EL AL elige incorporar flota Boeing 737 MAX
Pedido de 30 aviones valorado US$ 2.000 millones Dólares
La aerolínea israelita EL AL Airlines ha seleccionado el Boeing 737 MAX para equipar la flota de aeronaves narrowbodies de mediano porte. Después de recibir propuestas de Airbus Group y The Boeing Company, la compañía con sede en Israel, eligió al constructor americano con el modelo de la línea de cuarta generación 737. La aerolínea de bandera de Israel, ha entablado negociaciones exclusivas con Boeing y arrendadores de aeronaves buscando encargar 30 aviones Boeing 737 MAX.
EL AL Airlines ha elegido a Boeing en lugar de Airbus para un posible pedido de aviones de fuselaje estrecho. La aerolínea israelita dijo que también se acercaría a los arrendadores de aviones Boeing 737 MAX y esperaba que su primer 737 MAX llegara en 2027. EL AL, inclina mejor oferta de Boeing

La aerolínea israelí tiene una flota actual de dieciocho (18) Boeing 737-800 en su flota con una edad media de 20,1 años, ocho (8) Boeing 737-900ER con una edad media de 9,5 años y un (1) Boeing 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) de 22,1 años de antigüedad.
EL AL Airlines termina 2023 con ganancias mientras mira un nuevo pedido de aviones. The Israeli airline EL AL Airlines has selected the Boeing 737 MAX to equip its fleet of medium-sized narrowbody aircraft. Israel’s flag carrier has entered into exclusive negotiations with Boeing and lessors of aircraft seeking to order 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
EL AL Airlines has chosen Boeing over Airbus for a possible order for narrow-body aircraft. The Israeli airline said it would also approach lessors of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and expected its first 737 MAX to arrive in 2027. However, the deal, valued between US$ 2 billion and US$ 2.5 billion, which includes the purchase and aircraft leasing has not been finalized.
EL AL, tips better offer from Boeing
On June 10, 2024, EL AL revealed in a filing on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange that in its quarterly report for the first quarter of 2024, the airline said it was examining the offers it received from Airbus and Boeing, and that EL AL was looking to renew its narrowbody fleet. Following proposals from the two manufacturers, EL AL announced that it would enter into exclusive negotiations with Boeing and aircraft leasing companies. The airline plans to acquire and/or lease around 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which would gradually replace its current Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft.
In addition, the 737 MAX would allow EL AL to expand its aircraft fleet. The Israeli airline has a current fleet of eighteen (18) Boeing 737-800s in its fleet with an average age of 20.1 years, eight (8) Boeing 737-900ERs with an average age of 9.5 years, and one (1 ) Boeing 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) 22.1 years old.
EL AL Airlines ends 2023 with profits as it eyes new aircraft orders. The airline has revealed that it still plans to expand its fleet in the next five years, including more Boeing 787 aircraft. According to the stock exchange filing, deliveries of the 737 MAX aircraft would begin in 2027. However, the airline did not reveal whether they would be from aircraft lessors. who have had delivery slots in their portfolios or whether Boeing was able to move EL AL aircraft orders within that time frame.
When Brian West, Boeing’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Vice President of Finance, spoke during the Bank of America Global Industrials Conference on March 20, 2024, he stated that the manufacturer has exhausted the 737 and 787 programs through 2028. As a result, Boeing was now quoting customers for deliveries in 2029 and 2030.
However, EL AL warned that the timeline for concluding negotiations and signing an initial proposal document, which could be a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Letter of Intent (LoI), could take up to several weeks. At the same time, the airline hoped to begin negotiations with aircraft lessors.
