En el Aeropuerto Internacional Rosario ha inaugurado un nuevo servicio de sistema de observación meteorológica de avanzada que brinda datos instantáneos y precisos, vitales para mantener la operación en condiciones meteorológicas adversas. La Empresa Argentina de Navegación Aérea SE (EANA), del Ministerio de Transporte, y el Servicio Meteorológico Nacional pusieron en servicio el Sistema Automático de Observación Meteorológica (AWOS) Categoría III en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Rosario Islas Malvinas. Este sistema de última tecnología, instalado por EANA, permitirá a las aeronaves operar aun con valores de visibilidad menores que los mínimos actuales, gracias a la mayor precisión y localización de los datos, obtenidos en forma continua.

Hasta ahora, el aeropuerto contaba con un sistema AWOS de precisión estándar, que permitía realizar aproximaciones mediante instrumentos radioeléctricos en lo que se denomina Categoría I. El nuevo sistema es de una precisión superior, que a futuro servirá para que el aeropuerto pueda operar en Categoría III, con valores de visibilidad similares a los actuales del Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini de Ezeiza.

Un AWOS CAT III mide y transmite de manera automática datos de alta precisión de las condiciones meteorológicas del momento en ambas cabeceras de pista y en su punto medio: visibilidad, alcance visual en pista, altura de la base de las nubes, precipitación, dirección y velocidad de viento, temperatura, y presión atmosférica, entre otros parámetros. En consecuencia, se reducen los valores meteorológicos mínimos de operación del aeropuerto, y con ello las demoras o desvíos de vuelos.

El nuevo sistema AWOS instalado en Rosario en el marco del Plan de Modernización del Transporte, forma parte de un total de 18 sistemas AWOS adquiridos por EANA a la empresa VAISALA OYJ de Finlandia para ser instalados en distintos aeropuertos del país. El proceso de instalación a nivel nacional avanza aún a pesar de las dificultades planteadas por la situación del Covid-19. La modernización del sistema de observación meteorológica llevada a cabo por EANA en Rosario permitirá al personal de los servicios de navegación aérea y de meteorología del aeropuerto, así como a las empresas que operan en él, contar con información de alta calidad para su toma de decisiones.

Además, tanto el personal de control de tránsito aéreo como de apoyo técnico de los equipos (CNS/ATSEP) recibió la capacitación funcional, de mantenimiento y de utilización requerida para aprovechar adecuadamente las ventajas de las nuevas tecnologías instaladas. La suma de estas acciones significa una sustancial mejora en aspectos centrales de la seguridad operacional.

La aerolínea rusa Aeroflot Russian Airlines ha recibido sus primeros Airbus A320NEO y A321NEO a finales de Mayo 2021. El primer avión A320NEO de la aerolínea salió del sitio de producción de Airbus en Toulouse el 18 de Mayo de 2021, mientras que el avión A321NEO partió de Hamburgo el 28/05. Southwest reanuda vuelos a Costa Rica tras un año por pandemia

Southwest Airlines ha restablecido la ruta EEUU-Costa Rica tras un años de suspensión por la crisis sanitaria mundial. El vuelo transportó 145 pasajeros que arribaron al Aeropuerto Daniel Oduber, en Liberia, Costa Rica, procedente de Houston (TX), Estados Unidos este Domingo 6 de Junio de 2021. El vuelo WN691, proveniente de Houston, Estado de Texas, aterrizó en el Aeropuerto Internacional Daniel Oduber, en Liberia, con 145 pasajeros a las 12:51 p.m. El Instituto Nacional de Turismo (ICT) ha informado en un comunicado de prensa que con la llegada de esta línea aérea todas las empresas que volaban a Guanacaste, previo a la crisis de la Covid-19, ya han reanudado sus operaciones hacia Costa Rica. Los turistas que viajen desde o hacia el Aeropuerto de Liberia podrán realizarse las pruebas de Covid-19 en las instalaciones de la terminal aeroportuaria.

