El Gobierno de la Provincia de la La Rioja mostró un fuerte interés en que más compañías aéreas puedan iniciar rutas, entre ellas se encuentra JetSmart Airlines Argentina. La ultra bajo costo mantuvo reuniones con diversos entes gubernamentales durante varios meses, con el fin de establecer nuevos enlaces en el 2022, ante la inminente llegada de nuevas aeronaves.
Mientras tanto, el Organismo Regulador del Sistema Nacional de Aeropuertos (ORSNA), en conjunto con Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 (AA2000), continúan con la ampliación de la nueva terminal de pasajeros en el Aeropuerto de La Rioja, lo que permitirá ampliar las operaciones de las aeronaves en la plataforma de la aeroestación. Entre otras mejoras se encuentra el mejoramiento de la playa de estacionamiento vehicular.
Aunque la pandemia redujo significativamente los vuelos de la provincia cuyana a cuatro vuelos semanales de Aerolíneas Argentinas con aeronaves Embraer E190, sirviendo Buenos Aires—La Rioja—Catamarca, se espera que para Enero 2022, La Rioja disponga de seis vuelos semanales de manera directas con la Capital Federal. Anteriormente, la aeroestación poseía doce frecuencias semanales movilizando 61.547 pasajeros, siendo su pico en 2017 al movilizar 72.852 viajeros.

Las Malvinas están sin comunicación aérea con Sudamérica desde Marzo de 2020 cuando Latam Airlines suspendió sus rutas a Mount Pleasant/Puerto Argentino. Había vuelos de Santiago de Chile vía Punta Arenas. Con la pandemia, familias chilenas o mixtas quedaron sin poder volar. La única opción es un vuelo vía Reino Unido. El texto del comunicado de prensa que desde las islas publicaron este Viernes 10/12 dice lo siguiente: «El Gobierno de las Islas Malvinas (Falkland Islands Government/FIG) puede confirmar que ha mantenido conversaciones con el Gobierno del Reino Unido sobre la posibilidad de realizar un vuelo chárter para que los miembros sudamericanos de nuestra comunidad visiten a familiares y amigos durante la temporada festiva. Esto también les dará a las personas la oportunidad de renovar documentos vencidos que sabemos que ha sido una gran preocupación».
Como tal vuelo requeriría el permiso del Gobierno de Argentina para volar sobre su espacio aéreo, y aunque se trata de un asunto delegado reconocido, FIG ha pedido al Gobierno del Reino Unido que negocie esta solicitud bilateral en representación de los isleños. La FIG tiene la esperanza de que esta solicitud sea concedida dado que, debido al Covid-19, hay muchas personas en las Islas Malvinas que no han podido ver a su familia desde antes de que comenzara la pandemia. Como Diciembre es tradicionalmente una época de buena voluntad, recibir los permisos necesarios para este vuelo significaría mucho para muchas personas, tanto en las Islas Malvinas como en América del Sur.

