dólares, mientras que Uruguay no ha concedido después de que las autoridades turísticas de Montevideo consideraran excesiva la cantidad.

JetSMART también citó la elevada presión fiscal y la competencia con otros medios de transporte como factores de la inviabilidad de la ruta.
Carlos Enciso afirmó que la conexión Buenos Aires—Montevideo había mostrado un desempeño acorde con las expectativas, lo que indicaba que había perspectivas optimistas para su futuro. El diplomático expresó asimismo su profunda preocupación, buscando abrir un canal de comunicación para analizar posibles alternativas que puedan revertir la situación. Sin embargo, Estuardo Ortíz se mostró escéptico dada la reticencia del Gobierno uruguayo. El ejecutivo también insistió en que la ayuda de los gobiernos a las aerolíneas era una práctica común en otros lugares porque las rutas dependían totalmente de factores estacionales y de la demanda específica, lo que puede llevar a la suspensión temporal o a la cancelación permanente de ciertos servicios considerados insostenibles.
Cuando JetSMART Airlines anunció la nueva ruta en Marzo 2024 durante una ceremonia en la residencia de Carlos Enciso, también había argumentado que el puente aéreo a Montevideo serviría como alimentador del servicio entre Aeroparque y Asunción del Paraguay. En ese entonces, se dijo que el Embajador uruguayo en Argentina ha sido un instrumento fundamental en la negociación desde 2021 para habilitar el servicio aéreo entre Buenos Aires y Montevideo.

British Airways will operate more weekly flights from North America to London in summer 2025, enabling record frequencies on routes in North America. The carrier will operate a record number, offering more than four hundred direct flights per week during its busiest weeks.
The airline operates non-stop flights from London to twenty-six cities in the United States offering more flights across the Atlantic than any other European airline, with premium First Class cabin service across the Atlantic. Its expanded summer schedule includes the following weekly additions from London-Heathrow (LHR) which are available to book on ba.com: Miami (MIA), Florida seven additional flights per week, bringing the total to 14 flights per week (14Frq/S) and becoming a twice-daily service all year round. The airline will also open a new lounge in Miami in 2025, featuring its new lounge design concept. The airline has not yet finalised its plans and schedule for resuming its flights, planning to start with three flights per week (3Frq/S) to minimise disruption to its busy schedule of services to Samoa and American Samoa.
Samoa Airways is also ensuring that Maota Airport is fully prepared for the reopening of the route following the Government’s approval.
Savai’i’s tourism operators are eagerly awaiting the reopening of air services to accommodate the influx of tourists wishing to visit Savai’i. “We are excited at the prospect of faster travel to and from Savaii being planned again. If approved, we hope that all sectors involved can work together to ensure its longevity and complement the existing ferry services. With a journey time of just 5 to 10 minutes, the flights will be popular with tourists and those travelling on business to and from Upolu”, said Elisabeth Siaosi, Vice President of the Savai’i Samoa Tourism Association.