A su llegada, la aeronave de Southwest fue recibido con el tradicional saludo de agua y a los pasajeros se les entregó una regalía con un cubrebocas alusivo a Guanacaste. “Nos sentimos llenos de esperanza por la reactivación de operaciones de la línea aérea Southwest a nuestras dos principales terminales aéreas ofreciendo conexiones estratégicas desde Houston y Baltimore”, explicó Gustavo Segura, Ministro de Turismo. Los estadounidenses representan aproximadamente el 70% de los viajeros internacionales que llegan al país. “Es sumamente significativa la llegada de esta aerolínea para sumar a la generación de empleo turístico y encadenamientos”, destacó Gustavo Segura.

“Nos emociona al reintroducir a Costa Rica en nuestra red internacional de conexión y así llevar a nuestros clientes a la cálida y hospitalaria la región de Guanacaste, esto refleja lo que pretendemos ofrecer con cada viaje”, dijo Eleonor Pimentel, Gerente Regional de Operaciones Internacionales de Southwest Airlines.

Para César Jaramillo, Gerente General de Coriport, concesionaria de la terminal de Liberia, el arribo de la aerolínea estadounidense es un reflejo de que el país hace las cosas bien. “El reinicio de vuelos de Southwest refuerza la posición del aeropuerto, ya que la recuperación del tráfico y las operaciones continúan en aumento, ofreciendo altos estándares en servicio al cliente”, destacó César Jaramillo.

Southwest comenzó en 2015 sus trayectos internacionales a Costa Rica y eligió a la terminal liberiana como uno de los primeros destinos centroamericanos. Con Southwest ya son nueve las aerolíneas que conectan Costa Rica con Estados Unidos. Las otras líneas aéreas son Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Spirit Airlines y Sun Country Airlines. Frontier Airlines que arribará a partir del 1 de Julio de 2021. Adicional al vuelo diario desde Houston Texas, Southwest enlazará a partir del próximo 12 de Junio de 2021 un vuelo semanal desde Baltimore, Maryland.

España inicia apertura pasajeros vacunados del mundo

A partir de este Lunes 7 de Junio de 2021, España anuncia la apertura a todos los viajeros del mundo que estén vacunados para ingresar al país con los requerimientos de documentación pertinente. Estos incluyen a países donde los casos de contagios son altos. Todos los pasajeros de cualquier procedencia podrán acceder al ingreso a España con el requisito de estar vacunado con una anticipación de más de catorce (14) días, con las vacunas, dependiendo de ser una o las dos dosis. Otro requisito son el tipo de vacunas que quedarán englobadas: Moderna, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, Janssen, Sinopharm y Sinovac. Aparentemente la vacuna rusa Sputnik V, que es la que más se ha inoculado en Argentina, quedaría excluida del proceso para ingresar al país. La razón del listado de vacunas que España aceptará como válido es la aprobación por parte de la Agencia Europea del Medicamento. Respecto de las vacunas cubanas, Abdala y Soberana, no hay constancia de que se hayan homologado, pese a que Argentina dice estar negociando su suministro. Las vacunas chinas Sinopharm y Sinovac-Coronavac, aceptadas en España, tienen importancia en Latinoamérica porque hay varios países que la han empleado, destacando entre ellos Chile y Uruguay.

Reapertura internacional

Esta reapertura de fronteras debería marcar el comienzo de una recuperación para el sector turístico español de largo radio, que fue diezmado por la pandemia. Antes de que el coronavirus asomara su fea cabeza, España era el segundo país más visitado del mundo. La mayor parte de estos viajeros proceden de Europa y viajan por sol y playa, pero existe un turismo internacional del que se benefician las grandes ciudades españolas sobre todo, procedente de Estados Unidos, China y Latinoamérica, que había desaparecido.

En paralelo a esta apertura, las aerolíneas van recuperando la normalidad en los vuelos de largo radio con destino y origen en España, aunque no a todos los mercados porque algunos países tienen serios problemas de infecciones. United Airlines ofrecerá cinco vuelos semanales entre Nueva York y Barcelona y seis vuelos semanales entre Nueva York y Madrid a partir de Julio 2021. American Airlines ofrece vuelos desde Miami, Dallas y Nueva York (JFK).