Los dos vuelos semanales partirán desde Buenos Aires/AEP con escala en Córdoba/COR y arribando a San Juan/UAQ. La vuelta, que está prevista entre las 10 y las 11 de la mañana, será también con destino a la provincia mediterránea y punto final en Buenos Aires. Actualmente, desde el Aeropuerto San Juan/Domingo Faustino Sarmiento posee trtece frecuencias semanales hacia Buenos Aires con dos vuelos diarios, excepto el Domingo con una frecuencia diaria. Además, desde el Gobierno provincial se viene trabajando con una agenda cargada de eventos. Un ejemplo fue el partido de Argentina con Brasil, en noviembre, para el que hizo falta contratar vuelos privados porque los de Aerolíneas Argentinas resultaron insuficientes. Y en carpeta hay otros acontecimientos con características internacionales, como la Vuelta Ciclística a San Juan, que tendrá lugar desde el 30 de Enero al 6 de Febrero del 2022, con la participación de varios de los principales equipos del mundo. Para Marzo 2022 está previsto el Congreso Internacional del Tomate, que congregará en la provincia a invitados de todo el planeta.
San Juan, retoman obras
Con un presupuesto de AR$ 1.951 millones de Pesos el Organismo Regulador del Sistema Nacional de Aeropuertos (ORSNA) y Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, realizaron el llamado a licitación para la continuación de la obra de la terminal de pasajeros del Aeropuerto Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. La intención es adjudicar los trabajos en Febrero de 2022, para iniciarlos al mes siguiente.
Será la cuarta vez que se retomarán las obras, que tienen un avance del 18%. Así, la nueva licitación es por el 82% de los trabajos restantes. El plazo de ejecución proyectado es de 24 meses. La construcción de una nueva terminal de pasajeros permitirá que la provincia eleve su categoría con un nuevo edificio de nivel internacional, equipado con la mejor tecnología para usuarios y pasajeros. El aeropuerto pasará de una terminal existente con 1.706 m2 a una nueva con una superficie cubierta total de 5.000 m2, distribuidos en dos niveles. Incluso contará con mangas para el ascenso y descenso directamente desde las aeronaves.
A330 cabotaje
La introducción del Airbus A330 en rutas de cabotaje por parte de Aerolíneas Argentinas fue, principalmente, debido a un aumento en la demanda del turismo interno. En la actualidad, además de Bariloche, El Calafate, Iguazú y Ushuaia cuentan con servicios de estos aviones.
Buenos Aires—Bariloche
De acuerdo al sistema de reserva de Aerolíneas Argentinas, a partir del 6 de Diciembre de 2021 aumentará sus vuelos entre Buenos Aires/EZE—Bariloche/BRC en aeronaves Airbus A330-200. La empresa argentina tendrá catorce operaciones semanales con dichas aeronaves. Este cronograma estaría durante Diciembre 2021. El Senador Nacional fueguino de Juntos por el Cambio (JXC), Pablo Daniel Blanco, criticó duramente la política tarifaria de la línea de bandera y acusó a sus autoridades de llevar adelante una “política deliberada de vaciamiento que no considera en absoluto ni las necesidades de conectividad del país ni las de los usuarios. Lo de Aerolíneas Argentinas ya es incalificable. Los fueguinos tenemos que padecer a este verdadero monopolio de La Cámpora que tiene a la mitad de su flota en tierra, no aumenta las frecuencias de sus vuelos y, encima, impone tarifas exorbitantes. No puede ser que un pasaje de los baratos ida y vuelta a Buenos Aires desde Ushuaia cueste AR$ 60 mil Pesos como mínimo si el viajero tiene la suerte de conseguir lugar. De acá a fin de año está casi todo tomado con excepción de algunos pocos asientos business y los fueguinos necesitan viajar no sólo por razones turísticas sino también familiares, de estudio o por enfermedad. Hace meses envié notas al titular de la empresa y al Ministro de Transporte que jamás fueron respondidas. La Cámpora es así: se adueñan de bienes y empresas públicas, las vacían o echan a perder de manera deliberada. Esta política tarifaria, que no dudo en calificar de abusiva y extorsiva, nada tiene que ver con el federalismo que falsamente pregona el gobierno y que realmente necesita el país. La Provincia del Tierra del Fuego por su condición insular es aero-dependiente y esto agrava más la situación de los fueguinos que necesitan pronta atención y respuesta. Es hora de que la autoridad de aplicación de la Ley de Defensa de la Competencia intervenga de una buena vez frente a la obvia conducta anticompetitiva por abuso de posición dominante de Aerolíneas Argentinas”, fustigó el Senador fueguino.

The first Vietnam Airlines route in the United States is officially underway. Earlier this week, the airline launched its maiden flight from Ho Chi Minh City to San Francisco International Airport. Already notable for being a rare nonstop route, the flight was historic in other ways as well: It was the first regularly scheduled flight operated between the United States and Vietnam. The launch of the route marks «a new milestone for Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam aviation», said the airline’s CEO, Le Hong Ha, in a statement on Monday 11/29. The airline will operate two flights per week on the route with a wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. On board, the aircraft will be equipped with 28 business class seats, 35 Premium Economy seats and 211 Regular Economy seats. Although there is no stopover, the route is still quite long: on the eastbound leg, flight times are nearly fourteen hours, while westbound flights will take nearly seventeen hours. In honor of its new destination in California, the airline also says it will serve Napa Valley wine on board paired with cheeses and other dishes from the United States.
Vietnam Airlines is also a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance, which includes airlines such as Delta Air Lines and Air France. That means American travelers can redeem Delta SkyMiles to book flights on Vietnam Airlines or earn Delta miles while flying with the Hanoi-based airline. While the airline will eventually expand the route to operate seven days a week, those plans are currently on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions. Also potentially in process? A second route, possibly between Los Angeles and Hanoi. The route has been in the works for 20 years.
